The, if not shrinking, staying the same size Midwife...

So it's weigh in day tomorrow but I got on the scales this morning anyway..
And I've apparently gained 4bls :(
Anyone know how to drop 5lbs in a day?

I had 2 satsumas for breakfast, then two mini muffins as a snack.
Going to have some soup soon, then going into town to do some food shopping. Might have a subway salad instead of the soup...
Tea tonight might be curry, or maybe chicken and rice and peppers and onions.
Need to drink plenty of liquids today because I didn't yesterday.
 
If you didn't drink much then the weight is probably just water retention. Drink plenty today and you may find that your weight will go down tomorrow. Good luck with your weigh in.
 
Well today didn't go to plan.
I've not eaten a meal yet...
I've had biscuits, fruit, muffins and a pitta pizza thingy.

Wholemeal pitta, with tomato concentrate and a little grated cheese, grilled for a few minutes.. YUM.
Although I did forget to turn the grill off and nearly burnt down the flat! :O

Anyway...

Bought some wholemeal pittas, bread, pasta.
Low fat cheese, quark, milk.
Tangerines, melons, mango, muchrooms, cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, onions and potatoes.
Low fat crisps.

fingers crossed I can keep on top of it this time.

Meal plan maybe?

Monday.
Breakfast 2 Wheat biscuits (cheap weetabix) with skimmed milk
Lunch Something salady. My mum is coming into town so I've to think of somewhere we can go to lunch that is good.
Tea Bolognaise with added veggies and wholemeal pasta OR spicy chicken and rice with peppers and onions
Snack Melba toast with philly and cucumber OR muller light yoghurts OR fruit

Tuesday.
Back out on placement hopefully, so will take a packed lunch of salady things, have weetabix for breakfast, then breaded chicken, green beans, mash and maybe swede or sprouts and a little gravy. Again fruit for snacks, or fat free yoghurts.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will all follow the same pattern as I'm in community 4 days a week from now... Really not looking forward to it to be honest.
Should be fine once I'm out there but I don't feel overly confident and I'm half expecting her to expect me to be really good at stuff, and know so much more than november, but I don't really. and I feel a bit weird about it..
 
Good luck this week - don't try to stress too much about it. I'm sure you'll do just fine!

And I wouldn't worry about the little bump in weight - like Val said it's probably water retention because you didn't drink enough the day before.

Gave up on the weigh in this morning as my eyes were so blurry I couldn't read the scales!!
I only woke up 10 minutes before I needed to set off lol

My mum bought me some electronic ones though :)
Although they put me at 207.75 tonight.
I'm going to do my weigh in on the in the morning and count that as this weeks.

I can live with 208ish on an evening, and I was expecting a bad reading because of them being new and more accurate lol.

They said 213.75 when I first got on!! I wasn't happy until Martin pointed out, not only was I fully dressed, I had two coats on too. LOL
In my rush to try them out I'd forgotten about my clothes.

Food today didn't go to plan.
Breakfast None
Lunch Steak and chips
Tea Might go the the same restaurant as for lunch if I can convince Martin :p
Snacks Two kitkats (small ones), hot chocolate, one small biscuit and a chicken pizza pitta thingy.
 
Not allowed to the restaurant because Martins a meanie bum!!!
But he's right, it'll be PACKED..
Ah well, there's always next week :p
 
I thought you were ALWAYS meant to be lighter in the morning than at night?
Cos I'm heavier :(
Which means I apparently gained 3lbs last week!!
Which I didn't eat bad enough to do!!

Although it could be due to the switch from one scale to another.
Might hop on my others and see what they say. Just so I don't feel so bad about it lol

Anyway, ate lots of pizza last night.
But not jsut any pizza!
These were pitta pizzas :)
1 wholemeal pitta bread, tomato concentrate, chicken, mushroom and low fat cheddar.
YUMYUMYUM
And now we ran out of pittas because we ate so many lol
But they're only roughly 200 calories each, and mine had protein and veg on too so it's actually really good because of the fibre in the pitta :)
Each one had half a chicken breast and a whole breakfast mushroom :)

I've also decided that mushrooms will now be called muchrooms.
As every time I type it I put a C instead of an S..
So it's official!!!!
Muchrooms it is :p

Anyway, not been up long, but I'm off to have some wheat biscuits and skimmed milk (with a big spoon of suger.....)
OK you didn't hear that last bit lol
I'll make sure it's a small big spoon :p
 
I didn't hop on the others, but got back on mine later on, after eating breakfast and going to the loo etc and its 206 so I can live with that, a 1lb gain isn't too bad.
 
