This is the time

bm - LOL :D We were all married. Only the women with no men at home looking after their children went home early. I didn't think any of us were still hitonable to be honest. (However I would NOT tell my friends that!) I actually liked going out somewhere like that without considering that side of things.

Hi happy. Thank you for that. In some ways I don't feel too much different - but I do feel more like I am able to do a lot more and I love that. Also, I have had no quick weight loss so I am glad to finally see the numbers for my weight loss looking like it is something worth mentioning! In another couple of months (or surely by four more!) it should be visible to the casual observer too. :D

I will catch up more here tomorrow. I need to go shopping soon, then I am going to a pool to swim. (It was already 40 C - 104 F by 11.00). Unless I can find something cheap in K mart, I will waste a nice Tshirt my sister-in-law bought me from Capri. It is the only thing I own that is tight enough to swim in. I have been wearing shirts that were too big for me for a long time in a vain attempt to smooth over the lumps. Only this summer just before I started losing weight did I buy several that were slim fitting - and I need them for work! Last time I checked swim suits, the only things I could see were $100. Tonight I am going to sleep over at the party we are going to - so it will be a while before I post today's food.

Whoo-hoo, a party animal indeed!

As a single guy, I should hope that all of you ladies were wearing your wedding rings; just to make it easier for us to filter out the ones we should waste effort on. Or if nothing else that you would keep the guy in mind for your single friends ;)
Oooooh, yeeeeeah.

Your sounding good and happy, there is alot of energy here in your diary today/yesturday...whenever, lol...droppin in to say hi,m congrats on the dancing nad having fun...enjoy your party!!! I gotta learn to let loose I figure another 20 lbs and I will be bouncing off the walls and into everythign, LOL...

I never wear my ring because there is a diamond missing from it and getting it replaced never quite makes it to the top of our priorities. I don't know about the others. They weren't flirting though they just were friendly to this guy. I haven't heard of referring on randoms! :D. I didn't figure I needed any keep off markers. I make sure I don't accidentally look interested in men I don't know because I think it might gross them out!! :D I did wonder afterwards if the nice guy would have thought he had wasted his time being friendly with us - but I think the reason he didn't get the freeze is that we didn't want to be mean. I just hoped he had been there for the fun like we were.

Thanks. There was no dancing at last night's party ... except for me when there were not so many people and I could hear the music. My girl came over to let me know I was being embarrassing but I just gave her the "Mum's inevitably do that anyway, get used to it," line.

My family (like Mum, sisters) and other friends have not commented on my weight loss, but there were people at this party who hadn't seen me since October and asked me how much I had lost! That's the first time that's happened, so it was nice. I think I ate well. I did try to choose things that fitted my plan as well as I could. As ever, the food looked more spectacular than I anticipated!! I didn't get the feeling I might not handle it that I have sometimes had though. One more nice thing, they had a set of 12-15 limestone stairs in the back garden and without thinking I walked up them this morning - just like a normal person - no puffing, no stopping, one foot per stair! (I was still slow and careful going back down though!)

The pool yesterday was really good. I didn't swim much. I did about 1 1/2 laps of freestyle, maybe 6 of breaststroke, 1 backstroke. I walked a couple. The best bit was that I jogged heaps mainly forwards, a little backwards, and even did a couple of little circles of starjumps. The water is so liberating. Whether walking or swimming my muscles and sore bits get to me first before I get really puffed, so jogging in the water was nice for how puffed it let me get. I stayed in the water for an hour but could have done longer if I'd had time. Even though I don't plan on doing it all the time it was a really nice change of pace. I couldn't find a swimsuit. OMG - only racing bathers a size small - not a confidence builder! The tshirt worked out well though. The shoes were good. The goggles let in water and freestyle made water rush in my ear! I suppose the goggles might need adjusting, and I'm thinking the water in my ear might be the reason I have a bathing cap in the cupboard where we keep goggles. Next time I will try that.

