So I am being completely counter intuitive right now...I'm eating chocolate while writing my post. Feel like a hand should reach out from the computer screen and slap me across the face a few times.
My workouts were minimal today as I didn't feel well most of the day. And of course, now that I'm feeling better, I'm snacking on chocolate 'cause I feel like I need a sugar kick. No excuse, right? And yet, I still reach for another handful... Ok..that's it. Closing bag right now! (Pause for dramatic effect)
Chocolate sealed and out of line of sight. Must focus on issue at hand.
On a side note, I've been taking a nutrition class and learned something really interesting today. My professor said that when you plateau on a diet, it means that the diet is working. How can that be? you ask. Well, apparently what is happening when you plateau is that your body is finally digging into your reserve "fat" for energy instead of just utilizing the energy you are feeding it each day. Fat reserves, according to her, take longer to register on the scale but when they do, it is significant. I thought that if we all keep that in mind when we hit those dreaded plateaus, it will keep us working at it.
Also, I have a new deadline for looking good. June 5th. On June 5th, my high school sweetheart and first love is getting married. He didn't come to my wedding as he was sad because he thought we would one day end up together and he just couldn't watch me marry someone else. However, now that he has a someone else, my hubby and I will be attending. So I have to look amazing as he has never seen me overweight a day in my life and I cannot let THIS be the first time he has seen me in years. Goal is to knock his socks off, make future wife a little jealous, and make husband feel like he won the lottery with a beautiful wife on his arm. I've already sketched the dress I will be making but have to wait to make it until May when my size will be significantly smaller.
That is exactly 145 days from now. If I can manage to cut calorie intake by 1000 calories a day (No More Chocolate) and exercise for a minimum of 750 calories burned, then I should be able to drop a half a pound a day. Over the course of time, that will be 72.5 lbs and land me around 150 or a size 10. It won't be my ideal weight but it won't matter as long as I am toned, tan, and looking pretty. So here's to yet another driving force behind me!
