A lot of where I went today was mature pine forest on Saturday when I drove past it, but today it was a complete clear cut. Not much shade when they've killed everything that was standing.

So I finished 3 miles of pipeline today! Uplands make all the difference. I get the weekend off this weekend and a 3 day weekend with good Friday off. Things are looking up.
I want to get the calories back on track and once this project is done I will get back on the bike. I forgot to weigh in this morning with a too early start to the day (5AM). I was 324 a couple days ago and although I wanted to be 299.2 today, it's likely healthier that I'm not. 10 weeks from 345 to 324 is 21 pounds lost. That's 2.1 pounds a week which is slightly above the max healthy fat loss rate. With around 3 months of weightloss, losing at 2.1 pounds a week is acceptable. Actually I was at 349.2 3 moths ago so that is 25.2 which is 1.9 a week but includes my holiday backslide. Regardless 2 pounds a week is appropriate and I need to accept that and keep moving forward.
At this rate I will be at my weight loss goal for my bike in a little more than 12 weeks. Hopefully it won't take that long, but it probably will.
Right on, Quercus. I think we all want those big numbers because we all just want to hit our goals, but we do need to remember that more than 2 lbs a week is considered unhealthy.
I'm glad your work seems to be going better. I know you can get back into the swing of things one you get back to your more typical routine.
YAY for the weekend off!!
I hope you have a happy weigh in day (unlike me) boohoo!
& join the new challenge!!!! would be awesome to have you on board!!!
I finished at 324.2 which is a 6% and 20.2 pounds lost in 10 weeks.
The really good news is that my belly measurement this morning was a total loss of 9" inches! That's a huge drop. I believe the last measurement I took was 6" and that was a couple weeks ago. I remeasured a dozen times and they all where within a half inch of -9".
When I set my loss goals for my new bike I thought that 50 pounds and 10 inches would be close to the same amount of weightloss. That hasn't been the case. With all of my exercise starting with the hour a day on the spin bike and escalating to the current field project I have lost 9 of the 10 inches, but only 25 of the 50 pounds.
That means fat loss and muscle gain which is great!
It also means that I am only one inch away from my new bike!
I'm also 1 inch and a little more away from 50% of my long term goal to be less than 40" around the belly. a <40" belly circumference gets me out of significant increased risk for weight related health problems.
That is AWESOME, Q!! You knew that all the crazy hard field work had to pay off. You could have been eating cream puffs all day and maintained weight, burning as many calories as you were out in the field!
By the way, it's time to take my name out of your sig line... use the space for YOU. You've earned it, my friend.
Looking forward to seeing what the next 3 months of the Challenge brings us.
Mr. Vee the measurements seem to indicate that. I wish I wouldn't have neglected to measure more often as it would have provided some much needed motivation. I'll be doing that each Saturday from here on out.
Don I appreciate the offer, but a deal is a deal. I think it will be even better motivation to be cheering a rival team member. I feel like I can handle the physical part of this project much better now and so it's time to reign in the calories. I'll cover that 2.8% in no time. If you are awesome and I kick your butt in this contest, what does that make me?
Congrats on losing all those inches! I just discovered today while I was out clothes shopping that I also lost some inches. It's a fantastic feeling isn't it? Good luck in the challenge! Looking forward to competing with you.
323.8 this morning. Down .4 from yesterday and -25.4 and 7.3%. Measurement was still the same which made me happy. I was afraid that I'd wake up this morning and it would have somehow been a fluke and I'd be inches bigger.
Here is a sketch I did yesterday. The red wasps start to be a real hazard this time of year. I haven't drawn anything in a very long time. It's rough, but it still turned out better than expected.
Just stopping by to offer some support! I see you are in the challenge with us and wanted to cheer you on a bit (even though we are on different teams )
Nice on the drop!! That sketch is so awesome! What else do you draw? I'm totally useless in drawing, I can create magic with photo's(being a photographer) but drawing is so not my strong point
