The Time to Hesitate is Through!!

Hello I just got a chance to read your diary, and I have to agree with everyone here you have a way with words!!! Keep up the good eating, that is most of the battle right there, when you decide to workout start out slow with walking and gradually add more time or distance. You can do it and you will find that there is a lot of support on this site!!! Keep it up you are doing great! Congrats on the weight loss!!!!

Hi!!

Hi! My name is Lisa and I just joined this awesome site today...and your journal is the first one I have read and I love it! You are so open and honest and hilarious too! Congrats on your weight-loss...that is awesome! I am hoping to find inspiration on this site as I have 80lbs to lose, and I am looking to make some great supportive friends! I hope we can get to know each other and most importantly support each other! :)

Finally made it to your diary Bridget and you are doing great. Who cares what the weight you are losing is made of, the point is it is no longer on you! I know you can do this and all of us are here to be your friends instead of dumpy old Donald's or the King lol. I am definitely with you on the scale front though :(.

Welcome lammypie!! I think it is so neat that I got to be your introduction into the diaries on this site!! It would be simply stellar to get to know you and help support each other on this journey!! :biggrinjester:

Thanks so much for coming by Verobc and Disneymom!! I am a big fan of compliments and support! :coolgleamA:

I just remembered something I am still steaming over, and so I needed to vent!! My husband and I went out and bought a Wii, the balance board, and Wii Fit Plus because I was SO motivated to start up the routines. Little did I know that I weigh to much to get fit with the Wii at this time...

*hangs head in shame* :leaving:

I have since looked up some stuff on the internet (note to self: do this prior to major purchases in the future), and found out that it has a 325 pound limit. Blast!! :banghead:

The good news is that I am WAY closer to that weight now then I was a few days ago... The bad news is that I might be even closer (or further away!) than I know because I don't have a working battery in the flippin' scale!!

:nopity:

Peace, love, and regular scales that don't require a battery,
Bridget

hey there, just thought i should pass by and say hey....i saw your post in the 300club which led me here to your diary. I've been there for ages and just like you my first goal is to see 299 on the freakin weighing scale. It's been a battle, i keep starting then stopping...so i'm hoping i get there sometime soon.

It seems like your off to a great start! it's always great to see the scale go down, YAY you. I don't mean to be pushy or anything but would recommend if you find sometime to read the stickies particularly in the nutrition section. It's just that the 800 calorie diet sounds really low but of course since it's your doctor recommending it i can understand why you would want to listen to a certified health professional rather than some random strangers on a forum. But if you get to read the stickies and some journals you'll find lots of people getting good results on much higher calorie intakes especially if trying to sustain it for the long term.

You definitely have the right attitude. I also look at my old pics and reminisce...i've always been overweight but now it's just totally spiralled out of control. I look at my high school pics and even though i was bigger than the other girls then i'd kill to be at that weight again.

Oh well, apologies for rambling on and on...all the best as you go on to your goal weight :grouphug:

PS: you need to get that battery for your scale like yesterday lol!

PSS: don't worry about the wiifit...your just a few pounds away from using it...and don't hang your head in shame! you should hold your head up high because your doing something about your weight and not just sitting around doing nothing about it. just reading your journal is very motivating since i've been off the wagon for a while and only just trying to get back. in the meantime you can buy some home workout videos to help you get to the weight where you can use the wiifit! you go girl!

Aw, sorry Lady Foodaholic. That would be frustrating! But, think of it as an extra motivation to lose those next few pounds so you can use it. You're pretty close, so keep it up for another week or two and you'll be there!

The scale is back in town!!!

Oh Cherrygarcia, you brightened my day!! And I will stop sulking about the Wii Fit because SOON when I step on it will not yell at me to only have one person at a time on he balance board!!

And Mizzie, I wish I had seen being too heavy for the Wii as motivation a month ago... When I first stepped on and was denied I decided to show the game who was boss by eating a pint of ice cream. Yep, I really showed them who wears the pants... The quadruple extra large pants... :blush5:

In an update about the status of my scale and the new battery (which I'm sure is a topic of great discussion and concern :smilielol5:), I was able to get the new one today!! I was so psyched! I popped it in, stepped on, and then quickly stepped off... I stepped on and off a few more times (in rapid succession) because I have gone up by 0.6 pounds. Oh the horror! How dare my body fluctuate any which way but DOWN! :svengo:

So, I've learned a lesson. When the battery in the scale dies, give it a few days. I was so sure I would go down again because (this is going to sound so stupid) I got a haircut yesterday, like 7-8 inches of hair off!! I figured that would help!!

Oh well. I'll just keep sticking to the meal plan, and real results will follow!

Peace, love, and hysterical weigh-ins,
Bridget

:smilielol5:I find this hilarious cause I have tought to myself quite a few times " If I where to shave my head would the numbers go down???" so glad I am not the only one lol!
:smilielol5:

You had 7-8 inches cut off??!! I demand before and after pictures!! Brave lady!

