The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

Thanks ladies!

The day off is just what I needed I think because I feel amazing and powerful today!!! I ran a little over 3 miles, did my upper body weight training according to my exercise plan, AND did the bodyweight challenge!!!

Feeling AWESOME!

Hubby got a bit of a rude awakening today. I was telling him about this article that I'd read that says men who have a waist over 36 inches are at more than double the risk of developing diabetes. He said no problem! I wear a size 33 in the summer and 34 in the winter. I told him don't count on it because over the years due to vanity sizing of clothes, men's pants are actually about 4 inches smaller than what their actual waist size is. Surveys show that the inseam has never changed over the years, but the waist has.

Well, he didn't believe me, so I went and got a tape measure. His waist is 38 inches! He was NOT HAPPY! Now all of a sudden this evening he's asking me how many calories are in all these different foods that he's eaten today. I don't think the risk of diabetes bothers him so much as the fact that his 'boyish figure' isn't what he's always thought it was! Of course he says I'm partly at fault for being such a good cook! LOL! I just laughed and said yea, I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that you drink 6 to 12 cans of Pepsi a day, and eat candy bars for breakfast every morning! :Angel_anim:

I guess those inches sneak up on the men just like they do us women.

LOL!
And that's so interesting...I thought men's clothes were immune to the vanity sizing issue. Who knew?

At least your hubby will probably drop those inches fast and easily. All he'll have to do is give up that Pepsi and candy. So unfair!

WOW! That's a lot of soda and candy he eats. I bet he'd drop inches like crazy in one month of eating right! His body would go into shock!

Hubby has been in the hospital a few times (couple times for kidney stones, and once for blood clots) but every time he goes in, his blood pressure starts dropping really low and the docs start freaking out. He always says what do you expect? You take away my caffeine, my salt, and my sugar - what do you really think is going to happen???? LOL!

I was in SUCH a good mood today! I went shopping on my lunch hour today and bought a couple pairs of jeans, 3 new skirts, a couple dresses, and several tops. The jeans and skirts were a size 6!!!!!!! :coolgleamA: The tops and dresses were size 8 though (dang boobs!) but I'm still pretty happy with what I got. Then after work I stopped at Big Lots to look for a shelf for hubby to put his DVDs on (it's driving me nuts that they are piled all over) and saw that they had bras there. Just for the heck of it I looked. $5 for them! And they had 36D, which looked a little big. I tried them and they fit! They were all from some Delta Burke collection, but maybe that's what I needed - bras made my a chestie woman FOR a chestie woman. I was a little bummed the other day when I had to go up a cup size to find something that fit. Now I'm happy I can say I'm in a 36D! YAY! And they are made so that I can actually move around without falling out of the dang things!

When I got home tonight I locked myself in my room and tried on all my new clothes again. I was feeling awesome and super sexy! So I put on one of the new bras (black lace - I haven't had a black lace bra in forever!) and matching panties (french cut or boy cut? Not sure what you call them these days) then put my clothes back on thinking I could attack hubby later and he'd be nicely surprised to find my new sexy undies. I got the kids to bed a little early, then went to find hubby. He was just rounding up his pool stick and heading out the door! He was supposed to sub for someone in a make up game tonight and forgot to tell me. :cuss: I was NOT happy! So now I'm sitting here by myself, pouting, drinking a glass of wine and wondering why the heck I even bothered???

Size 6 togs and a 36D bra?
Get outta here!!!!

That's great and I'm so glad you treated yourself to a little spree. A girls' gotta have well-fitting clothes, after all!

As for the sexy new undies - if your husband knew what he was missing out on that night, he probably would have done an about-face at the door and stayed in.. ..

At any rate, as Sunflower said, you can always get him to keep his "pool cue" at home tomorrow night. lol!

...the reason you bother, is because if you don't, who WILL!?

...it's all for us. It's always for us. :grouphug: We have to bother, so others will too. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't come aligned at the same time.

...Chin up, dear! You are HOT and your BOOBS thank you!!! :D!

LOL Rox and Alta! You guys crack me up!

Well, hubby's pool cue is definately staying home tonight - He's too tired to move this evening. :reddevil: He knew at lunchtime today that I was kind of mad at him for ditching me last night, so when I got home from work tonight he was waiting for me as soon as I walked in the door. He'd sent the twins to visit his parents and the older girls hadn't gotten home from school yet. So I completely forgave him of course.

He scored even more browinie points later when he said he'd make supper while I went for my run. He NEVER cooks!!! I felt SO amazing on my run - talk about an exercise high! It was great! By the time I finished my 3 miles, he had the kids sitting down and eating. I sat down to eat with my sweaty running clothes on. When I finished I went to change and wash up a little while the kids finished eating. Hubby followed me and we ended up going for round 2. That NEVER happens any more!!! I was going ok, who are you and what have you done with my husband???

I need to hit they hay because I have to work in the city tomorrow. I have a feeling that it's going to be a FABULOUS day tomorrow! And I'm going to wear some of my new size 6 clothes!!! YAY!

Twice in one evening?
That must be SOME underwear, girl!

No- I take that back! It's that new, toned body inside the fancy underwear that's got your hubby going like he's 30 again. Amirite?

Wow I am so jealous of the size 6 clothes!! That is a huge success!! Post some pics if you get a chance! Keep it up Tig!

