The, if not shrinking, staying the same size Midwife...

I find out on friday if I passed or failed...
Dreading it lol
13hour shift tomorrow.
Had a really good day today, loads of veggies :)

And guess what?!
On my official weigh in yesterday..
I've lost two pounds :)

Weigh in tomorrow, but I don't think it will be as good as I hoped.
Had a chinese last night aftet getting in about 13.5 hours after leaving for work that morning.
Spent almost all day on my feet.
An amazing last shift, spent some time up in SCBU escorting a baby, removed another catheter and gave an injection :)
Sad to leave but it's not my favourite ward to be on.
Two more shifts back on my fave then no more until next year :(
Gutted :(

But yeah got in so late to say I'd left the house at 6:45am! Couldn't be bothered washing up or cooking or anything, so we ordered in. I didn't eat as much as normal and stopped when I was full, but was two pounds up this morning!!!!!!

So yeah, shopping involved some healthier stuff, mainly stuff to eat in salads and make a tomato soup.
Feeling a bit poo about weighing in in the morning now though.
Had a curry for tea, healthy sauce with lean chicken, very small portion of rice that I barely touched and the smallest naan and two onion bhajis. A cone ice cream to finish, but thats all I've eaten today I think.
Oh a packet of baked crisps, shared with my boyf so only about 60 calories there.

Not good to not each much but I didn't get up until 3pm today!! So been away a grand total of 5'5 hours lol
Got another exam tomorrow too! Plus OSCE feedback and the first lecture of the year.

Taking some fruit in with me to munch on and will have a muller light for breakfast, (I have about 20 in my fridge :p) .

Had a disarronno and coke tonight, ran out of pepsi max so it was full fat coke but I used less than half a can.

Going to drink lots more fluids tonight and weigh tomorrow anyway, but if it's the same or a gain I'll weigh on tuesday instead to compensate for the takeaway.
Was hoping for 3lbs this week too! Being two pounds down two days before weigh in!

3lbs :) :) :) :)

so 5lbs in two weeks now, if I keep it up I'll be at goal by the festival :D

Had no breakfast this morning, bad piggy!, but I ate a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich on brown bread, a clementine, two packets of baked crisps and half a mousse today. Oh and a strawberry :p
Going to make soup later on and might go to the cinema too.

I'm hopefully making soup tonight! If I can drag my snotty arse out of bed at some point!! I hate being sick!!! Well done on the 3lbs this week my lovely! That's so good :) What soup are you making? I'm doing a veggie one (mostly tomato I think) using that V8 drink!

I made tomato soup :)
Really nice, too much garlic though lol.
And a bit too tomatoey, but not in a good way, kind of like eating mushed up tomatoes...
Nice though :p

Might attempt a chicken one too... I have some fresh chicken, and chicken stock.. and onion... I have no idea what goes in chicken soup :p
Had some ice cream too, but only about 250 calories worth tops (which is good for me, I'd normally eat the whole tub), and just a couple of jaffa cakes.

I ate my soup for tea though, full of veggie goodness :)

I got on the scales again today.. I know you shouldn't but I've managed to get it down to about 3/4 times a week,it's a bit like an addiction :p

And they were a lot lower than yesterday.. Like a good 2 lbs lower... I'm not counting it as I know people fluctuate a lot day to day.. But I needed to day it out loud I think..

My daughter and me eat chicken soup all the time. We just put whatever we have around into the stock, sweetcorn, mushroom, chicken, leek, onion, garlic, carrot, cabbage and sometimes ham, prawns or boiled egg. Sometimes we break an egg into it and stir it and add a bit of soy sauce to give it a chinesey taste and add a bit of noodles or diced potato. It's such an easy meal to throw together, is filling and can last a couple of days.:)

That's an awesome loss Piggy! Good for you!

I know they say not to weigh every day - but I do it almost every day anyway. Some days I just can't help myself.

Whats wrong with my breakfast quavers?! :p

I've just stopped eating so much crap.. Not counting or anything.
Eating brown bread, more veggies and fruit than I was and much less cheese.
Also next to no chocolate!!
And healthier crisps, such as quavers :p

Also, going wrong 10am til 10pm without any food....
Only done that once though
and I have the best excuse ever!!!!

I witnessed a birth today :D
Took her from the antenatal ward to delivery suite and stayed with her for hours until she delivered.
It was amazing/fantastci/brilliant/wonderful/rewarding/everything you can think of :D

So yeah I ate a takeaway :p
But I'm back on it tomorrow :)

EDIT.. I'm going to Sonisphere in Knebworth :)

Congratulations on passing! :D:D Thats soo cool!

Seeing a baby being born is special, and also brings a lot of memories back if you have ever had kids!
Man i forgot all the painful hard work it was until i helped my friend give birth, and I had to actually leave the room because i felt light headed! Once i was over that I was fine :D

Awww it was amazing :)
I stopped by the postnatal ward during visiting on the off chance she was still in and she was :)
So I got a little cuddle, and spoke a little more to mum and dad.
Told them I'll deliver their next :p

Aww.. I still feel all warm and bubbly inside about Baby :)
The couple were so lovely. And the baby is insanely cute!!
I GOT A CUDDLE :D

eeeeeeeeee

But yeah. OT lol
After my takeaway,, despite the scales showing 203 the day or so before, they were back up to 208 *faints*
But this morning they're back to 206 ish, so hoping I can pull of a 1lb loss on monday, which not as good as last weeks 3, but puts me on 2lb a week average still.

Food so far today = shocking.
2 chocolate orange biscuit bar thingies 270 cals
3 squares of flapjack 250 cals
1 bun 80 cals

So yeah. I've been up less than 2 hours and consumed 600 calories of crap!!
Tomato soup later me thinks! Which some of this lovely wholemeal bread, is feels and looks and tastes healthy, and it is! It's yummy, big thick slices so I can only manage one so I'm not crippled by calories.
Dinner is something chickeny, unless it's gone off again. I bough some chicken breasts, and froze them three days before the use by date, then when I got them out, just one or two days after that said, to defrost, they stunk! They'd gone off!!
Probably spicy chicken and rice. Which is basically, chicken cooked in a spicy flavoured powder, like those ones you get in mexican kits, with chopped peppers and onion, mixed in with brown rice.
Any tips on how to make rice not gloopy and stick together?

I just had to come on here and post that I had a dream about you last night! The phone rang and I answered and the other person on the other end was chatting away and I was going ok, who ARE you???? And you said "Oh, you may know me as Redpiggy from the weight loss forum!" then you hung up on me! LOL!

As for the rice - are you rinsing it VERY well before you cook it? I think that helps so that it's not all sticky. Although personally I like it a little sticky myself.

Edited to add: So awesome about seeing the baby being born. MAGICAL!

lol That dream sounds amazing :p
Sorry for hanging up on you though! :)

I always rinse the rice.... Maybe I'm cooking it too long.. It's so mushy and gross sometimes. Although I'm usually pretty good with brown rixe which is what we're having tonight at least.

I forgot to say!
I made chilli :)
From scratch!
Lean mince, chopped tomatoes, then I blended a tin of chopped tomatoes too, added chilli powder, cinnamon, kidney beans and tomato puree, a little sugar and hey presto.
Chilli :)
Needs a little work but it was nice :)
