The Spoon, Puck and Me

Have a great time in Cyprus. Don't worry about DVT. It will only ruin the flight for you. Speaking as a frequent traveller, my family is definitely a group with the travelling bug, just make sure you have a walk around on the flight. If ure aiming to be wandering about alot, a word of advice get an aisle seat! lol.... Hope ure having a good weekend and enjoying the british weather! Keep up the good work!

Reading back what I've posted, I said I was flying Sunday morning. That's *next* Sunday! I'm still here for another week
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Phew ..... I thought I might have missed you, but you're here for another week :)

Flying is pretty boring, and I do tend to get nervous, but on my last trip to America I was on 5 flights in total hopping around the country, and I was fine. I didn't even have to eat hubby's arm to stay Alive! :D

I'm glad your village day went okay ..... its good to keep occupied.

PS ..... the up side of crashing on an island and being eaten by a polar bear ..... there seem to be a lot of cute guys on that island, and they are all tanned with stubble ;)

Hey everybody! Thanks for all the advise on flying. I never thought I'd find it scary when I eventually got to it. Goes to show exactly what I know.

M2M, I will most certainly have a marvellous time, thank you! I'm really looking forward to it; we have our own pool! With swim toys! Will post picture when more awake :)

Mal, 20,000 steps, now there's impressive! No DVTs round you then! Hopefully, there'll be steps on my plane, or it won't be too busy. I could do a variety of cartwheels and forward rolls up and down the aisle :D

favouritecrayon, I am most certainly enjoying the British weather, and I've got the burns to prove it :p And you're right; worrying will only make the flight less enjoyable.

Mrs B, nope, 'friad I'm still here for another week! You haven't got rid of me yet :D It's going to be an interesting fortnight; once I get back from Cyprus, we're home for a single day, then turn around and bomb off to Belgium! It's all so none stop!

Not having Top Cat is one of the scary things. I don't want anything bad to happen and not have him there. And I'll be the furtherest away from him that I've ever been. At least it's only a week away from him; I'll wrap him in bubble wrap until I get back :D

Mm, you make crashing on a magic island sound so wonderful... Can I be the hot chick that kicks out Kate and gets Sawyer? Can I, can I, can I, please, please, please? :p

OK, kcals for the day 1029. In there I stuck 100 kcals worth for sweets (a sugary lump thing and a chocolate thing) though because I've done walking, I haven't included the little bit of fruit juice my friends offered (they had no water; I was thirsty) I guess with the exercise not being that extensive, the kcal amounts OK, I'm quite pleased with that!

My friends were taking photos of me, and I can see so much difference in my face. Like in the picture above, my chin normally goes double and just looks like there's no chin at all. But in the pictures my mates took, you could tell that I'd lost weight and my double chin was practically gone!

Right, bed me thinks. It's 1:45 am, I keep misTyppinng, and I needs sleep. Filling my starving stomach on water isn't working and is getting boring. I hate late night munchies, I've been avoiding them with earlier nights. Ah well, earlier meals, no eats past 7/8 pm... it's still working!

Night night, see you in the morning, and bon dimanche.

Aha!! You like a bad boy do you .... well you'll have to fight me for him!! :p

So, does Topcat go over to Belgium with you? That would be a lovely holiday for you two. And don't you mean you'll wrap him in bubble wrap when you get BACK!! (or is that cling film ;) )

Great going on the cals today, and I know what you mean. I have a main meal at a reasonable time, but then I spend far too long on here (or is that just long enough ;) ), and its getting past 9pm and I start feeling hungry ... but its too late to eat ... doh!

And you better get posting your progress photo, it sounds like there is a big difference already. I'm excited to see!! :)

You have a good day lady, and put your sun tan lotion on (like I can talk, I got a bit burnt too  )

Cheers duckie

You may have to fight me for him. Aw, heck who am I kidding? I don't want to fight ya. There's enough Sawyer to go around...how about me and you share. I'll get him on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Tuesday and Sunday. You get Thursday. Fair enough? LOL!!!!!

On a side note, did you say you ATE A SALAD????? What have you done with the real Bronski. We want her returned safely to us ASAP. Just kidding...that is such great news and I'm so glad to hear that you are trying to incorporate these foods into your diet. Foods that you wouldn't normally eat but since you recognize the health value you are doing it anyway. Good for you!!!!

And congrats on the loss!!!! Way to go!!!!