It's totally my routine because I am lazy. I get my hair cut every 8-12 months, and I get 8-12 inches cut off at a time. Right now it's just long enough to still put back in a ponytail, and I usually rock the ponytail everyday the same way I did in pre-school... For many of the same reasons! When it's held back behind my face, I can't dribble food into it! Wow... some things haven't changed, but really need to! :smilielol5:

I only get mine done about twice a year--if that. I love the hair-dressers but, like you, I'm just a little lazy ;)

And I drool on myself all the time. I did tonight, in fact whilst eating a sweetie. I'm a child trapped in the body of an amazon woman.

I was the same way about my hair. I would wait til it was just past shoulder length and chop it down to within an inch or two of my skull.

But not anymore, one of my goals for the year, besides weight loss, was to not cut my hair (not past split ends at least). My hubby likes long hair, so I'm gonna see how long I can get it by the end of the year.

there has been way too much excitement since i popped by two days ago!! Firstly congrats on the weight loss!! It is indeed the weigh if a newborn and it doesnt matter if it isnt made entirely of fat - it aint on you now! Secondly , 7-8 inches off your hair! I simply couldnt do it! (and i admit I have thought about it to lose a few ounces but now i know that it wouldnt work anyways :))

and thirdly....the ongoing technology battle! The battery going was bad enough but then that cheeky Wii fit! Did it honestly tell you that there were two people on the board?! Wait til you can use it - its awful cos you make a little Mii (representation of yourself) and it starts off skinny...until you enter your weight and then it starts to grow outwards!! Mine is a little chubby thing running about all over :) I quite like her actually!

Keep up the great work and the great posts! I love reading them :)

Teehee! Oh skinnywishes you make me smile!! :biggrinjester:

I was able to carry out my weigh-in routine without any hiccups this morning! YAY! What's even better is that the scale went down again!! DOUBLE YAY!! I believe I will be able to use the Wii Fit by this weekend if everything continues running this smoothly!! :coolgleamA:

Now I am generally not a breakfast eater (it makes me feel yucky when I eat in the AM!!), but this morning I felt a bit hungry so I used a whole grain Thomas' English Muffin to make two open-faced egg and cheese sandwiches. Oh it was SO yummy! It was my first time using the egg-substitute in place of real eggs, so I used two servings of the stuff - one for each egg. Turns out I could have still happily used only one serving of the eggs, because I just ate a whole lotta egg... Which was a bit off-putting, but hey... You live and learn! :puke:

I worked another 20 minute walk into my sedentary lifestyle yesterday. It was weird because I took my dog with me, and she is so out of shape too!! She was ready to turn around and go home before me, which was weird because she looks like a trim and healthy pup!! I think she'll be coming with me again today... :piggy:

Nothing huge or exciting is really going on at the moment... Oh! Other than the fact that I joined a weight loss challenge for April! My goal is to be around 315 by the end of the month, and that will keep me on target for FINALLY getting under 300 pounds again by my birthday at the end of May!

If... No, wait... When I make it under 300 pounds I am going to splurge and get myself an iPod/MP3 player of some variety!! Oh that will be so exciting!!

Welp... Until tomorrow (or until later today when something enters my mind that I feel the need to type about)!

Peace, love, and tunes,
Bridget

I'd love an ipod! Would make exercising so much better...I lost mine last month and the gym just isn't the same these days :( ;)

Too much egg is BLEUGHH. Well done for eating brekkie though! You're better than me!! And you WILL be at your goal by your birthday! You WILLLLLL be! Keep it up, lovely :)

I'm so proud of you Bridget! I didn't know the Wii could be so mean, it needs a serious time out until this weekend when it is prepared to play nice with you! Your doing great and I have no doubt that you will make your Birthday goal. Keep up the great work and here is to seeing those numbers keep dropping.

I know what you mean about eating in the morning! I always feel icky whenever I eat right after I wake up.

I think there's a way you can work out with the Wii Fit without getting on the board. I think I saw Kirstie Alley do it. Yes...she is annoying...but she's like a train wreck. You HAVE to stop by and see what carnage has ensued!

Oh, and the Twilight thing...it's okay. While I'm not a fan of the sparkly, no teeth vampires, I still am a true vampire fan. I will watch anything with vampires. Have you watched Vampire Diaries or True Blood. omg. ::swoon::

You're so close to using wii fit!! woohoo!!! The dance dance revolution game for wii is pretty fun. They give you the option of playing on the balance board and you just sway your hips left, right, or bend forward and backward, all while swinging your arms around!

You're doing grrreeeeeeaaat!

Hiiii. :D
I'm new to following your diary.
Getting an iPod as a reward is a BRILLIANT idea.

Well done you for eating breakfast and for joining the weight loss challenge.
YOU CAN REACH THAT GOAL.