I am going to the beach soon, with my daughter, maybe 1-2 other kids. If I get time for a walk later I will do it (the dog will probably need it) but if I don't, then I think the surf is a pretty good workout.

Wow! Short sleeps and lots of movement. By 6:00 tonight I was ready for bed – but having had lots of time off – what about the cooking, clean up, laundry, book covering, dog walking? Sorry dog – I just ran out of puff.

The beach was weird fun. It is not that hot today and very windy but there were more people in the water than before. I don’t know if that’s because it’s a weekend or because no one could stay on the beach with the sand cutting into them! In the water everyone was laughing and wearing manic grins. I’m pretty sure we were all laughing at ourselves for trying to deal with the water which was just chucking us all around. I got my exercise a different way than I expected. I thought it would come from fighting the water as I attempted to stay within the flags. Actually the girls were being swept out of the flags so quickly that I spent all my time going after them in the water and then getting them out of the water, then running after them (yes, I forgot that I can’t run), back up to the other end of the flags, before they were swept back down the other end again. Finally, I left because although we always started trying to get out of the sea once we got to the flag, the water kept knocking the girls over and sweeping them along and we were always wa-a-ay past the safe area by the time we were all standing up on the sand again. At first this was only happening a few feet from the sand but the last time they were a little further out and I figured it was time to go. :)

Breakfast ~10:00 1 fried (barbecued) egg. 2 slices multigrain bread. ½ C fruit salad. 2C White coffee ~ 80 ml Hilo milk Lunch 1:30. 2 weetbix 1 C soy milk, 1/3 C tinned peaches, 1 piece toast margarine, jam. 1 C coffee. 2 handfuls almonds. Snack 5:15. 1 Salada biscuit, cottage cheese, 1 tomato Dinner: 7:15 ~ 150 gm grilled rump steak, 1 microwaved potato, asparagus, carrots, broccolli. Exercise 3:00 1 hr very active in the surf .Water: 2500ml Yesterday’s Bedtime: 3:00
On plan:67 days Achieved food target: 58 days Exercised: 57 days All goals: 6 days.

Yeah, I fully back up your "Time to go" decision. I grew up spending a lot of time on the Oregon coast and I did get washed out from the shore one time when the tide went out. I ended up swimming for a LONG time at maximum energy before finally making it back to shore. I was lucky that I had someone there with me, but he couldn't swim and he didn't want to leave me (older brother type, you know). He said it took me over half an hour to finally get back to shore.
It was pretty scary at the time, but I know I didn't have TOO much to worry about. Very few carnivorous fish, and the coast guard station was only a few miles away, but still it would have been a long time in the water. I'm just glad I have always been a strong swimmer. :D

Edit: I'm also really looking forward to dropping enough weight that I feel comfortable going swimming around other people again!

Im glad to see you ahd such a good time over the last little bit here...you can read the excitement off the page! LOL...

M2M - It was an odd day!

Qjay - I really enjoy all my time in the water. A lot of the places I go to have quite a few people who seem to be on similar health/weight quest to me so I don't really feel too uncomfortable around them. I know what you mean though - I have piked out a few times if I've thought I might look too weird to my children's friends or something.

I was not too worried about anyone getting hurt at the beach. There were about 10 lifeguards huddled in their little shed between the flags and a beach ranger vehicle parked near the spot where we kept ending up. I just thought we should end things while it was still fun! Your situation would have totally freaked me out! I wouldn't have been too scared of sharks (we get them but they're rare), but I'm not that strong a swimmer.

I caught up some of my sleep this morning after getting children to school. After that the day was fairly busy.

I tried to walk the dog while my daughter was at dancing. I did take her for a walk in the bush at Warwick. She was happy to start with. I doubled back on the trails as long as I could – ½ hr, then ended up near the entrance, turned to take a new trail but doggoe had had enough once more. Until the weather gets cooler, 4:00 dance sessions are a bit early in the day for dogs I guess – it’s really 3:00 anyway. It was good not trying to fit the walk into the evening. In a little while the earlier times should be fine.