Rox, I think you are right - it's the changes to my body that has hubby so interested again. Although his behaviour yesterday was more like something from his late teens or early 20s, not 30s (he's going to be 49 in a couple of months). He had to have reconstructive bladder surgery done in his mid 20s, which he says completely changed how sex felt for him. Because it didn't feel as good any more, he became less interested in it. We married when I was 18 and he was 30, and after the first week of what I considered to be normal, typical newly married honeymoon behaviour he said he was sorry, but I was gonna kill him. He couldn't handle sex every day like that. For the last 19 years I guess we've just dealt with it and we've gotten used to me always wanting it more than him. Sure there have been some frustrating and disappointing days for me, but it hasn't been THAT bad. He tries at least. I just take it when I can get it! :coolgleamA:

Yesterday was a LOOOONG day. I worked in the city, then had a ton of shopping and errands to do, then the 70+ mile drive home on super icey roads last night had my nerves frazzled and I was exhausted. I was tempted to bail on the work out, but then hubby came up to me and was admiring my new outfit and asked if I was sure I wasn't down to the size I was as a freshman in college? I said I didn't think so - not quite yet. So he comes up to me and runs his hands over my back, waist, ribs, hips and says "Hmmm... I knew the sexy little wife I married was still in there somewhere!"

It made me feel so good, and gave me just the boost I needed! So I changed into work out clothes and did my lower body weight training as per my exercise plan, then did the bodyweight challenge as well.

Then I sat down to read some journals and post, but nodded off on the couch! I gave up and just went to bed.

OH! Almost forgot! Something a bit weird happened to me yesterday at work. I was in the bathroom and was just washing my hands when a coworker came in. She said "I just can't get over how skinny you've gotten!" and as she walked past me she put her hand on my hip and ran it up to just under my boob! Then she kept walking and went into the bathroom stall. I was going to thank her for the compliment, but her rubbing her hand on me really threw me - I was speechless - so I ended up just walking out and going back to work without saying a word. It just felt so awkward for some reason.

I'm SO glad today is Friday. We have a busy weekend ahead though. Hubby is on the volunteer fire department and they are throwing a Valentines ball on Saturday night. We have to help set up and I have been told that if I don't make my famous pasta salad to bring for the supper, people will never forgive me! LOL! Then on Sunday morning we'll have to help clean up from the dance in the morning, and in the afternoon the kids have a 4-H meeting.

I am bound and determined not to let the busy schedule get in the way of my work outs though!

We'll see how that actually goes though of course!

Work week finished - check!
3 mile run - check!
Healthy, low cal supper - check!

So now I'm relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine, while my 7 year old is giving me a foot massage in return for a Hershey chocolate bar (yes, I'm not above bribery!) and ready for the weekend.

When I got home from work tonight I pulled up to the house and got out of my car to find the twins crying hysterically. They were so upset that it took forever to get them calmed down enough to understand what they were point at and crying about. Apparently about a week ago hubby stuck and old pair of boots into one of the many snow piles around our yard as a joke. The twins found them for the first time today and thought someone was dead and buried in the snow. I could not believe how traumatized they were over the whole thing. Poor babies...

awww bless the twins!!!

So cool that ppl are noticing you are getting fitter!! how cool is that!!
i wanna be there already!!!

keep up the good job! :)

Hi Justina! :waving:

It won't happen overnight, but it WILL happen! Just keep at it and you'll get there too!

Today is a new day with a NEW NUMBER!!! I love new number days!!! WOO HOO!!! So when I stepped on the scale this morning the new number I got to see was 133.8! I know I've said that I'm not putting as much focus on what the scale says, but it still just makes my day every time I see a new low number on it!

I fully expect it to go up by tomorrow though because today is my hardest weight training day and it usually does bump up by several pounds by the next morning. I love the results I'm seeing though! I'm actually starting to get some muscles! And you can actually SEE them! I spend WAY too much time in front of the mirror lately flexing my arm, shoulder and back muscles. I just keep thinking WOW! I can't believe that's really me! That LOOKS SO COOL!!!!

Hi Tigs! It's been so lovely to catch up on your diary :) Thanks again for checking up on me too!
The new bras sound so awesome, and bonus that they're sexy too! I used to find that the only ones that actually fely comfy and supportive were always hideous!
I love the Hershey Bar bribery! My hubby is always trying to vulture massages out of the kids, but I score way more because I never ask! Lol
That IS kinda weird the woman rubbing your side Tigs... I would have felt really uncomfortable with that. I'm not a touchy person though at all. Even weirder that it was in the toot/bathroom!

CONGRATULATIONS on being a size 6. Far out! And 133.8? That's TINY!!!

I'm so happy things are going well for you :Angel_anim:
Hope next week is just as good :)

Way to rock the 130s Tigpuppy. Check out my food today in my diary. Feasting and fasting. Gonna go check out our bodyweight routine chat thread. See you around.

Hi Jess and Kelly! Thanks for the lovely comments! I was putting off working out earlier, but came on here and read what you wrote, and it gave me the umpf to get off my butt and get moving.

I did my full body weight training, plus the bodyweight challenge. I was feeling really weak and tired afterwards.

Then came the munchies. Hubby and I decided that he would go in and work at the Valentines Ball and I'd stay home with the girls. We are having a movie marathon and I feel like I could eat anything and everything in sight.

So far I've eaten what was on my meal plan for the day, plus a couple extra chocolate chip muffins that were left over from the kids' breakfast this morning. I'm thinking I should just go to bed so I don't get myself into trouble eating wise, but I promised the girls that they could stay up later tonight for our movie marathon.

I just hope I an resist the snacks...
