Thanks for all the welcome backs!
Steve, health care in the US is terrible in general and worse in an isolated rural locale. It will cost me over $1,600 to use my insurance for my MRI and over $500 if I pay for it out of pocket. I'm fortunate in that I can pay that on short notice, but even being employeed as a Biologist with "good" insurance I don't know what I'll do if they say I need surgery. It sucks!
Anyway on to more posiive notes. My blood pressure has steadily gone down since the pain has subsided. Today was near optimal at 186/78.
I biked 6 miles yesterday on the fixed gear bike.
I biked with my cousin yesterday and stayed at his house to hang out last night. I ended up eating meat because that's what he had and I had baked fish one day last week because I failed to bring a lunch in the field. Overall I am doing well being vegetarian, but I need to work on eliminating some junk and eating less.
I plan on making cheese this evening and riding my spin bike or running. I still have the muscle pain and soreness and the bike ride has my legs a little sore. I don't know if running will make me hurt at this point or not, but i do want to get back to it soon.
I don't intend to weigh for a while as I have 2 meds that can cause weight gain. I will keep monitoring my blood pressure and get more exercise. I also need to reign in some bad eating habits. I can do all this without a scale. I'm rather stressed about the outcome of the MRI and my bloodwork, but hopefully I can alieviate that in a healthy way and get healthy without too much medical intervention. I have the MRI tomorrow and a follow up to discuss the results of it and my blood work the following week.
