Thanks for stopping by everyone! I'd trade any one of you for the weather we've been having. Today was the first day in I can't remember how long that the temp got above zero. We've been snowed in for 3 days now. The county plows MIGHT be out our way by tomorrow sometime to get our roads opened up. I sure hope so because I REALLY need to get out of this house!
Foods were great today, maybe even a tish low on the calories. I ran my 3 miles, then did the bodyweight challenge for the first time. I usually do push ups from the knees, but I'm trying them regular style for the challenge. Man, they're tough! And the wall sits? KILLER!!! And who knew that standing on 1 leg could be such a workout? My muscles feel all wobbly like jello now.
I had to really talk myself into working out tonight. I had shoveled the walkway from our house all the way to my in laws house and was tired to start with. I kept thinking that missing one day of working out wasn't going to kill me. Besides, I'd been SO GOOD for the last month! Right? Well, I know too that once I start allowing myself to miss work outs like that, it all goes downhill fast from there for me. It gets too easy to keep making excuses until next thing I know I'm never working out at all! I'm afraid if I let myself get out of the daily habit, I'll never find my way back again to being faithful to myself with my workouts.
The twins were so cute tonight while I was making supper. They were playing together and I was eavesdropping and heard one say it was time to work out. The other one goes YAY! Work out time! Let's lift weights! They were doing chin ups on the overhanging bar counter, using canned goods for hand weights, and doing hanging leg lifts on the dining room chairs. They were counting reps 1, 2, 3, 14, 61, 23, 10! It made me laugh. I hope they keep that attitude their whole lives that working out is fun play time and not inconvenient or hard work that we feel we HAVE to do.
And I hope some of that attitude rubs off on me!
