this site fit-o-meter's BMI is way off

I just did the fit-o-meter tool, and while I'm sure the other advice is valid, the BMI reading is astonishingly off.

It gave me a BMI of something like 63:eek:, for which at my height I'd have to weigh 600 pounds. I weigh 177. It asks for height in centimeters, and I used a tape measure with cm on the other side. I also went to a website converter, and both came to a reading of about 167 cm for 5' 5".

Every other BMI chart I've seen gives me a BMI of about 30.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yup, that's it. Once I converted pounds to kilos it all made sense.

Divide by 2.2 or see this site:

word to the wise.

the results of it amused me...

Because I can touch my toes -it says my active mobility under flexibility is good -I'm the furthest thing from flexible -Ijust have monkey like arms...

and under stamina it says do more to increase your stamina - like jogging... :D yeah - trying - but not quite so easy as that...

Summary - it would be great if you would improve your fitness level. Your boy and health will be in a much better condition and thank you for it. I think I'd rather my body send me flowers or chocolate than thank you.. talk is cheap - money talks :D

Those tests are not always accurate - even though every website and fitness company promotes and uses them, there are times when they can be way off on things!

Yes, It's KG

I solved the BMI problem by entering KG, not pounds, see above post for pounds to kilo converter. As far as "fitness" I know I'm in a sorry state at this point regardless of KG or pounds. Saw a fitness trainer today and am about to start her program. So far, after 3 weeks on my "diet" I haven't lost anything worth talking about. I definitely need to kickstart my metablolism. So this week starts the burn. If nothing happens then, I'm going for the hormonal screen. I know I have thyroid issues, and for the first time on a diet I'm post-menopausal. Ehhhh.
