Take 2

Don't let the scale get to you.... SERIOUSLY. I know how frustrated you are because I went through the exact same thing (I'm sure I've told you this before). Honestly just keep doing what your doing and the weight will eventually fall off. I didn't start losing weight steadily till June and I started working out in March. Thats why taking measurements really helps a lot. TRUST ME the weight WILL come off... you are doing so well.

Also, watch those evil sunflower seeds. Though good for you, VERY VERY high in calories. If you really had a handful (We'll go with a nice pocket size in your palm) thats about 300-400 calories. :willy_nilly:

Thank you so much. It really helps to hear it. My friend is grilling me on what I"m eating and I know she's thinking I'm eating more than I'm saying. I"m truly honestly not. I'm really baffled....but I'd be thinking the same thing if I was her. I was trying to sound all casual with the sunflower seeds but the truth is I measured them to make sure I had less than a serving, and shared them with my kids LOL. Once you stared losing, was it like more than 2 lbs a week? what was the pattern? I"m so grateful you're sharing your story because hearing it is giving me hope

Thank you for stopping by SB. Looking at the nutrition labels is definitely new to me, so ever reminder helps. I was logging in all my cals for 4 weeks, but stopped because it was making me oddly obsessive about it and I started not wanting to eat even when I was hungry, and low in cals etc. So I'm going back to eating when I''m hungry but making better choices. Plugging everything in helped me learn a lot and I"m glad I did it. I might go back to it someday, but it was strange to have odd thoughts about food that I"ve never had before

My friendly/wonderful neighbor already came today and we did another XP90 workout. It was a full hour. I love those work outs, even though I try to modify them to be low impact if possible. Tomorrow, we're jogging in the AM and going bike riding at night. I was up until 2am trying to get my son to sleep in his own bed--Super Nanny style lol. so I was so tired, but i"m so freaking glad I worked out today

Well I only lost for two weeks consistently in June. I bought my new scale after the first week and my old one was off by a lot so it really threw me off with how much I lost. But the following two weeks, I lost between 1.5-2.5 lbs each week. Then last week I went on vacation and didn't watch what I ate at alll and I gained a few instead of losing. But it will be fairly consistent when it does start to come off if you keep eating healthy and you keep exercising. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask :D

Thanks adeon.

I decided to take my measurements today. DH helped me.... and I am very pleased. I only did my neck and waist before and I lost inches. My neck was 12.5 and waist 34.5 to start with

Today's measurements July 4th

neck--12 1/8

Right arm-- 12 1/4

Left arm--12

Ribs[over bra band]--33 3/4

Boobs [fullest part while wearing a bra]--39.5

waist--32.5

Hip--41.5

Right thigh--24.5

Left thigh--24

In a couple weeks, I hope my measurements shrink dramatically, especially my boobs, waist, and arms

It sure sounds like you are really doing a good job. Sometimes I feel like I am in a battle of wills with my body. I am determined NOT to be the one to give in! Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off, it has too. All the people who know what they are talking about keep telling us that it comes down to calories in and energy used. Common sense tells us that if we continue to fall short of our maintenance number, we eventually have to lose pounds. So be stubborn, and hang in there!

We didn't go to any festivities last night, so we ate normally :)

I walked/jogged 2 miles this morning with my friend. This time we jogged 7 street lights instead of 2!!! I"m still recovering, I have no energy!! Today's gonna be another great eating day! Going grocery shopping today :)

Wow good job with increasing your jogging! That's a big increase from 2 blocks to 7, you should be proud. Sounds like you are still eating well too, you are definitely going to reach your goal if you keep this up. Have a great week!

Good for you for increasing your jog! Your body will thank you. :D And soon that will be easy peasy and you'll be bumping it up again.

Great job on all those workouts. Taking your measurements was a great idea. It's such a good way to track your progress, rather than the scale imo... Measurements are a lot more forgiving and kinder :)

Good luck on the groceries. I gotta do that sometime this week too.

Thanks. I can't wait until I can jog the whole 2 miles. I am eating well, but yesterday had 1 little cinnamon roll. It was 120 calories and low fat, so not too bad. Luckily I didn't eat 3 like I used to. It wasn't a big slip up like the peanut butter twix a couple weeks ago lol

It seems like we're always buying groceries.

My friend came over today and we did Turbo Jam Kick Punch Jam. Half the time we were stumbling around trying to figure out what we were doing, but I was sweating anyway. we're doing our normal walk 2 mile tonight. I'll most likely speed walk most of the way because my knee is killing me....

