Hahah I know right? Sometimes the darn thing can seam like your biggest enemy and other times it can seam like an actual friend. lol

Yeah, I'm so happy about the up and coming 30 lb landmark! I didn't think I'd be as excited about 30 lbs lost as I was about 20 lbs. I thought I'd wait and get really jazzed about 50 pounds, but I guess every 10 pounds is a milestone in my book! lol :)

Fantastic news - I know how demoralising it can be when you are doing everything right but the scales just don't shift. Well done for perseverign!

Nearly a pound and a half gone OVER NIGHT!

Oh wow, Lyle McDonald was not joking when he talked about the "whooshes"! My body went from a 10 day plateau to losing half a pound yesterday and waking up this morning to a pound and a half gone over night! YES! :willy_nilly: That's two pounds gone in two days!

That is amazing to me! The body is quite a mysterious thing and it's a heck of a lot more complex than a big chunk of the diet industry will admit. I'm so glad to have the resources that we do to research this stuff. If I had been living 30 years ago (ie without internet) I think it would have been so easy to give up after seeing the scale sit still for so long despite all my hard work. We truly are blessed to be living in the day and age we are in! Knowing what to expect gives you foreknowledge and an edge to this whole process.

And being able to share and experience other people's success stories and see their before and after photos really is quite an inspiration and excellent motivation! I spent 3 hours last night on youtube watching people's weight loss success story videos and it really gave me hope that I'll get there too!

So I'm 29 pounds down! 1 more pound to go and I hit my 30 pound milestone! :jump: Yes!!

Thank you, Jay! Yeah, to see the weight finally come off after 10 days of the scale toying with you - *whew!* Big relief. I can't imagine what some of the others go through who have had like month long plateaus! That would be SO CRAZY HARD! I'm pray I never have to go through with a plateau that lasts that long.

i had a year long plateau...and i went crazy lol...and then i gave up. Looking back i would have dealt with it different...but anyway congrats on the loss! :D

I'm glad that you've got the knowledge and determination not to let that happen again! I look forward to seeing your progress on the journey! You can do it, sweetie!

Thanks, Flumes and Val! :D Your encouragement means a lot to me! :)

A party? lol I wish! But I might just have to treat myself to a new pair of sandals or something to celebrate once I hit 30 pounds removed! heheh

Three Pounds in Three Days!

I woke up this morning to another 1.2 pounds gone since yesterday! Oh my, talk about a whoosh! That's 3 pounds in 3 days despite any changes in my diet or exercise routine. I guess the plateau was "the calm before the storm" lol. On that note: I've reached 30 pounds down!

YES!! I've removed 30 pounds from my body in about 2 1/2 months! To put it in perspective that's like three 10 pound bags of potatoes, sixty cups of water (or thirty 16 oz bottles of water), or an average 4 year old. lol

I know I still have a LONG way to go, and I can't expect to keep up those kinds of numbers (nor do I wish too as that's probably too fast to be really very healthy). I want to try and stay around 2 pounds a week as all the medical advice I've seen says 1-2 pounds a week is healthiest.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share the good news! I'm off to go do my happy dance!

That's definitely worth a dance. 3 whole lbs and 30 lbs total. That is fantastic going in such a short time.
Do what I did and carry 30lbs around with you for a while and climb some stairs. It's shocking when you realize how much it weighs. No wonder I could hardly get up off the sofa.

LOL! You know what? I think I'll try that, just so I can get a feel of exactly how much I was carrying around! Great idea! I think after carrying around 30 pounds for a while it's definitely going to keep me motivated. Thanks for that great idea! *hugs*

I think you spend as much time reading these forums as I do :) No wonder we have a weight problem sitting in front of the computer every spare minute :)
Shouldn't you be in bed. Isn't it the middle of the night where you are? ;)

Nah, it's only 1 am. heheh. I usually go to bed around 3 am. I'm a night person. :)

Yeah, I read the forum a lot! It keeps me motivated and keeps my eye on the prize! My fabulous new smaller clothes! ...Eventually! lol

And yeah, I'm on the computer a lot, but I work out a lot more than I used to, so it's all good. lol I know I'll slowly start to be on it less and less. But the computer is where I work, so I often check the forum while working. lol

I thought that it would be more like 3 oclock. I love to read the forums but I do tend to get obsessed with things. I spend such a lot of time at home with my dad so it is good company for me. :)

I'm on the west coast, it's 3 oclock back where I used to live (where all my family still lives). I left the "heart of America" to live here in California. I love it here! I don't think I'd ever go back to that hick town again. lol

Yeah, I know what you mean about the forum being company. I work from home so most of the day it's just me and it until The Sweetie gets home from work.

I so need to make some friends here, but we don't really get out much. lol

Well I'm off to go watch a movie and then fall off to sleep. Night night, Val!
