The Awful Truth

Good job on having both aspects in line today! It can be very hard to have both perfect. I had the same problem where I could eat awesome but not exercise, or exercise but then blow it on the food. So it's tough for sure, but now that you've done it, you'll be able to do it more often!

Yesterday was my first really good day this year. Hit all my goals between working out and food intake. Now if I can just repeat that for another 8 months or so, I'll be at my goal weight.
... yesterday I proved that I CAN do both and I WILL do both.

Veronica, I think you're new plan of attack: eating well, working out, and shooting for a half lb loss a day, sounds good. I think you can do it. Each day that you're consistent and successful it will just build momentum.

TuttiFrutti - Thanks for the encouragement!

Camy - It's good to know that I'm not the only one who falls prey to making poor dietary choices while watching overweight shows or posting on this blog.

Risty - So far so good. It's been 3 and half days and I'm on track with diet and fitness so we'll see how nice the scale is to me this week. Though I do have a weigh in for the Biggest Loser Challenge starting tomorrow.

BellyOff - Your enthusiasm is so contagious. Thanks for reminding me that momentum does yield results down the line.

So I just got off the treadmill. Did 60 minutes at 2.0 mph on a 10% incline. Burned 500 calories and feeling pretty good so far. Gonna rest, get some protein in me and then start my weight lifting segment before returning to do another 2 miles on the treadmill tonight. I almost forgot how addicting exercise can be.

Calories for the day and right on track. Should hit all my goals if I keep to my set menu and not stray. Will have to remind myself that even though I'm exercising, it doesn't give me the green light to eat junk.

Had a great day with the hubby yesterday. It was our first warm and sunny day in weeks so we spent all afternoon out back with the pups. Was good to unwind and spend some quality time with him. Plus, when he is around, I'm very cautious as to what I eat because I want him to see how well I'm doing. I leave my food journal on the counter all the time so he occasionally checks it out to make sure I'm eating enough (not starving myself) or staying away from the empty calories (soda).

Alright then, of to eat and lift weights. Hope everyone else is having a good day!

You sound right on track! Good job :D I too am doing the biggest loser challenge tomorrow, so I'll see ya there! lol

is it sick that I find this cute?? lol, I really have no idea, but as soon as I read it, I thought, awwwww! I think I'm just jealous. See ya tomorrow for BL challenge! WOO!

Nice one on keeping up the good food... and on the exercise :) sounds like a good combination!! The quality time with hubby sounds nice. xx

Great effort Veronica :D

That 10% incline is a pretty steady burn, so kudos to you for beasting through it! And then another 2 miles afterwards? Awesome dedication!

Jess393 - WooHoo! I'm glad to be paired with someone that I know, so to speak. I already know that you are the mistress of the elliptical so I have no doubts that you will carry your 'weight' in this challenge. I'm up to about 2 and half hours or working out a day and am trying to build to 4 by the end of next month so we'll see how that goes. Plus, I'm kicking butt on my calories, balancing carbs and proteins, as well as water consumption! We can do this! Go Black Team!

Ugh. Had just written long post about yesterday and it somehow went poof into cyberspace. Don't have the time to rewrite it now so let's just say I'm on track and feeling good!

Alright. Time to find my last bit of energy and get my last workout of the day done. Was doing awesome earlier and then, somewhere around 6:30-6:00, all energy drained from my body and all I want to do right now is crawl into a hot bath and soak my aching muscles.

Food has been good for the day. Still have enough calories left to eat a small meal after final workout. Sketched out overall goal plan and as long as I can maintain this pace for half this year, all my weight loss problems will be history. Every time I even think about picking up a pizza or grabbing a Dr. Pepper (my favorite) or eating a piece of candy... I'm going to ask myself if it is worth it? Is it worth getting distracted from this mission and not getting to my goal? Six months is a short time compared to the rest of my life.

Do I want to keep living this way? Do I want to avoid the mirror in the hall? Do I want to keep hiding behind people in pictures? Wouldn't it be nice to wear a swimsuit with pride at our next pool party here at the house? Must remember all the things that are more important than a plate of nachos or bowl of ice cream. After all, I don't have to give them up for the rest of my life, just six months. Then I can eat them every so often as long as I'm maintaining my weight.

So dear sweet yummy foods, it is time to say goodbye. I'm going to pretend every donut, snickers bar, and french fry has left my world on vacation. I'll be seein' ya in the Fall!

Second workout: Painful

One last good meal for the day: Yummy

Hot relaxing bath: Soothing

Being able to call it another great day: PRICELESS!

I'm glad I got paired with you also :) I have wanted to start going to the gym twice a day for a while... however I have such an effed up sleep schedule I never make it, lol. Thinking of looking into one of those bike stand thingys for my mtn bike. Could set it up in the living room, watch tv, and get some use out of the bike  god knows it could use it, lol.

I'm gonna try to knock the sugar outta my diet too... its bad. I hate feeling like I need chocolate to be satisfied.

GO TEAM BLACK! WOOO!

Day 21:

Good morning rainy day and oh so sore muscles! Wanted to sleep in this morning but hubby reassured me that it will all be worth it so I need to get my arse outta bed and get to work. Already had breakfast (225 calories) and bottle of water (16oz) and am ready for first workout of the day. Problem is, I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for?

Haven't done my Wii Fit or Active in a while but that, to me, is a great 'filler' for the middle of the day, not some serious cardio burning! I did some DDR last night as well as an hour on the bike so maybe a kickboxing video would be good. The one thing I know about myself and cardio workout DVDs...if I don't get them out of the way in the AM then I won't get to them at all! Hmph. Guess a video it is!

Hello

Hi Veronica

I started reading your journal because we almost have the same name. I kept reading because alot of what you feel I feel too. I just wanted to say hi and let you know that I enjoy reading your post you are a great writter and I like your humour. I look at your workouts and wow I have a hard time working out 15 min a day, I better get my butt in gear lol. I am planning on loosing 60lbs for my 31st birthday in August and reading journals like your is a real inspiration for me!:cheers2:

YAY! Another DDR fan! I love my DDR however since I got my plasma it doesn't work so well on it. It refreshes too slow so it looks like you're always doing good, or getting boo's when in reality I'm not that bad! So my husband put our tv on game mode, and I think it makes the picture smaller so it can refresh faster... that's what I think it does anyways. So yeah, I have to test that out to see if it makes a difference. If not, I'll have to buy DDR for the XBox 360.