OK, I might need to dash off part way through this; Top Cat is meant to be picking me up so we can look at the actual cat he's going to adopt :D And he was meant to be picking me up 20 minutes ago

Bearster, I like a hot bad boy yes! And my skills are hard to beat, I have a blue belt in judo and a black belt in origami! I'll fold your ass into a swan if you so much as touch him :D

Cling film? You saucy so-and-so ;) Though I think bubble wrap might be more fun :p

Thanks, I was pretty pleased with my progress yesterday. It does suck when it comes to evening, you feel starving hungry but you know that it won't do any good to eat anything then.

I'll have to see how I'm fitting into the black trousers you saw on the other photo, then post a picture of me in them. I can't wait to wear them publically again!

Because I got up late today, I missed breakfast (oops!) and 12 was too early for lunch, so I had a fairly large brunch to get me through til 6/7 this evening, as I have no idea what I'm doing today or when I'll be home. So I had tuna burgers (of course) with sweetcorn and a touch of salad, then an apple and a fat free cracker. So I'm at 621 kcals so far, with plenty left to play around with later. Though I may just stick with a bowl of cereal; brother got some Shreddies in, which are higher in kcals (over 200 per bowl with milk) but even with sugar and chocolate on them they'll make a pretty even meal.

Thing with getting burnt, I actually covered up! I'm covered today as well, and shouldn't be out too much, but if I do go out I'll just cover my burn (which happens on my chest ) by zipping up the thin jacket I'm wearing.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement and all the smiles and laughs :)

Have a great day everyone!

Bronsk

PS. Scarlett, my lovely, you beat me to it! Tell you what, Thursdays are fine by me; Top Cat goes fencing then, so he'll never know :D Heh heh!

Yes, I did say SALAD!! My dad and my best mate (who's I've known my whole life) were so shocked to see me eating it. I'm actually quite enjoying the stuff that I'm actually eating (spinach, rocket and watercress) and it goes nicely with the tuna burgers. It does help eating salad, it gives me more to play with!

OK, Top Cat's here. 35 minutes late, but alive :D And I didn't panic or nothin' (I only say that 'cos he's reading this post :p)

Have a wonderful day again!

THAT is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. You are too cute for words!!!!

Hey all!

Scarlett, :D Aw shucks! You'll make me blush!

Cannon and Jodee, thanks I will have a wonderful time in Cyprus! I'll definitely put up some pictures of the villa pool before I go, so you can think of me swimming :D Oh, and I'll be going to Detroit hopefully next summer, Cannon (after Camp America) then the summer after to see one of my friends. I think it sounds like quite a nice place, despite reputation. Hope you enjoy yourself there :)

*waves* Bear!

I've just had my first driving lesson in 7 months. At first it was so scary, I kept stalling and couldn't bring myself to get out of first gear. And some of the drivers were terrible. I was nearly "driven" to tears at one point (a pun worthy of Bear :D) But gradually got better, and after next lesson, we're just going to go back to where we left off.

Last night was amazing, probably the most fun I've had in a long time. Top Cat, mates and I sat out in a field and played monopoly for 4 hours. Since it was 8pm when we started, we ended up playing the last 2 hours by candle light! I nearly won, but still had all the stations :D

Today, I really wanted to go swimming, but because of driving lesson, and vet appointments, and also needing to see a little person about buying a flat or accomodation of some kind, I don't think I'm going to get chance. I have no idea what I'm going to say to them though. My dream place, however, is a flat above a pizzaria, which is owned by a short, chubby, balding guy called Luigi, who always wears an off-white vest top. He'll always give me free pizzas (which I can pass on to the homeless :p) and there'll always be two regulars, who are both called Mario. And whenever I'm in need, they'll get all Mafia-fied on people. Not kill, just be like "eh, you mess with our Bronski, you-a mess with all-of-a us!"

Anywho, I'll finish my snack (apple and cheese) then go and find my lil' man who'll show me some places. Wish me luck

Oh Cannon, please don't say that, I'm nervous enough about that as it is :) The part of Cyprus we're in is facing Lebena-wosit. It's all a bit scary, truth be told...

Flat hunting didn't go as well as hoped. I found one (that's one) flat available. There's about 3 about to be available. And that was the results from 7 different estate agents. Not best pleased, but I'm thinking about booking a viewing for the one that's definitely available.

Food intake today: cereal and milk (112 and 49) apple and cheese (50 and 150) a tuna pasta thing with pomegramet (sp) juice and a muller light yoghurt (250, 44 and 115) and for tea I will be having soup, sugar free jelly/jello and chocolate soy milk (125, 8 and 57.) Total: 960 kcals, which is about OK.

