Alright, so here I am. Dont know if it will be better than all the last times around but worth a try, methinks :)

Today's food

Brekker: Two steamed rice pancakes - 200
Lunch: 1/4 plate of white rice + some broth+ some vegetable - 300
Evening: 1 plate of puffed rice - 100
Dinner: Two fried breads + 1 cup of broth+ french fries+ 1 biscuit+1 fried snack - 600
4 cups of tea+4 biscuits-100 (no sugar)

Thats about 1300 cals but hey, I am eating way too much rice of all sorts. should put a stop to this nonsense at once!!

Tomorrow I will wake up early to go to the gym :)

1300 calories is great! You don't want to go much lower than 1200, so you are right there in the zone! Keep it up!!

Hey, you look like you are doing great your food looks good and you plan to exercise. Maybe instead of eating white rice you could try brown but otherwise your calories look good. I hope you are having a good day!
 
hey all

Hmmm...just one day around here and already feels like i have found some friends :D awesome feeling, really :D:D:D

Today's food intake:
Tea:30
Tea:30
Brekker: Two breads+some vegetables (300)
Lunch: Some rice + some lentils+ some veggies...but couldnt finish it...(150)
3 pm: Tea (30)
Evening: Two slices of white bread + omelette....quite oily i though....400
Dinner:Dosa + watermelon juice (260)
Total: 1000 cals

Plus i burnt off 300 calories at the gym. so thats a net total of 700 calories. I am targeting to hit the gym tomorrow morning too, hope i can wake up in time :D

Hi, thinthighs! You're doing great! Doesn't it help to write things down? I don't do it very well with just paper and pen, so maybe logging into my diary on a daily basis will help me too. As soon as you feel comfortable doing it, try sampling other foods that are good for you too. I used to stick to the same stuff every day because it was all I trusted, but that didn't work too well for me. I got sick of eating the same things every day and soon went off my plan and binged like crazy. I took some time to research other good foods (joining Weight Watchers for a time helped too), and now I try to eat a variety of healthy things. Of course the binging on junk food hasn't gone away entirely, but I'm starting to get a handle on it.

Keep up the good work! You're on the right track! It won't be long before you see good results.
 
I started my period today. And that means CRAVINGS for CHOCOLATE :(
I succumbed :(:(
Here is my food intake:
Tea 30
One slice of bread with some low fat spread 70
Tea + 1 biscuit 50
Tea 30
Lunch Pav Bhaji 300
Mango Drink 100
Ice Cream 400
2 slices of bread, bhujiya 300

Some 1300 or so I should think

HORRIBLE :((
 
1300 is not really bad, especially when you're on your TOM! Trust me, I think you are doing great, and I think every woman should be allowed to cheat a bit at her TOM.

Man, I used to pig out like crazy when I had my period. Of course I reasoned that it gave me a very good reason to pig out. :( Hang in there! Don't beat yourself up over it. Unfortunately it comes around once a month, so maybe next month you'll resist that temptation at least a little bit. You're doing great! Keep up the good work!

I was going to say, you must be a big fan of rice! You seem like you're on your way to weight loss, though...congrats! Hope to talk to you again soon.

am i eating too much rice

I guess I am. But I am a vegetarian and rice is a staple food for me. I have tried brown rice in the past but i HATED it :( And giving up ric means complete and total misery.

I do eat a lot of fruit though.

any thoughts?

1 toast, 1 boiled egg --> 200 calories
Tea - 30
Apple -- 100
2 rotis, rice, vegetable, curd, salad -- 500
Maggi -- 150?
Tea - 30
Tea - 30
biscuits 4 - 100
1 roti, rice, vegetable -- 500

TOTAL 1640....looks like i have started overeating again :(
 
I think you should try keeping your calorie intake close to 1200. If that means you have rice so be it. Once you get use to eating 1200 calories or so a day then worry about trying to replace white rices with somethink else.

we all have bad days, tomorrow will be better, how much exercise have you gotten in or will get in today?
 
Your starch dependency on this diet leaves you very little wiggle room for missing exercise. This will slow down your results but certainly no reason to panic. You may consider weaning off the breads and biscuits especially since rice is a must in your diet.

Overall, your consumption and the other food choices look to be favorable for a nice weight loss program. :)

I think you are doing GREAt!!!!! keep it up. and if you go alittle over your cals. Then make sure you go that extra mile during your workout. Have a GREAt day and Stay POSITIVE. Don't give up!!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, gals :D

Me hanging on. One good thing is: I am managing to control my portions and when I finish a meal, I am not stuffed, not even full (though i do feel full after about 20 minutes)....

Have also done without cigarettes for a whole 9 days...whew!! Thats one habit that I am going to kick for sure. I wasnt a very heavy smoker or anything but I wasnt comfortable with even the few sticks that I was smoking. However, that will be a thing of the past now.

As for my diet: I am motivating myself by thinking about the new smaller-size pair of jeans that I can buy before my holiday in August-end. I have about 45days to lose a dress size.

Yesterday's calories:
Tea - 30
Upma - 1 serving - 150
Tea - 30
2 Small Plums - 100
Rajma Rice - 300
Tea and 3 Marie Biscuits - 100
2 rotis, daal, bhindi - 400
Peanut butter - 90

TOTAL: 1300

Total exercise: 35 minutes of aerobics - 150 burnt

NET: 1150

Good stuff. I am going to work out with weights today.
