The Coffeebro Before, During and soon to be After

I ride my bike to work 4 to 5 times a week, about 8 miles round trip, and I work out at the gym 6 times a week. I do 30 mins of cardio, ie treadmill and stairs, and 30 mins of light weights. As for diet, I just cut my calories down to around 1500 a day.

Those last few pictures compared to the ones on the first page? WOW! totally amazing transformation, you look like a different person. Very well done =)

This forum is great! Yet another awsome transformation! You truly have to give many people hope, and from the pages of your thread and many others, guidence. You look great. My goal is to lose 100 pounds. I am currently 285, want to return to "glory days" of 185(haven't seen since 98'). I know I should set smaller goals along the way, so what are some realistic goals for results to be achieved over a month? 3 months? 6 months?

Thanks man. Well, I was losing about 10 pounds a month at first, very commen at that weight. I broke it down into weeks though. I was losing around 3-4 pounds a week. Now I am down to around 2 pounds a week. After 6 months on my program I lost around 60 pounds. There are 2 things that I HIGHLY recommend everyone to do. One, keep a food journal. Log all your calories for everyday. Two, make sure you exercise regularly.

Thanks for the advice. 3-4 # per week should be attainable pretty easy starting out. I yo-yo ten pounds frequently. As for a food journal...starting one. As far as excercise, I'm going to lift three days a week alternating upper and lower body, and do 45 min cardio 5 days per week (eliptical/treadmill/interval running). Sound like a good starter program?

Sounds great, just be aware that if you lift a lot of weight you will be building muscle and that weighs more than fat. So dont get too disheartened if you dont lose really quickly. Also a HUGE piece of advice. DRINK TONS OF WATER!!!!!!!! I drink a minimum of 80 oz a day.

I am one of those "weight is just a number" guys. I guess I said "lose 100 pounds" because that is easily measurable. I'm not too concerned with weight, more about how I look/feel. If I lift and get built up pretty well, and maybe even defined(hold my breath there), I don't think I'll care about what the scale says. But thanks for telling me that, if I don't see the numbers move how I think/WANT them to, I will keep that in mind and not be to discouraged. Is there a magic formula for how much water to drink? Or protein to eat for that matter? Or even still, daily caloric intake? Man, seems like a lot to set up and take in. I'll be sure to look around in the forum for sound advice. Any good suggestions on a program to follow or website...? Sorry for all the questions man. When I was an athlete(hockey), we just new to pound the protein and lift like hell.
