Instead of completely eliminating things from your diet, try just modifying your diet a little bit.

I love mashed potatoes too, and the potatoes themselves are not as horrible as everyone believes. However filling them with butter, cream cheese, salt, and/or sour cream can double the calories that t hey contain.

I suggest removing some of the condiments you add on to your food to begin with. Stop putting salt on your food, reduce the butter or sour cream you put on your potatoes. Switch to a multi-grain pasta rather than just the normal. Some of these changes may seem minor but they can add up and you'll probably see a good result because of it!

Walked about 2 miles last night, it was great! That and fireworks :)


Thanks for the advice! I figured it wasn't essential to cut them out completely. I've already been cutting down what I put on things. It makes a huge difference!

I ate Wendy's yesterday. I had brought a Smart Ones to work (addicted to those things! And then found we had an ant infestation (flying and crawling... all over the place... the floor was moving!) and I couldn't use the break room. So, my bf took me out to Wendy's. I had the Asagio Chicken sammich, which is better than I baconator I would assume, though it can't be wonderful. I'm not a huge fan of salads from fast food places, perhaps I should learn to be!

Working today until 5:30. Hoping that bug problem is taken care of!
 
*shudders* that ant problem would drive me nuts! :S

Anyways, I know what you mean buying salads at a fast food restaurant feels kinda weird, but they're actually not that bad. I know the Caesar salad at McDonald's is actually pretty decent and as long as you don't pile on the dressing is moderately good for you too!

Anyways, keep trying to make those healthy choices, and exercising!

Working until close again. I'm really digging the Smart Ones meals... is it realistic to switch breakfast to one of those as well? Hmm, things to ponder on.

I've started doing crunches before bed. I can really only get 20 before it hurts, but then I read for a bit and after that do 10 more. Can't wait to get those numbers up!

Mom and dad have the pool up, and I'm visiting them today. Gonna get some work in there!
 
they have a great food tracker on Sparkspeople....


I really like it because it just breaks everything down in to allowances...so you know how much fat..carbs...calories...etc. I just stay in my "ranges" for the day and it seems to have been working for me...I am almost down 30 pounds since April with moderate exercise.

Woke up 4 hours earlier than usual this morning, not sure if that changes what's on the scale or not. I know I'll be exhausted all day! I want to try the new workout video my boyfriend got me, but I haven't had the time! Gonna make time today.

Another crazy early wake up day. I tried the workout video last night, and I decided I'd watch it through once because I was so worn out from work. I ended up falling asleep x.x

Thinking about it, I really still lack motivation. I feel like I'm paying attention to what I eat, and I want to exercise more to lose weight, but I just can't get myself to do it. I always have excuses, most recently being too hot or too tired. I have to get over this!
 
Exercising is fun! Once you'll start you'll start having more energy, you'll enjoy it and you'll see some great results. Get that workout video done today! You can do it! :D

I ate so much crap yesterday (one of those, the last of what's in the fridge days...) Two of my meals were 570 calories each! We also went for two long walks though. It's nice to see the numbers actually going down again, it helps a bit. Hopefully I can keep them going that way!
