SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Got in a power Yoga workout today. My legs were trembling for like an hour afterwards. It was funny trying to shave them in the shower!

I'm going to join!

I wasn't going to since I didn't lose weight on this last challenge, but then figured at least the Halloween challenge motivated me to workout - among other things.

I'm glad I am not the only one who wasn't the greatest "loser" in this challenge! I think I have actually gained almost a pound instead of losing the 13 pounds I had hoped to take off. Maybe this next one will be the challenge we OWN! lol.. Good luck!

& I am loving the cowgal outfit! Very cool!

MG - Thanks! I got most of the stuff out my closet. :D Except the cowboy hat and pistol. Had to raid my son's closet.
We will do awesome on the next challenge. I figure if anything else it will keep me exercising.

exactly! I certainly wouldn't have been as motivated as I was without thinking about letting the team down if I didn't workout some.

Ha-ha, I totally know what you mean by rubber legs. The other day after i finished on the "beast elliptical" my legs felt like jello and I had to wait a couple of moments before walking.
I am so glad you are joining the Christmas challenge!!! I will see you there for sure, I am joining as well.
Oh, and you are doing great with your exercises, you are getting healthy. Throw away the scale and don't even worry about it!!

Have a great day
Hajni

Hajni - You're right about throwing away the scale - I think that's on my to-do list!

Yarmiah - yeah that's what I thought! :D

Stacy - Thank ya'!

MG - We will do this!

Just stopping in early because I have to sub, but haven't heard back from the school as to what time.

Just got done with my workout. I did 25 min. on the elliptical (over 3000 rpms.)

And, 35 min. on the treadmill - 1.89 miles - an "endurance" program.

I feel good. Got to go in and sub later after 11. I think a 1/2 day is better than a whole day - cause the pay is better (if you calculate it hourly!) :rotflmao:

Great job getting in that cardio!!! I hope you have a good sub day and all the kids listen and do as they are told. LOL LOL that doesn't happen very often does it?? Oh well, we can all dream right??? Enjoy your day Sweatpea! :)

Hi

I'm a newbie on this forum too-I love your name! It's so creative and fun :) And I like that newbie animation you had on your first post with the smilies, it was cute! (Heh, I'm a sucker for that stuff.)

Anyway, I totally understand your desire to eat at big party gatherings. I just had a family gathering this past weekend and went off the diet I'm on. It was harder to get back on the wagon (sometimes it seems that these wagons have no sides and an oily surface lol) but I did it. It took three days, mind you, but I did it :jump:

I just wanted to say, maybe you shouldn't worry so much about how much you eat. I eat whatever I want really, as long as its low fat and high in nutrition (and of course I was off the wagon there a few days when I delved into some Halloween candy, but thank god I only gained a pound from it). I don't go for that trendy health food stuff though-you can't make me touch yogurt with a ten foot pole lol I try to stick to high fiber cereals like shredded wheat, tuna wraps (tuna mixed with coleslaw dressing is FABULOUS, and tastes great with a bit of chopped red peppers and tomatoes thrown in, put on top of a few slices of swiss cheese), and things such as chicken and fish for dinner.

To add more variety to your diet, you might also want to try drinking 100% fruit juices. Not plain ones like apple or orange, but exotic ones like mango, guava, or pomegranate. These are all nice tasting sweet juices to have, but they're more filling because they got a lot more nutrition in them than, say, your regular apple juice.

If you have a Booster Juice in your area, they also have a great variety of juices, including Matcha Monsoons, which are a great replacement for coffee.
Matcha is a japanese tea powder which has 10 times the amount of antioxidants as green tea and I've read that it can help with concentration.
Plus, the Matcha Monsoon tastes just like vanilla ice cream  (I think they use vanilla soy milk to make it)

So, there are some ideas to spruce up your diet a bit :) Don't think you have to be dull on your diet, eating healthy can be fun :jump: Just sometimes takes a few suggestions to know what to have.

Subbing was good today - the kids were a quiet bunch for the most part - only a few of the normal "trying to get away with what our teacher wouldn't let us" tactics merged today. It was only a 1/2 day and such a nice one too!

But, I feel like I've worked all day long!

Hi PJ - Welcome! Thanks for the suggestions. Generally I have real fruit instead of fruit juice though. But I will look out for some real good 100% juices. It's not that I don't eat what I like - I do, it's just that at the moment nothing seems to work. But I will keep on going...and persevering. Thanks for stopping by!

So here it is Sunday morning. I'm all ready for church. And have nothing better to do but be online (oh and fix my hair!) :D

Anyway, I get up this morning and weigh myself - and I'm up another friggin' pound! Grrr!!!
I come out and announce to dh that I'm up another pound. And his comment, "Is there any surprise in that?" I was like totally dumbfounded, so I didn't say anything.