I start a summer class tomorrow, it's twice a week for like 4.5 hrs each class. Yuck. But I'll be taking the stairs instead of the elevator and I'm still going to work out 6 days a week, sometimes more than once in a day woohoo. I'm trying not to complain, but I seriously hate working out. It's a good thing my friend comes over here to make me do it lol. My class is a 5 week class, so I can be more than 10lbs less when it's over. My fingers are crossed that the weight starts dropping off. I"m still stuck at 166. UGH

I'd just like to add that my mom came over today. I haven't seen her in the last 6 days or so. She said I look thinner and she doesn't say stuff like that unless she means it

Woohoo! Cool about the compliment!

As long as you stay consistent with the exercise and your eating, you will lose again... just be patient :) Have a great day! (And don't worry, the hate of working out DOES go away... sort of!)

Thanks Anke. Hopefully more people will notice

I started class today--it's a night class, so spent a lot of time running around

bfast--Kashi Go Lean Crunch--1 C, milk, Green tea
lunch--small piece of lasagna, salad
snack--hard boiled egg
dinner--pb and j sandwich, 6 oz yogurt, apple

also had some Gatorade for class. I think my body's finally understanding it needs to eat every 3 hrs as long as it's not after seven lol. It's almost nine, and I still feel full. yay.

I just did some crunches and arm reps today. My knee is killing me. I'm hobbling around like an old lady and need to use laundry baskets as walkers to get around.....Not sure how to get past it. I know it's the 2 mile jogs/walks that are doing it, but I feel like they're pretty necessary. Tomorrow, my friend and I are taking the kids for a bike ride in the am and I"ll do some more arm and ab work at night.....Hopefully my knee will be back to normal for a little jog on THurs./ It was embarrassing to limp around school lol. I'll probably dig out my old knee brace, but I was never really sure if it helped or not

OH, and my hubby joined this board and started his first journal post. Yay!!

My knee feels better today--I can walk without limping too bad lol.

I got on the scale this am....165 :sifone: Just got back from an hr long bike ride with my friend. I don't know how long it was, but holy smokes, I"m so tired. My heart was pounding so hard. It's definitely harder than dh and I push when we go out.

I thought working out is supposed to give you more energy? I felt that at first, but since I started working out every day and sometimes twice, I just feel so tired all the time. Hopefully that will go away.

Your body could be telling you you're overdoing it. That could very well be the case if you're working out as much as you say. When we work out our bodies need to recover. If you don't allow it to do that then it can't pick up where you left off.

How long to rest between workouts depends on how intense the workout is, but definitely let your body recover. I think you'll find you get that 'rush' back if you do.

well of course I'm working out as much as I say. :) I just don't think that doing 2 hrs of working out a day is excessive? They're spaced out, one it the morning/afternoon, and one at night. Typically it's only twice about 3-4 times a week and have a stretch/light day on Sun. That doesn't seem like too much to me. At first, my muscles were so sore, like every single muscle in my body was dying. I get some sore muscles occasionally, but not so bad it takes me 5 minutes to sit down. Hopefully my energy will come back up. If it doesn't after this week, I may cut down to every other day, or maybe drop it down to no more than once a day. I don't know, I'll modify it if my energy doesn't come back up. I will feel so lazy telling my friend that I need to do less though :ack2: I have to get up to go visit my sister, and I just feel so dead tired, all my limbs feel so heavy. I'm going to make some coffee to drink on the way

HAHAHA I didn't mean it like that. Sorry. :D Give it the week to see how you feel, but it sounds to me like you're overdoing it. I think your body will thank you and you will likely bounce back better than you are now so it'll be worth it. Good luck!

Don't worry, I wasn't upset or anything hahaha. Sounds like a plan :coolgleamA:

eta--

Bfast--half a bagel w/ red. fat cream cheese, hard boiled egg
lunch--half turkey sandwich--had sprouts and yellow peppers, 1/4 C Chili--home made with lots of veggies
dinner--3 oz grilled/smoked Tilapia, dollop of mashed potatoes, 1 C lettuce, 5 baby carrots

snack--6 oz yogurt
-coffee w/ creamer and sugar
--also had 6 oz cranberry juice
--1 graham cracker

oh mashed potoatoes/ How I love them. Everyone always jokes how they better hide them when I'm coming over, so I did great by limiting them.

Your workouts sound like they have been great, but I agree that you need to give your body a chance to recover. If you keep pushing yourself so hard when your body is screaming at you, you are going to end up with an injury that will really slow down your progress. Just listen to your body is my advice. Good job on limiting the mashed potatoes, they are my favorite too!