Have a fab evening!

I have to ask - because I'm a stupid american sometimes.. is the monopoly that you play in the UK the same version as played in the US? like that the properties are based on locations in Atlantic City, NJ or does it have properties based on UK places? (the things i wonder about sometimes.)

You're going on vacation and are going to have an excellent time... Don't let what's going on elsewhere enter your thoughts... Just think- hot weather - relaxation... sun.. fun.. etc.. :)

Mal, our original Monopoly were based on places around London. Last night's Monopoly was Lord of the Rings themed :D The stations were horses (I bought Billy the Pony and ShadowFax) Heehee, it was fun!

And thanks for the reassurence... though I still shake at the thought of all the fighting going on a couple of hundred miles over my shoulder.

OK, on the bad news front, my diabetic nana is in hospital again; her blood sugar's gone wild again. She's been pretty unwell recently; this is the second time she's been hospitalised with her diabeties and she's suffered from a DVT recently as well. She's 80 odd, but an old 80. Bless her, my nana's a real battleship; 3 heart attacks and breast cancer later, along with her diabeties (which isn't well controlled) she was, until recently, still going strong.

I guess that's also why I want to lose weight. Diabeties does run in my family; I'm not sure how far back. My brother and I are high on the list to get it next. If I can get my weight down, and make it a strict long term goal to avoid things high in sugar... maybe I can miss it.

(gushy thoughtsy-feelingsy bit here, feel free to skip) This is my morbid, preparing for the worst side of me working, but if my nana does pass away, the weird thing would be that my dad will have to cope with losing his mum. Although he's always turned to me, this would be the first time when I would actually have more experience in the situation than him.

On a brighter note: refurbishment. I like that word

Thanks everyone for dropping by. Have a wonderful evening.

I hope your nana gets better, i know how u feel my granny also has diabetes and it can be so dangerous. Hope you are enjoying your holiday in Cyprus!!

Hey favouritecrayon, thanks for the support. I've always known how awful it can be, but it's only been in recent times when I've seen Top Cat's grandad and sister suffer from it close up... it's not nice.

I won't be going to Cyprus til this Sunday, very early morning, but I will enjoy it, despite the fear of flying and the war zone not far away :)

Thanks all,

Bronsk

Thanks Pin, it really is doubly unfair on my dad; not only could it be his major second loss this year, but with us going to Cyprus, he's feeling really worried in case anything bad should happen while we're away.

OK, quick drive by because I need to get to town and Puck needs his medicine. But whilst in town, I'm meeting with friend and we're getting Subway. The Doom Food. For some reason the website says to avoid the tuna mayo if dieting, but the stuff at our branch is made with light mayo  It's going to be a fatty meal however we look... Plus we always stop for hand-made smoothies. Another high-cal danger zone.

On the plus side, I'm going clothes shopping, so that should be interesting.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

I'm really sorry about your grandmother's illness. You seem like such a strong person, and I know that this is a hard time for you and your family. Remember that even as you are a source of support for your father, you must take time for yourself to deal with the feelings you are experiencing and to refresh your own strength. Even the strong and silly gals need a shoulder to lean on sometimes. We'll be here if you need us.

Thanks for the kind words, twinmom, and thank you for your support as well.

Good news, though, my nana's awake and was chatting away to people last night. Her problem is that she's stubborn, and even though she can't walk as easily now, she still refuses home help, then doesn't eat much and eats the wrong things (example, Mars bars)

Yesterday was OK; clothes shopping didn't go as fantastic as I'd have liked, but I've got plenty of things in, and only 2 things in my old size (because they didn't have a size down available) which is a good step. Though I guess going shopping with someone who's a size 8 is a slight crusher  I'll put up some pictures sometime.

Foodwise... not so cool. cereal in the morning, 6" Subway (with tuna and light mayo, cheese and honey mustard... may live to regret that) and a watermelon smoothie... then tea time, I went to friend's house, where mates were making smoothies. I was going to just have one for tea, but then they pressured me into eating something solid as well, so have a marinated chicken breast (140 kcals, though) So total kcals... who knows, it's not fantastic though.

OK, I'm off to church; there's a talk about angels at the coffee morning! Then I'm going out to the shops for grubbage and stuff.

Thank you all for all of your support and caring words. It means so much to me, and I really appreciate it. Have fantastic days all of you!
