This is the time

Do you have a problem with the latest gossip? :D

NO! <.< Of course not! >.> Men don't gossip!

Lol, actually, in my family, the gossip flows faast and deep. Like "hipwaders needed" deep. I can't tell you how many times I have been tortured by having to listen to the latest "He said, she said" rant at a family gathering.
I just try to not throttle people when the subject turns to me.

"Why aren't you married yet?"
"When do I get a grandchild?"
"Why aren't you working?"
"How's it going with that girl I heard about?"

*sigh* Yep, that's the family gathering. And if I don't answer, I always get the most amazing "Is it true that you..." questions.

I say do what works for you. I pay a lot to go to the gym. So when I am able, my butt is there and working! You are doing great right now! Have a great day!:)
You've really been getting into your exercise I know. It's wonderful to hear about and I'm sure it will pay off for you. The little bit I did in the gym on Sunday gave me a bit of a reminder how much effort some of the gym attenders here are making. I was pretty much stuffed after 15 minutes each on the machines I hopped on - according to them I think I only burned 110 - 120 cals. I see other people recording 500 cals a time and so on and I'm pretty impressed!

LOL. Your family must have a lot of other important, wonderful qualities...to balance this up and keep you going back! You went to your grandmother's birthday party the other night and didn't even complain. :)

Hmm. Maybe parents eventually grow fond of asking "Have you done your homework/chores/physio/cleaned your teeth/taken your medication/called back/ said thank you ..." (though I haven't yet...), so then when they have grown up children they just naturally fill the gaps by asking replacement questions.

Actually, I have walked away from most of the people in my family and never looked back. I see a small portion of them at Xmas and Thanksgiving, most years, and other than that, I avoid them like the plague.

I have stretched my "family boundaries" a bit in the past year or two, but almost always wind up regretting it, so I just count on holidays, and maybe once over the summer during birthday season (we have a bunch around the beginning of June).

I encourage this distance, if I had to see them too often, I couldn't handle it. I'm cranky enough without having people try to blatantly manipulate me, thankyouverymuch.

Freaky thread direction. I quoted myself as saying my family being 'my biggest supporters', tis true in the weight loss aspect but not much else. I was (and always will be) the black sheep of the family so it's had its own internal strife wedged into all things unimportant to what family should stand for.

Let me put it this way, if I don't go to visit 'them', there won't be a visit. I guess that's not so bad when you think about it.

lol, count yourself lucky, T2 ;)
Mine don't even support me for the weight loss, mostly.

I just count myself lucky that "I live so far away" or whatever excuse is usually given. My mom and my brother (and his wife and kids) are the only family members that come to my house, everyone else just says "Jeez, it's like 10 or 15 miles..." and then asks me to come to their house instead.

I guess discussing the foibles of family gossip in someone else's diary is a bit strange. Sorry, Felici, I wasn't really trying to ramble on like this. :p

By the way, have you worked out when you are actually going to have time to do your hiking and other funly exercisish stuff?

Oh my gawd, I KILLED it!
Felici, don't let it end this way, you've come so far! :p

Seriously, have you put some thought into when you will actually be willing and able to do your funly exercizish activities?

That is what makes using the machines worth it!!! If I am going at a decent pace I can burn 500 cals on teh Elliptical in 30 - 35 mins and go like 5 - 6 miles...it is totally worth it especially if that is the only 30 mins I am gettin in...

The machines get easier the more you do them
and seeing those cals go higher and higher and your miles add up is funa nd incentive...at least for me, lol...who woulda thoght I wold become an exercise unkie...certaintly not me...hahaha

Have a good day chicky!!!

Well that was a busy day. I started off replying here but couldn’t finish the post. I swear I put it in Word – but I guess I didn’t save it.

Anyway. I think I said something like this.

Great quote. True lies was a funny movie.

Re: time for funly exercizish activities.

