Hi
I'm a newbie on this forum too-I love your name! It's so creative and fun

And I like that newbie animation you had on your first post with the smilies, it was cute! (Heh, I'm a sucker for that stuff.)
Anyway, I totally understand your desire to eat at big party gatherings. I just had a family gathering this past weekend and went off the diet I'm on. It was harder to get back on the wagon (sometimes it seems that these wagons have no sides and an oily surface lol) but I did it. It took three days, mind you, but I did it
I just wanted to say, maybe you shouldn't worry so much about how much you eat. I eat whatever I want really, as long as its low fat and high in nutrition (and of course I was off the wagon there a few days when I delved into some Halloween candy, but thank god I only gained a pound from it). I don't go for that trendy health food stuff though-you can't make me touch yogurt with a ten foot pole lol I try to stick to high fiber cereals like shredded wheat, tuna wraps (tuna mixed with coleslaw dressing is FABULOUS, and tastes great with a bit of chopped red peppers and tomatoes thrown in, put on top of a few slices of swiss cheese), and things such as chicken and fish for dinner.
To add more variety to your diet, you might also want to try drinking 100% fruit juices. Not plain ones like apple or orange, but exotic ones like mango, guava, or pomegranate. These are all nice tasting sweet juices to have, but they're more filling because they got a lot more nutrition in them than, say, your regular apple juice.
If you have a Booster Juice in your area, they also have a great variety of juices, including Matcha Monsoons, which are a great replacement for coffee.
Matcha is a japanese tea powder which has 10 times the amount of antioxidants as green tea and I've read that it can help with concentration.
Plus, the Matcha Monsoon tastes just like vanilla ice cream

(I think they use vanilla soy milk to make it)
So, there are some ideas to spruce up your diet a bit

Don't think you have to be dull on your diet, eating healthy can be fun

Just sometimes takes a few suggestions to know what to have.
