The Journey so far

Something I am looking to incorporate is exercise in the morning. However, due to work and childcare, this is proving difficult.

However, it would mean more free time in the evening. I think I'll look into this in due course. Thanks for the advise.

All the best in your goals etc pommo

Hey everyone, here's my latest photo update. I've been on a plateau for the few weeks, but things are back on track again. Thanks again for all the encouragement :)

Glad you're back on track.

...I have to admit though.. I was sitting here playing "what's the difference between these two pictures"

1.) the machine on the cabinet changed to a bag
2.) The chair was moved to the right of the picture almost off-screen
3.)The round suitcase was exchanged with a rectangle one
4.) There's a ton more folders and binders on the bookshelf

LOL that was fun ^_^

No way...I cant believe it, thats amazing. How much did you weight when you started? And how long did it take to get here? Can you please let me know how you accomplished this, id appreciate it a lot. I have to say great job, you made quite the transformation, you look built!

Hey Emerald, I'll try and hide Wally in the next photo, that should give you something to look for.

Jumbie, When I started I was 242 lbs, as of today I'm 207lbs, my goal isn't so much a specific weight, but rather to my 6 pack back. Having said that, I'll probably get down to about 175lbs, so I've got a ways to go. As for how I've done it? I'm currently running 3km every morning, up and down hills outside as opposed to a treadmill. I'm also doing pushups and various dumbbell curls. After I get my body fat percentage down, I'm going to do a lot more bodyweight type strength exercise, I'm starting to get an urge to start doing chin ups :) As for food, I try to keep my calorie intake below 1300 calories, mainly rice, stirfry veggies, tuna, and chicken. Poached egg on wholemeal toast for breakfast and at least 3L of water every day. I'm a musician, so most of my day involves sitting in a room with a guitar in my hands, so my calorie needs aren't as high as someone working in a physical workplace.

Hope it helps :)

You've come a long way and your doing great. It might help us though if you could note the weight with picture too. That way if you haven't lost much we won't be struggling to see a difference. :D

I'm in shock the reason being, in the first photo, you had a gut, but then you just managed to not only lose the gut, but gain muscle at the same time, you seem more ripped. I always thought i had to lose weight first and then try and gain muscle. But you seem to be able to do both at the same time.

I currently have a gut, and I'm trying not only to lose it and the rest of the fat that i carry around, but i want to gain muscle at the same time. So far it doesn't seem like im gaining any muscle, or losing any fat. I am however losing weight. I started at 210, and now I'm down to 180 but i see LITERALLY NO DIFFERENCE in my body. I keep my intake at about the same you keep yours , its just turning me off, i feel like im wasting my time with the weights, and i should just focus on losing weight, than maybe bulking up.

Sorry if I'm ranting, its just, i want my progress to be exactly like yours, lose fat, gain muscle. Though i just cant figure it out.

Hey Jumbie,

Don't let yourself get down dude, we all have different genetic makeups. As far as building muscle versus losing fat goes, I'd go for losing as much body fat as you can first, then try and bulk up. How fast or slow you progress I think largely depends on your body type. As for myself, I have been losing fat, but, even back when I took the first pic, I still had a fair bit of muscle, it was just covered up by a lot of blubber, as I lose weight, what I already had is just being revealed.

Keep pushing through until you reach your goals. The biggest problem in this day and age is not that people have a lack of talent or the ability to reach their goals, it's that we've been become a microwave society. We want everything yesterday or we couldn't be bothered. Be someone who pushes through, no matter what comes your way, because that is what makes people exceptional. You can do it, just keep going forward and you'll get there.

Thx Pommo, glad to have your support and words of advice. I'm going to keep pushing forward. And i will stay updated with this thread, i wish you the best of luck, and hope you reach your goal soon enough!

Hello once again, I hope everyone is pushing forwards towards their goals. Emerald, just for you I've totally changed the location of this weeks pic :) As for me, my weight is still hovering between 207 and 208lbs. I'm not being as tough on myself as I should. On the positive though, my waist size has dropped from 34" to 33", running is getting easier (so I'm pushing myself a bit harder) and I've been gradually upping my strength work.

Anyways here's a pic for this fortnight. Have a great week guys :)

Thanks dude, but I've still got a ways to go before I hit my goals. Just have to keep focused, which is the hardest thing at the moment. It's all to easy to slip back into old habits.

:eek2: Wow, you look incredible (let's hope my boyfriend doesn't see this message :leaving: ). Congrats on the weight loss/ muscle gain so far!

Hi guys and gals, hope everyone is doing great. It's been a while since I've been on, mostly out of guilt. I got a little bit complacent for a while, but no more. It can be way to easy to slip back into bad habits.

Here's a pic of where I am at today. Currently weigh 93.6 kg ( 206lbs ) and wearing size 34 jeans. I've kept up with the exercise, but I find if I don't plan my day out properly and prepare, not just eating wise, but my to do list as well, I get bored, then I eat for something to do and you can guess the rest.

I'm back on track now so here goes, my next goal is to shed another 5kg.

Have a great week guys and keep up the good work.

Pommo, you look awesome man! :D

I hope to look half as good as you when I'm closer to my goal, although it'll require surgery on my part I'm sure :(

It's good to hear you're getting back into it after a slightly tough period. You could have quit, but you didn't and you made the decision to continue and that is what separates those that succeed from those that don't in the end :)

Well done and congrats again on everything you've accomplished so far :D

Hey all, down to 92.8kg today. Back on the band wagon ... so to speak. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming ...

I'm really impressed by your transformation so far. Keep it up. Looks like you got abs now too! Looking great! I'm with frogged, (if I eventually get an abdominalplasty) I hope to look as good as you! Nice job..

Yeah Sparks, I'm really not looking forward to getting cut up :\ I'll try to increase my strength training as I go, but no way will it be enough to make my body naturally look anything like Pommo's.

It sucks, but hey, it's what comes from living such an undisciplined life for so long. My own fault :/
