The comments thing is deff true, the feeling you get when someone says something positive about how you look makes me strive even harder and helps me carry on. I know how you feel about the heat... in Britain we are currently having a heat wave its currently 30C which is very hot for the UK. Keep up the great work and i hope you are having a good weekend!

T2, Welcome back - it was good you were able spend time with your dad and get him home. This heat is just crazy! Sorry it cut short your reunion.

Yeah, the heat made everyone spring a leak and lordy, it doesn't look good for a couple more days yet. Not sure how most the country is dealing with this, it's just gotta be brutal on soooooo many people :(

Hey, has anyone tried Sara Lee Buffalo Style Chicken from the Deli yet ?? Maybe I'm a Johnny-come-lately on this product but I give it a double thumbs up for us dieters.

12g Protein
0 fat

What a nice flavorful late night snack !! and friendly to the waistline ;)

I have tried that Sara Lee Chicken! It IS great :D mmmm can only get it at certain times here :( MAJOR bummer!

Good Morning Dieters.

I'm going to double up on my walking today. Hottest day of the year, so I'll need to bookend my walks during the coolest parts of the day. I think it's time to see how a double walk day goes. I had trouble after the first month with recovery time walking twice a day. My theory has always been as the weight came off the walking would become easier, farther and more often, well this hasn't been the case.

My morning walk is fairly infrequent - which is usually a short walk of 1 mile or less while my evening walk is my 'religious' walk, never less than 2 miles with a brisk pace. but in 4+ months now, the duel walk has just not came easy, the recovery time still isn't what I expected. :( especially at this point.
 
You can do it T2!! Just think how far you've come already!! And you say it hasn't come any easier, but try it with another, what, 100 lbs strapped to your back and then say it isn't any easier. Besides, you're probably walking a bit faster than when you started without realizing it.
As you say "keep fighting the good fight". We're all rooting for you!! :D

(Double walks are hard for me too, it happens about 1-2 a week. So I'm leaving earlier this morning to extend the first walk - Ya think that's cheating? ;)

Nice pic btw! I am sorry to here that your dad was not feeling well either. This heat is oppressive and can make you feel like sh*t. "Nice work in progress Mia. I smell stripper body soon !!" Gee I wish lol. Please don't overdue it on the walk. That is awesome that you want to up your anty on the exercise but be careful and take water with you. I am very proud of you and your kicking ass and taking names with your weight loss progress. HUGS xxx ooo:eek:

Everything takes time... give yourself a break... you're moving which is the important thing...

Take it easy on your self occassionally, especially inthis heat.

-Mana, You're dead-on, no doubt I got a walk groove on nowadays and I'm going from 'abusive foot thumping' to a 'nowhere near Fred Astaire glide' but I do have some speed happening with less damage to my body parts
. I'm kinda wondering if 4+ months on the same sneaker might be part of the problem. I've heard serious walkers and runners don't go past 2-3 months on one set of sneakers. I may have to consider this..

-Mal, Rest assured I will take your advice with the utmost sincerity. Dying isn't on my agenda today. I certainly was going to die if I didn't lose the weight but nothing is in my contract about dying while losing the weight. No proviso needed here. :) ;)

Nothing quenches like 90 degree Diet Mt Dew eh *yuck* Sickening how the weather went from relief starting tomorrow and now it's not coming till Thursday :mad: I don't do heat well :(

I did have a most excellent morning tho :cool: but that's another story ;) ;) ;)

Enjoying your day off sweets ??
