The New Me, miracles of modern science...

ohhhhhhhh!! we call them "hovers" here :) they are nasty buggers, i usually last about 20 seconds before shaking uncontrollably and collapsing into a heap on the floor. Ur a brave man for doing them regularly... brave... or maybe crazy?

Cabbie, I think you might need to start a beginner's cabbie workout thread called "How to get those perfect womanly charms...the Cabbie way!"...and walk us all through what we should start doing...!!

Okay we'll start with Keigel exercises, then....
Hope you're having a good weekend :) xxx
Hey cabbie, just popping in to say hi.

Hope your weekend was fun :)
Pretty good. Got most of my projects done and hung x-mas lights on the house.

Katie, they are part of my workout as listed in theStronglift 5x5 program. He calls them prone bridges, but they are the same deal. Took me a while to get to 50 sec, might be a while longer for 60...

did a sunday workout cuz of the upcoming holiday. Didn't want to miss one this week.

Squats 5x5x205 (+5)

Bench 5x5x135

Inverted rows - 3xF (8/7/6)

Reverse crunches - 3x25

Push-ups 3xF (11/10/9)

Cardio - HIIT on the spinning bike, 15 minute session max H/R 161

YES! You've got my vote! Jay made a bunch of us into runners, now Cabs can make us all into weight lifters!

HAHahahaha I think Cabbie has other things on his mind....

I tell you, the WHOLE TONE of this place has gone down hill ;)

Somehow Jay, I expected it might be you to catch that particular comment...

Downhill? From where? I never claimed it would be anything but.

So crazy turn around thing going on for the holiday. Working the overnight shift tonight, then coming in for the afternoon shift tomorrow, but probably only stayinga few hours because the production lines will be down.

My Dad is coming down for Tomorrow afternoon and staying with us through thursday night. It will be good to have the old man around. We don't get enough time together. Then for dessert on T/G day my ex-wife's family will be coming by. This is the first major family type holiday they have had since Stephen died. They have been a wreck and its going to be bad through the holidays. We just want them to come over and relax a bit. The weight of the world is heavy sometimes.
For the record, since I was not posting here over the summer, Stephen is my ex's son... formerly my stepson when we were married. My ex and I have remained friends over the years since. Stephen was killed this summer by a drunk driver going the wrong way on an interstate highway. He missed his 26th birthday by a month.

Okay got a workout done:

Seated leg press - 5x5x350

Overhead press - 5x5x85 got all of the reps this time, no fail on the last one. I feel better now.

Rack pulls - 2x5x315 (+10) yeah... these were heavy..

Lat pull downs - 3xFx190 (7/6/5) pronated mid grip, I'm not quite as strong with this grip as with the supinated narrow. Also - Tried a pull up as well almost there...

Planks 3x55 sec - (+5 sec) okay so these left me shaking.. but they got done. My new benchmark now.

Cardio - 15 minute interval session - 7 miles

QUOTE=ecky;739538]LOL I caught on as well. I think that tig needs to google keigel exercises!!!![/QUOTE]

I know what they are! Used to LOVE them because any time I tried to do them before I had kids it used to trigger 'a little something down below'. :reddevil:[

Things just aren't the same since having kids. Either that or the muscles down there aren't as toned as they used to be.

Okay so I should not be recommending this kind of thing because y'all are gonna take me for an even biggger perv, but... Running, treadmill or elliptical + ben wa balls = sumthin special... or so I've heard...:newangel:

Oh really????? Hmmmm..... We have a couple sets of those things around here somewhere..... :reddevil:

And I thought I loved running NOW.... I may never stop!

WEll I must admit, I find running euphoric...but not quite orgasmic!!! LOL. Not sure I could keep my pace up - I'd be all spurts and stops...or does that sound more of a male problem>?!

Bloddyhell, trust Cabbie to lower the tone again!!

Non-pervy reply to your thread (sorry to disappoint, haha) - just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Happy post-turkey day everyone!

So let me see... even with gastric bypass surgery, its still extremely possible to overeat, if one just grazes all day... I started with bacon, eggs, cinnamon rolls, went through the nibbling on cookies process as my wife made home made oatmeal, PB, chocolate chip and pumpkin cookies. Then came turkey, sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes (made with real cream and butter), broccoli and cheese casserole, butternut squash, and of course, lots of gravy. This was then followed by pumkin pie, Dutch apple pie, strawberry Trifle, and finally by reheated leftovers and more cookies...

Yes, my portions were indeed much smaller than in previous years, but I'm fairly certain I still managed at least 4000 calories simply by virtue of the constant nibbling all day.

On the plus side. After my workout today, I was still hitting the scale at 243, which seems to be where I have plateaued for the last few weeks. I was chatting with a friend and we kinda came to the same conclusion though. Since I'm still consistently gaining strength with each workout (up on reps or weight every time), but staying the same weight, I must be recomping pretty well right now. I am definitely solidly into a 36 waist, which I have not worn since I was a late teen-early 20's. In those days I barely weighed over 200 lbs, so effectively I seem to be a bunch denser now. I'm happy with the results I'm seeing.

Workout Friday:

Squats - 5x5x205, I'll be here a bit longer. These still take everything I got.

Bench - 5x5x135, see squat note above, I'm absolutely garbage by the end of the last rep.

Inverted Rows - 3xF (9/8/7) +3 reps

Reverse crunches - 3x25, I think I'll go for 30 reps next time, then look for somthing more intense as an Ab/core exercise to replace them or augment them. They are not all that difficult anymore, so I feel like I need to up the resistance somehow.

Push ups - 3xF (12/11/10) + 3 reps

Okay, one thing I didn't mention in previous posts was that I was fooling around the other day at work. I grabbed one of the overhead sprinkler pipes, and did a chin up on it.. Yup... without even a jumpstart, pulled my way up through the 90 degree elbow bend and got my chin over the plane of the pipe. I then pulled it off again a little later. I was pretty stoked.

Cardio - 11.2 miles of spinning.

Hey! How have you been? It's amazing - I sometimes forget that just because I've stopped working out, it doesn't mean everyone else has too. You've changed so much since I last saw your photos. YOU LOOK GREAT! Congrats!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! :)

That certainly sounds like a thanksgiving feast Cabbie!! But the work out should help to make up for it - impressed by the chin ups!! Sometimes you just have to go by size rather than lbs I think...its the only logical thing to do. I thought that I hadn't lost much weight at all in the last 3 months...and I haven't - although have wooshed downwards now, to around 7lbs lighter than 3 months ago, but I am nearly a whole size smaller. The trousers that were tight on me then are too loose now and its not just a 7lbs difference...doesn't always make sense but there you go!

Hi Cabbie, I'm glad that you had a good Thanksgiving. I plan on eating a bit of everything at Christmas and then making up for any damage afterwards. I would be really miserable if I deprived myself at Christmas and refuse to ruin it. Saying that I know that I will eat a lot less than other years particularly chocolate which we have all decided as a family that we aren't going to buy nearly as much as we usually do. Normally we are still eating the left overs into the new year so we will just buy enough for 2 days.
Congrats on the chin ups. :)