I am planning to go to bed early on school nights. About 10:00. That should let me get up early enough to usually fit in some exercise before work. I have a bad track record with following through on the get up early stuff. However, it is a long time since I tried, and I have a better record with eating right now, so maybe I can do this other thing too.

After school is dodgy. However, my daughter will be at dancing for ¾ hour 5 times a week so maybe I can use that time for exercise too.

I will put some effort into making a better system for grocery shopping. I used to print out likely lists and tick them off when I was busy before, and go shopping less often. That would free up some good time.

I thought if I had something/s I can do at my own home that would give me the chance to sometimes do them when it is too dark to walk.

Hopefully a lot of weekends will have some extra space in them. I know this weekend is supposed to be hideously hot so swimming would be my best bet.

Also, there are happy opportunities at times, like tonight. I went to my friends and took “finger food”. I stressed a little about what to make, but decided on rice paper rolls with rice noodles, veges and prawns in them. I ran out of time to eat before I went out so I pigged down some of the stuff that I hadn’t made into rolls. That was unpleasant actually. It reminded me of some of my eating before I started eating properly – no enjoyment and a bit disgusting. Anyway, it was probably ok foodwise. Then at my friend’s I had one piece of chicken wing and one slice of pizza and a bottle of water. After a while we went out to “The Moon and Sixpence”, and danced a little and then the women I was with proclaimed that we should instead be at the Old Bailey because that was where Peace and Love were playing so we went there. They were right. It was crowded and lots of people were dancing and it was fun. I mainly said I would go to the second place because I thought I could do with the extra exercise! LOL. It was fun. I think I danced for 3 hours tonight. I had two diet cokes and one half brandy and dry. Now I am thirsty, but I am happy.

I tried to walk this morning and did in fact walk for an hour at Carine Reserve. However I left home a bit late 10:00 –and after an hour my dog was hot and didn’t want to walk any more!! Seriously that is the reason I came home. The path went near my car but then I turned back and she did NOT want to follow. I went off anyway, and eventually she followed but doing the old lagging and stopping thing and then the next thing she had disappeared. I found her lying on the verandah of a little clubroom building, in the shade. However, I reckon I have caught up my exercise now. Those women were good to go out with because they all just wanted to dance the whole time – just like me! :) Those places are too noisy for talk.

Breakfast ~7:30 2 weetbix., 1/3 C tinned peaches, 1 C soya milk, 1 boiled egg. 1 slice wholemeal toast, with margarine and jam. ¼ C tomato juice. 1 C White coffee ~ 40 ml Hilo milk Lunch 12:00 2 Salada biscuits, 100gm “light “ tuna with lemon and cracked pepper, 1 tomato, ½ mushroom, 3 slices capsicum.Snack ~ 3:45 1 Salada, cottage cheese, 1 tomato. Dinner: As above. ~ 5 rice paper rolls containing 10 prawns, some carrot and sprouts and about 20 gm rice vermicelli. Exercise 10:00am 4 km walk moderate pace. 9:00 about 2-3 hours dancing. .Water: 2250ml Yesterday’s Bedtime: 1:00
On plan:65days Achieved food target: 56 days Exercised: 55 days All goals: 6 days.

That does sound good! I really don't want to divert any money that way for now, but I will remember about it. If we end up having our holiday money sorted early, or if my weight loss stalls and it needs some money to get it going again!! :)

It sounds like you've been having fun! I just have to add; Blech! Prawns?!

Well heck, did any cute guys hit on you? What about us ugly ones? :p

It was good. I haven't done anything like that for so long that I forgot to take the right kind of bag. Probably I will forget again by next time. I did go through a phase where I thought I couldn't dance any more because I was too fat. This is when I was a lot thinner than I am now. Anyway when I saw Aretha Franklin in The Blue's Brothers, I decided that maybe size was maybe not what counted.

A few guys hit on our group. The one we actually talked to and danced with was the least cute looking. Nah. I shouldn't say that, he was the least conventionally good looking and had the highest BMI, though now I think about it, he was kind of cute. :)
