Haven't posted in my journal in a few days. Been spending too much time reading and commenting on others when I've had the time to be on the computer.
Monday I was really worried about staying on track food wise, but the minute I walked in and saw the reaction on my best friend's face it made it easy to behave all day. I LOVE how her jaw dropped to the floor when I walked in the door at the museum where we first met up. She said I looked great and that I was half the size that I was last time she saw me (not quite, but it was nice to hear anyway). It was rainy in the morning so we took our kids thru the state museum, then we played at a few parks till the kids were good and hungry. Then we got McDonalds and took it to the zoo for a picnic lunch. I had a kids chicken nugget happy meal with milk and apples, so was not too high on calories. I think my friend felt self concsious though with her super sized adult meal. She's 5 feet tall and has always been tiny, but the last couple of years she's put on a bit of weight around her tummy and hips. Not NEARLY as much as I did though!
We spent several hours at the zoo walking around. By the time the kids were tired and whiney we finally gave in and bought train tickets and snacks for everyone. So while we took the riding tour of the same stuff we had walked past the kids all ate cotton candy, frozen cokes, popcorn and ice cream. I don't usually allow my kids that much sugar, but since this was probably the only 'vacation' our family will have this year I let them splurge. I was so proud of myself that I did not even have a taste of ANYTHING!!! Just water - though not nearly enough through the day.
For supper we stuck with tradition and went to Denny's. I ordered grilled talapia with a side of green beans and a side of sliced tomatoes. My friend said that I made her feel like she should eat healthy too, so she ordered a salad, but with breaded chicken instead of grilled.
All in all it was an awesome day and I was well within my cals for the day - so on the way home I caved and had some soft Toll House chocolate chip cookies that the kids begged for on our way out of the city to head home.
Yesterday I did good food wise. I'm trying to add in a couple hundred more cals to see if that gets me losing again. I've been stuck around 154 for quite a while now it seems like. I lifted weights last night, then headed to bed. An hour later a huge storm system hit our area with tornado warnings and grapefruit sized hail in some areas. My husband is on the local volunteer fire department and they get stuck watching for bad weather (tornadoes and fires from lightening) so I was home alone with the kids. I was up till almost 2 am watching the weather channel to see what was coming yet. We actually got very lucky and didn't have much damage except to my garden and some of our trees. My mother and sister who live in a town 16 miles away from us have broken windows, wrecked siding on their houses, smashed car windows (not to mention the huge dents). There were even some people that had holes all the way thru their roof from the huge hail that came down. My alarm went off at 3:30 this morning.
I was dragging all day long today. When I came home for lunch I took a nap instead of eating, then made a PB&J sandwhich to take with me and grabbed a V8 and some fruit to eat back at the office.
I was dragging all afternoon too. When I got home I would have loved to just crash, but I thought if I sat down I wouldn't be moving till morning. So I bit the bullet and went for my 2 mile run. The wind was crazy tonight. The first half of each mile was against the wind and I thought I'd never get to the end of those stretches. THen the 2nd half of each mile flew by because the wind was blowing me along. My calves and ankles are pretty sore now, but my knees don't feel all that bad since I haven't run in several days now. I'm hoping they just needed time to heal up.
So... Foods for today (supper is planned - haven't eaten yet)

Upping the calories a bit makes me a bit nervous, but we'll see if it helps or not. If I start to gain weight back, I can always go back down to where I was, right? Right!