BLECH! Muchrooms! By themselves I think they taste like dirt and the texture is just weird. I can handle them chopped up and cooked in something spicy because they take on the flavor of what they are cooked with most of the time. But honestly? I'd just as soon leave them be.

Maybe if I put a big spoonful of sugar on them, they wouldn't be so bad? :coolgleamA:

I LOVE muchrooms :) Much to the disgust of my boyfriend!!

So I got up nice and early today to try get back out in the community, I've been really struggling to get hold of my mentor, and I still can't this morning.

I rang 4 different numbers..

So I've given up for today. I was just going to turn up, but there might not even be enough midwives working for me to go with today, so I'm not going in.

It puts me at about 9 days down, but if they're uncontactable what can I do?!

I've told the woman at uni, and she said she'll email them for me and see what's going on.

Until then I'm just hanging in limbooooooo


I love limbo :) I used to be really good at it but nowmy belly gets in the way.
So when I'm all nice and slim again I can wear spangly bikini tops and limbo and belly dance :p

So I'm off the get some weetabix and start my day as I mean to go on.
 
Just a few minutes after that post I got a phonecall from my mentor in community...
I got off the phone and cried for over an hour!
She practically called me a liar more than once, and wouldn't let me finish a sentence and I went into uni because I couldn't face going into placement :(

I went in on thursday though and it was alright. Uni rang her and explained how I felt, so neither of us mentioned it and it seems fine again.



Bloody scales are stuck at 207.5 and won't frickin' move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having a crap day :(
Feel rubbish.
Going to make some flapjacks later and bake and eating millions of calories...

I'm going to make flapjacks that have at least one portion of my 5 a day in actually.
Plus some really dark chocolate.

I'm also tempted to go to slimming world on tuesday but I'll let you know.
 
Nothing overly bad yet.. But theres time lol

I had two boiled eggs with 2 slices of wholemeal toast and a little margarine.
Then I had a slice of toast with amrgarine, sugar and cinammon. AMAZING.

Hoping to go out tonight if we can find anything good on anywhere.
 
Well the calorie binge came in the form of ice cream...
Nearly a full tub..
About 600 calories worth *Cries*

But yeah I'm not out tonight so no calories wasted on alcohol... unless I have some at home!!

Off to make a cheese and bacon pasta type thing...
I don't know whats going in it yet.. onion, muchrooms, garlic, bacon, cheese and pasta i think. Plus anything I can throw in while I'm in there :p

Buying a juicer and the book tomorrow..

Looked at some recipes online and they seem so yummy :)
And full of lots of fruit and veggies :)

It promises 7lbs in 7 days apparently, but we shall see lol
I might add in one meal a day if needs be, but should be worth a try to budge these scales!!

I know people on here aren't big fans of fad diets and detoxes.. But I've read about a million reviews and a lot of people are reporting less cravings for bad foods, and that if you actually read the book rather than just following the "diet" plan your mindset really changes.
And in a worse case scenario, I gain any weight lost, but I also gain great recipes for smoothie/juice breakfasts/snacks.
Or even bases for cocktails!!

Glad I stopped by in time to see you interested in juicing. I am a fan. I think you might enjoy this youtube video of Dan Mcdonald. My boyfriend sent it to me the other day.
 
Ooh I might look over his other videos after this first week for some more juice ideas :)

I'm glad that you're supportive.. I had visions of coming on and being flamed really badly!

Just had a practice run with my juicer and it's alright.. Could do with a more expensive one but it'll do for now.
I can buy a better one another time if I get into it a lot.

Also..
Carrot juice is rather odd... I think I like it but I'm not sure :p

Just had my last solid meal for a week!!
Bacon, sausages, egg, mushrooms, beans and a few chips..

Oh and a chicago town pizza.

And two packets of crisps.

But thats all I've eaten all day.
Plus the carrot and apple juice.

So not too bad overall.

Had a lot of sugar free squash too.



Full day at uni tomorrow, I get to learn how to take blood!!!!
Going to go to bed now so I can get up early and juice :)
