SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

I got a Wiiiiiii Fit!!!

And, my MIL bought me a food scale that calculates the cals/protein/fat, etc. of food! I owe her back for that one, but I'm excited. I weighed a banana - which I usually input at 100 cals, but it actually came out to 155. The peel was still on, but I was surprised to see the difference of what I would've thought it to be.

Soooo you know my birthday's coming up right? LOL :coolgleamA:

so, what's the deal on the Wii fit, can you really get a good work out with it? My wife wants one pretty bad.

How do you like it so far?

It does give you a pretty good work out. I would say that it's fun and I like that it keeps track of your min. and your fitness level. It really has you work on your balance - which apparently I suck at - or really need to work at. :)

I think your wife would like it. My husband was able to order it from frys.com But I think like any other website it's on a day-by-day basis.

Ugh! I've got to go to work tomorrow from 8-12:30. I so don't want to do that, I have many things I could be getting done here!! So not fair!

I went to work this morning and was there until 1pm. It was ok.

But, I'm having a bit of difficulty with the person who was supposed to be my co-teacher. She is still thinking of the room as hers, and as it is now, it is not. One thing I overheard her saying was that "our" room was not up to par as the other ones were. Well, she was actually "in charge" before I left this summer for training, and she had it all arranged the way she wanted it to be. But, when I had come back, everything had changed - not the room, just the logistics of it - who was in there and who wasn't.

So, now I feel like I'm the one that has to update the room and make it more like the other rooms. Which means I have to spend time shopping to get "things" to make the room more homey. One thing about it is that I really don't have the time right now. I am very disappointed in her attitude too because I don't know that she knows that I overheard the conversation.

Then, today, I noticed some things that I had taken off of the shelf - because of what my training was said that we didn't need them - she has put back on. When I noticed them, another teacher was in the room and I didn't feel like calling her out on it.

Also, when I was talking to another lady who assists me on Fridays, well she butted in and told her what her responsibilities were in the room. I was like hello - I had already done that, thank you very much.

I'm not sure how far I should go with this because I don't like to much confrontation when it comes to the little things - and it was her room to begin with.

I was told that I was to treat it like my own and to do whatever I felt necessary in there. So that does mean that I need to step-up and tell her why I removed or added things to the shelf.

I was so upset this afternoon that I just came home and slept for 3 hrs! I guess my body needed that, but still I shouldn't let these things get to me.

I did work out on the wii fit today. I have to say that it is a lot of fun. The one thing I'm not too keen on is that it gives the kids a BMI. And basically is telling them they need to lose weight. My kids aren't even close to being overweight and they have been a little worried about their BMI. It does included a little insert that states that the BMI's are not accurate for anyone under 20 - but you know a kid is not going to listen to a piece of paper when the video game is telling them something different. I wish there was a way to opt out of that for children. They could then focus on the fun of it and still get active!

My oldest son hopped on it for the 1st time today and blew away most of our scores! :D

50 push-ups at one time? You definitely have me beat!

Noooo...not at a time. I am not a machine. LOL! I crumble about every 10. Maybe in a while I'll be at 50 at a time. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel on that one yet. LOL.

Its nice that the wii fit is becoming a family fun/fitness thing for you guys! I can see what you are saying about the BMI thing. Heck I don't thing I'd want to see the BMI for myself everytime I play. LOL. As long as you keep letting them know that the BMI thing doesn't work for them, that's all you can do.

My nine year old nephew is on a new medication that's causing him to gain weight. When my mom gave him some options for what to eat for lunch, he asked her how much fat was in an egg. Needless to say, my mom's chin hit the floor. Nine? I'm not sure where he picked that up, but I can't imagine my sister being the cause. Nine years old?!! My mom spend the next several minutes trying to tell him that he doesn't have to worry about his weight. Scary.

Hope the co-teaching this gets sorted out without giving you an ulcer.

I got on today and my BMI was up as well as my weight, but not sure what it expected since it was the evening and I had just eaten. LOL But then when I worked out, I re-did the body test, and was down a pound!! The cool thing is is that it measures to the tenths, something my scale doesn't do. So I can deal with that.

Hope the co-teaching this gets sorted out without giving you an ulcer. It's actually a myth that worrying gives you ulcers, but I do have a plan and am going to talk to the other teacher as well as my supervisor so we can get this all straightened out before it goes too far. I'm sure her mind will be else where once the lunch program starts. :)

I got on the Wii fit today and unlocked some boxing, it was quite fun and I worked up a huge sweat. I also managed to "play" for over an hour. I then came and finished my push-ups for the week. I ended up with 45 total (with rests in between sets) before I didn't want to do anymore, I guess I could've pushed out some more, but I was a little tired after the wii. ;)

Wii fit update!