Then, he says, "well did you exercise yesterday?" Um no...but we don't have to exercise every freakin' day! Then, I didn't talk to him anymore - he went off to take a shower.

What is up with that? I mean geesh, don't we get one day a week off? Ok, I know I took more than one day this week - more like a total of 3. But I did exercise 4 days - and that should count for something right?

My calories weren't off by too much - I mean I at least should be holding steady if nothing else. But noooooooooooooooooo~!

I'm so upset I could just eat a whole box of brownies!!! JK! I'm not that upset, but I was upset enough to micro-manage my breakfast - down to measuring out the PB for my toast and the Smart Balance. I think I ate more since I measured than I usually do. :sigh:

What's a girl to do?

I guess the solution for me is to eat close to nothing and exercise my arse off every freakin' day of the week - and not just exercise - but the "kill-yourself" kind. Because in the past that's the only way I lost weight too.

I think I'd better get my meds upped, cause I'm going to have a freakin' breakdown over this....

that's not a great solution... and won't be maintainable long term...

Weight fluctuates -- it's a fact of life... and it's not worth the stress when it does... your husband needs a kick in the behind for being unsupportive but - eh -that might be good exercise for ya :)

Have you checked measurements recently? is there any change there?

Hey Mal, I know it's not a solution. I was just blowing some morning steam. :flame:

My clothes fit horribly. I feel so "fat" I know I shouldn't say that, but it's true.

I did get on the elliptical for 25 min. and then the treadmill for 28 min (with cool down.) Then, did an ab workout and some stretching for about 10 more min. (until the show I was watching was over.)

And food has been on track.

So far I've eaten:

Breakfast:
Coffee w/ creamer (measured 3 tsps. for 3 cups of coffee)
2 slices w/w lite bread w/ 1 tbsp. pb and 1 tsp smart balance

Lunch:
Salad: romaine lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, snap peas w/ 1 tbsp of ranch dressing.
3 oz. grilled chicken breast
1 banana

Dinner:
Yogurt, hard boiled egg, and pear

Snack (at church): Small box of hot tamales and miniature nestle crunch bar
Got home and ate a full size caramello bar :(

Snack (at home): 1 mini pkg of teddy grahams (60 cals.), 1 oz of pretzels (about 140 cals.)

Total cals: 1655 (according to sparks.)

I'm starving at the moment...ugh, but I don't know what to eat right now - I think I will go get a yogurt and then pack something for tonight since we are going to the fall festivus at church and I don't want hotdogs and chips. Blech!

I say this so often, that I should just make it my signature... Have you considered increasing your fiber intake -it definitely helps keep you full longer and keeps your digestive system moving more...

your calories for the day also look really low, it's no wonder you're starving... :)

Why are your clothes fitting horribly? too big - you m ight consider having them altered - to have hem fit a little better...

HI SweatPea, I understand you frustration and you being upset. I am sorry the scale is just so uncooperative!!
I know you have lost a considerable amount of weight in the past What did you exactly do the get there? Did you monitor your calorie intake? What kind of foods did you eat? And just how much did you exercise?

Oh, and today's number is just another fluctuation. As long as you did not eat around 6000 cal yesterday, there is no way you gained a pound, so don't worry about it. ( I was up exactly a pound today too)

I found that watching my food is more important than the exercise part. Of course exercise is important but if I slacked here and there it did not do as much "damage" as eating over my calorie allowance.
There are plenty of great foods you can eat on a lower calorie level and you don't have to be hungry. And eat 6 times a day, it helps with the hunger pangs. (I have them too. I eat breakfast around 6.30 am and by 9.00 am I am ready for my snack but I wait 10.00 am )
To eat the reduced calorie was hard the first two weeks...if you can make it without cheating... it will be a lot easier. A couple of biteful of food can be easily 100-200 calories extra.

Your exercise sounded awesome and you worked hard. sounds like DH was on the insensitive side this morning. Does he have any weight to lose? My DH does not and does not understand how HARD it is...to say no to foods and go and work my butt off in the gym. And he never compliments either.
To me this weight loss journey was an every day thing since I started back in May (when I seriously started). I concentrated on it every day otherwise it is so easy to eat just a little bit more one day and skip an exercise the other... and it all adds up by the end of the week.

Maybe you can post your exact foods you are eating that way people can give you ideas.

Hope your week gets better from here.
Hajni

Just remember to breath.

Hopefully the scale will start cooperating. Til then just gotta keep on doing the right thing.

Wish I had better advice, but I understand how you feel. It gets so frustrating. I have to have faith that it all will work in the long run.
