Wow, as if I needed further motivation... one of my clients drew a picture of me the other day. They weren't trying to be rude, but the picture is far from flattering. lol. I put it on the wall next to my desk to remind me why I'm losing the weight. I'm going to try to remember to scan it or take a picture of it today so that you all can see it. Too funny.

Yesterday was an off day. My diet was fine but when I got home from work I crashed hard and slept for a couple of hours right in my desk chair. By the time I woke up it was time for me to meet up with some friends for our weekly LOST party. So no exercise for me yesterday despite my good intentions. No worries, today is another day, and I have the additional motivation of knowing that tomorrow is my weigh-in day.

Hmm, Lemme see, how could I tell that Cerella would be in here? oh, yeah, the motorcycle... :D

HEY LOL...Good think i like you...:hug2:

We all have days of rest. You falling asleep is your body telling you , you needed it.Nothing wrong with having an off day from exercise. You mentioned client...mind me asking what oyu do for work?

Ahh ka, just read your profile page or w/e.I work in a group home as a Residential care Aid supporting developementally disabled adults:):):)

yeah schwa, don't sweat it. it WILL come off. If i posted what i ate everyday, people would wonder how i lose anything at all. but it works for me so i don't complain.

Hey Cinerelly - I'm a rehab counselor serving individuals with severe mental illness. We're kind of a hybrid program operating under the foundations of the clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation, yet with pretty strong ties to the clinical operations of our local Community Services Board. Kind of oxymoronic I think but it works. I love my job to death! Every work day is fascinating for me.

I'd be interested in hearing more about the work you do. Many of the individuals I'm working with live at group homes in the surrounding communities.

Thanks Cinderelly, Conkle and Kureransu for the words of encouragement after my little disappointment yesterday. I have no intention of letting it slow me down.

Now if you will all please excuse me, I have some exercise biking to do! :jump:

Schwa,

You've got a very nice journal going here. Definitely will be coming back to keep tabs on how you're doing.. As you said, we're in the same range of weight and weight loss goals.

Just curious, have you ever measured your body parts and recorded them? Or take any pictures? I have taken digital pictures of myself shirtless on Jan 1st, and did it again on Feb 1st. On March 1st, will do the same thing again. 2 shots- front and side. This has helped me... Maybe that would help you? :)

It seems that you're on the right track! The idea of using your jacket is a fantastic one, it sets a goal and an expectation. Well done! Will be back...

Today is weigh-in day and I officially hate my digital scale. When I first weighed myself the scale showed a difference of 5.6lbs since the previous week! Wow! But then I weighed myself several more times and the numbers ranged between 312.4 and 314.4 - a full 2lb difference!

Oh well, while the fluctuation is frustrating the numbers are great. I've lost somewhere between 3.6lbs and 5.6lbs and either way I'm headed in the right direction! And the truth is I didn’t even need to weight myself to be happy about the week’s progress, as I could already really feel the difference since last Friday. For the sake of tracking my weight loss let's just say I'm down to 314, a loss of approximately 4 for the week. :blush5:

My workout on the exercise bike last night was great. I only did 30 minutes again (all of my bike’s programs are 30 min long, can’t adjust :() but it was a hard workout that left me drenched. The first half was low resistance / super high pace, and the later half was high resistance / low pace. I really wish my treadmill was working properly, but alas.

Geoadian – I have taken some before pictures, including the one of me in my jacket, but I haven’t been taking measurements. For the most part just noticing changes in the way my clothes fit has been really helpful though, such as the motorcycle jacket, having to buy a smaller pair of pants, and the way all of my shirts feel loose. Weight loss really can be fun. Hehe. Thanks for stopping by man!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Good job on the loss! Keep it up, like i said, no worries indeed, it will come off. stay motivated!! become addicted like me. I don't feel complete without a morning workout... its like wearing a watch everyday and one day forgetting to put it on. you feel uncomfortable about it all day..

good analogy kureransu!!

re scales...i went back to the traditional salter scales as my digital ones varied so much...but like you say as long as its going down it not really such a problem.

schwa i noticed you mentioned lost. i think you might be further along than us in the uk...but without telling me the plot...is anything ever resolved??! i mean don't get me wrong i think each episode is great but each one seems almost like a mini story in itself . just when you think you'll get answers...more questions!! do you think they'll ever be able to pull all the strands of the story together for a conclusion...that makes sense?? i read somewhere that the writers knew the ending from the beginning. do you think thats true?

Baglady - I think the writers have a plot outlined but they didn't have everything mapped out. Take the "Ben" character for example. The writer's said they never planned for him to be a major part of the show but now he's central to the plot.

As for the plot, yes, some things have been resolved, some mysteries explained, but there are still plenty of other questions up in the air. My guess it that we will find the answer to most of our questions by the end of the final season, but some things will be left a mystery. And that's probably for the best.

They better explain the smoke monster though!!

Kureransu – Become addicted to working out? Perhaps. I’ve been addicted before but I was in grad school at the time and could work out at my peak energy point every day… around 11:00am. Now that I have a steady job I find it difficult to get motivated. There’s no way I’ll realistically work out in the morning, and I’m usually (but not always) drained when I get home from work. And I’m not the one staying up till all hours playing SFIV! lol :biggrinjester:

You've got the right attitude that is for sure.I love feeling like Im doing fell and that feeling of positivty and confidence by how im feeling, by how my panties/pants fit, LOL...

What is up with your treadmill?I have one as well and Im not sure if it is up to snuff, it works properlly but somethign is off with the belt.

Awesome job on the bike...I hate that sweatiness...from the bike...LOL...

Well, I'm not sure if it's because I'm too fat of if it's the motor and belt, but whenever I take a step it sticks for a fraction of a second which pretty much makes it unusable.

The same thing happened several years ago when I was like 60-70 pounds lighter, but I was able to fix it by adjusting the position of the motor and belt. This time, however, I think my fat foot is to blame, lol.

It's an old treadmill anyway. I should really think about replacing it.

I have just been reading your diary, gratz on the loss so far :) keep up the great effort :)

My treadmill is 10 yrs old and the belt sticks a bit as well...Also when I am actually using it and when I step on the sides to get off of it, it dbls in speed before it slows down, so im a lil unsure as to what is up with it and what speed im actually walking at...

Lets chalk it up to them being old!!!LOL

And NO to using that FAT word...:rant::rant:

LOL:D:D:D

I'd love to join. There were so many posts in that thread already that I just assumed that challenge was underway.

i'm glad everyone love my analogies.... what is this challenge that you guys are speaking of? I want to know!!!!

Check it out in the Club Challenge page. It's a six week challenge based on your own goals plus some standard goals. Seems like a good time... and motivating too!