I guess this is day 6 of me being on the wii fit.

If you skip a day, it basically asks you where have you been - didn't feel up to the challenge? LOL

Say you "gained" weight (which for me was because I had just eaten and drank a lot of water right before getting on - the day before yesterday) it will ask you why and give you all these options - if you select, "I don't know." It then razzes you and says, "really? You don't know why you gained weight? Hmm, I think you need to think about that!" :D

Also, it points out the obvious, like if you put down your foot when you are supposed to be balancing on one foot, it will tell you that. Haha!

I really am enjoying it though - got in over an hour today. One thing I'm not too sure on is how it calculated one of the moves when I didn't even use the balance board - just had the remote in my hand. I forget what the exercise was called but it is where you are on all 4's then, you raise your right hand/arm and your left leg at the same time and hold the pose. It would tell me I had my arm up too high!

I am loving it and going to keep at it to see if it makes a difference. :)

Haha. I could see myself swearing at that thing all the time. It sound so good. I'll have to let my sister know about it. She has a wii and this just might be something she'd love. Oh wait, her birthday is around the corner...

Good luck getting her one. I guess you can do a wii fit "watch" online, not sure where it is, but you download it (I think) and you can see when they are in stock.

Well I'm finally down past the 163 - I'm now at 162. However, I didn't get on the fit last night because I needed a day off. I also get discouraged by what it says - like if I didn't do the "balance" test exactly so - it will say something like "walking is not your thing is it?" I guess that has to do with when I was younger my step-father would say things like that because I was a little clumsy. It was also then that he called me Tennessee Tubs. :(

So, I guess I don't like some of the comments - but that's probably just me.

I will probably take the day off again today because I'm planning on walking with dh tonight and my calves are still sore from Thurs. workout on the fit.

Well I guarantee my weight is going to be up. I caved tonight and bought Wendy's! My cals aren't over, but that's only because I didn't each much else the other half of the day. And, whenever I eat crap food, it always sticks around longer than the other stuff.

The good news is is that yesterday I took about a 5 mile walk with dh and I also got on the Wii! I just don't want to step on the thing for it to tell me I'm getting fat. ;)

You are so not getting fat!!!
And you know it!
I think that I would end up throwing something at the tv if it kept telling me that kinda crap. LOL
But then I would also be like I gotta beat this thing so that it won't say that again.
Maybe that is what they were hoping for.
Keep up all your hard work!

Well I am overweight and it shows every time I step on the fit. I guess it's not that I don't know that because I do. It just gets frustrating that it seems no matter what I do, I am doomed to be this size. I tallied up all of my cals for today and they are at 1403. Which isn't bad at all. And although I didn't tally them yesterday, I don't think they were any higher. I have to eat healthy at school (in front of the children.) So, it really sets the tone for the whole day.

I'm just disappointed that my weight is up and except for Wendy's the other day I haven't done bad at all. I just get really discouraged some days.

I just feel like it's not fair one bit that I can't indulge in something once in awhile without it affecting my weight.

And then I step on the stupid fit and it tells me that I'm overweight. Well duh!!!

It does make you want to make the numbers go lower and to beat the thing, but it is still disappointing. Of course one thing it did say was that the last time I weighed in was at 10:46 am - and it's the evening - then it went on to say how your weight can fluctuate...blah...blah....

So, I guess it wasn't so negative, but still.

I haven't worked out on the Wii since Sun. But, even then, I took a walk that evening. Monday I worked out on the Elliptical. Last night and tonight I took another walk with dh - which is 4 miles each time. Plus the push-up challenge. So it's not like I'm doing nothing. Guess maybe I need to get back to the weight training. I loathe weight training - it's so boring!!

The last time I updated this thing I was really upset with myself and the scale.

However, after over a week, I've gotten my weight back down. I'm pretty sure it is all the walking that dh and I have done. I just dread the cold days that are creeping up. I guess I'm going to have to stick to it for as long as I can.

I stepped on the scale this morning and am down to 160.5! I even felt brave enough to get back on the fit and it too showed me down. I'm pretty happy.
Except that this week I only walked 2 times with dh and got on the Wii once. That's it for exercise. I will have to step it up this weekend I'm sure.

We are having a fall festival tomorrow at our school, and I'm sure there will be a few can't pass up goodies. Of course, I have to pay for them, so maybe I can. ;)

Nice work! Just keep it up--you can brainstorm a great cardio plan for indoors, I know you can!

There are a few badasses on here who have gymless, challenging workouts. I don't know what kind of time you have for exercise, but if you TRULY want results, you need to kick your own ass :D C'mon, it'll be fun! It's addicting..............:sifone: :D

Way to go!!! :hurray:
And even after our night out and that super duper brownie!!!
I knew you could do it.
You rock!!!!
