Great to hear you get along with your coworkers so well! That alone can make or break any job. Sweaty weather isn´t my favorite either (no AC in here...) and it makes me want to go out to eat all the time instead of producing any kind of heat in my apt  O well, it´ll pass and there are people out there who enjoy it (I guess) so let them have it their way for a couple of weeks (8 so far?). Liking the high-low-high approach by the way, might steal that some time.

LaMa the boyfriend has greatly reduced his pizza making since summer hit, so I guess that's a plus :) Lots of my co-workers have lake houses and boats, and of course lots of people like the beach... So yeah, let them have the heat, I guess. I enjoy winter more than most people I know, so I'll try to remember to symphathize with everyone else when I'm running around in the snow like a small child.

Hi Oaks, I like the high/low post. I might do that sometime too. You would be enjoying our Tasmanian weather right now. I'll post you some xoC

Hi Cate! I'll take any of that weather you want to give me, haha. Did you say you don't get snow? I'd miss that. The high/low post seems to be a good method! It keeps things short and sweet. The blogger I stole it from always makes sure there are more highs than lows.

High Yesterday's food was on point. My only treat was a single homemade no bake cookie, which I treated myself to after doing thirty minutes of strength training.

Low Yesterday's early morning 2.5 mile run didn't feel great. Legs were heavy, lungs felt tired. I used to be a morning runner but I think I'm transitioning into liking afternoons more, when I've had a chance to naturally loosen up.

High Today I've got a group run scheduled with my co-workers (we run together weekly). Even if the run is bad again it's good to be social.

Hi Oaks, No, we don't get snow where I live, but in Winter you could be in the snow within half an hour. I personally only like snow when it's seen in the distance! But then, I think I'm a sook!

Ahh, Monday morning. We meet again. At least I started the day out right with a run. Last week wasn't great for training, I wasn't able to finish my long run as planned on Saturday. My stomach had been giving me issues all week so I stuck to the treadmill, and was glad I did. Truthfully there was a lot of drinking this week. Might be taking a little break for a while. Scratch that, I'm definitely taking a little break for a while. It's interfering with my life and that's not ok.

I got a solid 4 mile run in this morning. Got up early and drove to a nearby park so I could run in an area I don't usually frequent. That was a nice change of pace, I may have to do that more often.

Last night I ended up bringing a treat to bed with me. It was only about 250 calories (grapes and some Heath candy bits, not eaten together) but I'm disappointed that I couldn't talk myself out of it. The G man went in to work at 10pm, which he hasn't done in a long time, and I reverted back to my sneaky eating ways. I had fought with myself for a while before giving in. Mostly it makes me angry that I enjoyed the grapes more than the candy, so why did I even bother with the candy?

great consistency with your running, we all make slip ups at times with our snack choices, try to do better next time but don't beat yourself up about it.

There's some little devil lurking in most of us that sabotages our best efforts. I don't have candy in my house any more, not even for the grandkids. Evil stuff! Great job on the running still Oaks!

Thanks Tru, I'm training for some fall races and really have gotten a good routine down. Maybe treating myself with some healthy food after my runs will help with the night time snacking, actually.... I'm not good about that.

Thanks Cate! No more candy bits allowed! And tonight I am going to hide the ones that are left in the BACK of the pantry instead of at eye level where they are now, haha.

Good thinking Oaks. I have never known what are the best foods to have before & after exercise. What is the best thing to have afterwards that is really healthy, but that you love?

Just weighed myself before and after a 3.5 mile run to see how much I was sweating. 159.8 before, 158.4 after. Now I'm off to drink enough water to replenish what I just lost!

Cate, my favorite treat after long runs on the weekend is full fat cottage cheese so maybe I'll have some of that this morning!

nice run, and great effort measuring your sweat loss, a lot of people don't drink enough.

Thanks, Q and Tru! It was a hilly run, the relay race I'm doing in September has got some monster elevation changes (we wander through the mountains and ski resorts, but end on the beach). Gotta train for those or I'll be dying!

Brrr, sounds like work! I admire anyone who does stuff like that. I´m no good with running OR elevation, let alone both at the same time.

I'm sure if people saw me running uphill they would question if I was actually 'running' but as long as I'm heading in the right direction I consider it a win :)

GREAT run yesterday. 9.25 miles at an 11:00 minute pace. Only breaks were to refill my water at the halfway point (I run with 10 oz of water but that's not enough) and to check my map to make sure I was taking a turn at the right spot. Everything just felt right. And then I ate all day because that's what happens after you run for an hour and forty five minutes. A protein shake immediately afterwards, sushi for lunch, a shrimp cocktail snack, and a cheeseburger with corn on the cob for dinner.

I am on day 7 of no booze, with one exception - G made homemade Limoncello so I had an ounce or so of that yesterday. I stocked up on soda water and elderflower syrup to make nighttime treats with, which I think will help a lot. Gotta replace bad habits with better habits, right? Can't just cut something out without a struggle.

Heck of a run! 1 drink in a week is awesome too! I've never had or heard of Limoncello so I had to look it up. I was never much of a liqueur drinker, but that sounds like a good one for summer.

A belated toast for your Limoncello:

To better habits and continued progress. Salute!