I hunted up descriptions of those at home exercises instead. I thought I might just do 15 minutes or so. I have been trying to get in at least 45 minutes a day of some kind of exercise. I was thinking that I am too exhausted by talking to my son to start something new, but realistically that is just something I have to cope with - not make a barrier out of. So I made a start – but somewhat nervously. I did 1 wrong wall sit and 5 proper ones, 10 supermans, ½ a chair dip (won’t try that again for a long time), and three body bridges. I have a feeling I might need to fit a bit more than that in if it’s to help with my weight loss. :) Also, I am now wondering if trying to do these things without any latisimus dorsi muscles is a good idea - and whether perhaps it's too soon for them to be a good option for me. I might hunt up an exercise DVD for at home exercise back up instead.

Breakfast ~ 7:00 2 weetbix, 1C lowfat soy milk, 1/3 C peaches. 1 slice of wholemeal toast with minimal margarine and strawberry jam. 1 boiled egg. 1 C White coffee ~ 40 ml Hilo milk Lunch 12:30. 2 Salada crackers, with lowfat cottage cheese and 1 tomato. 1 carrot. Snack 5:15. 1 Salada biscuit. Dinner: 7:15 ~ 2 pieces chicken grilled, with apricot marinade. 2-3 C salad – broccoli, mushroom, snow peas, cucumber, ~ 3-4 black olives, 1 tomato, 100 gm red kidney beans. 1 carrot, 1 stalk celery, a little low fat French onion dip. its good that you exercise so much. its too hot there to exercise outside... and its too cold here. jeez.. i wonder if there will ever be a happy medium.

woahh where are you that its too hot?!?!
i wish i was there atm. im having trouble typing cos my fingers are so cold

Well Felici, to be honest it's just my preference. I am VERY large and VERY heavy and I amd VERY flabby. I have gotten in fights over people ragging me about my weight (I'm a lot less sensitive, but I still don't take it from people I don't like :D ) or trying to insult me, etc. so I try not to put myself into social situations where my particular psychological weak spot is going to be a very visible focus.
I figure in somewhere around a hundred pounds, I'll be a lot more comfortable in the skin I'm in, even if there appears to be a lot more of it than I need. ;)

Well I have been able to do some outside exercise most days regardless - I just need to time it right. There's usually a way to get what we need once we've made up our minds. :)_

Ow! It does get cold here - well people from snowy places might not agree but I do get cold fingers that don't want to move sometimes! :)

I live in Perth, Western Australia.

Hope you have a great day!!:) :)
Good luck to you also. :)

Ragging? Fights? Ick. :( Well I keep learning how lucky I am. There will be a place in the water for you when you're ready.

My brother is a big guy. He is a total softy but keeps his head shaven so he just looks like a bouncer. So he says. I don't have too much experience with bouncers. There were some at that place we went to on Friday and I was going to ask them for directions, but then I looked at their don't-mess-with-me faces - way above my head, and changed my mind.

I used to be pretty rough-and-tumble; and have been in plenty of circumstances where my mouth gets me in it deep. I've learned to control my attitude and my temper over the years, but there have been plenty of amusing anecdotes that were painful lessons learned.

I just kinda figure to keep life as laid back and carefree as possible these days; it's better than stressing out over every little thing or having to get back at someone over something they said or did. I don't like drama ;)

i know i've said this before...(this is in reply to my quote you posted)
but i am going to make up my mind this time.

At least there are some compensations for getting older! :)

Good on you. :) I hope I didn't sound like I was trying to push a message - I'm usually just expressing whatever occurs to me as I reflect on other people's comments. I'm always talking to myself as much as anyone else. I reckon the more I reflect on what will help me, and the more I articulate my ideas about what I'm aiming at, the better chance I have of having the right idea ready for myself when I need it. :)

Talk about wisdom ;) I completely agree.
