Hi everyone ! I finally decided on a goal so I thought I'd officially start my diary and my journey towards it. So the goal is to lose 5 lbs (roughly 2.3 kilos) every month until the end on 2017 to reach my goal weight of 125. This amount of weight to most people might not sound like much to lose monthly but just thinking of trying is giving me a lot of anxiety. Starting tonight I will be going to the gym and I am slowly but surely working on my nutrition. I will put my official weight and measurements in later on today.

If anyone has any advice on workout plans for beginners who have never worked out before or great recipes that could help keep me full I'd really appreciate it.
 
Welcome! And 5 lbs/month is a very reasonable goal. Most doctors will tell you between 1 and 2 lbs a week is good, so you're right on track there.

As for exercise, is there an activity in particular that you already know you like to do?

Filling recipes include soup and anything where you can add bulk with vegetables. I'll even eat a serving or two of pasta and then have a whole bunch of veggies with it and walk away stuffed.
 
Welcome to the forum. How tall are you? Your goal weight seems very low to me. If you feel anxious about losing & setting set targets maybe you could just cut something unhealthy out of your diet & make small changes to start off with.

Well in the summer I usually walk my dog, but other than that I don't care too much for sports and running is very hard on my calves. I'm trying not to eat a lot of pasta and carbs. My vegetable intake could definitely improve though. thanks !

I'm only 5 feet tall (155 cm) so I didn't think 125 was under weight. That goal is more of a direction. If I find that I like the way I look at 135 or 140 then I will stop there and keep it steady. I've already cut out fast food, most unhealthy snacks, big portions, and carbonated drinks. Now I think I want to learn proper meals with the right nutrition to keep me energized and full.
 
Since the beginning of my journey which started in october I've lost 10 pounds, now to lose the rest.



 
It sounds like you have a very reasonable plan & it's working. Congrats on the 10 lb loss :)
