Sushi's Weightloss Diary

thanks tropicalgirl... i really hope I can stay motivated!

It's getting a little colder than what I imagined California would be. I can't wait to buy new clothes to fit my lower fat body! <---- don't let my girlfriend know that I said I want to go shopping. hahaha. I have noticed that some of my pants are getting pretty loose and I'm sure by the time I reach my goal, I won't be able to wear them at all!

OK... some bad news. Last night, I had a sundae. I really fought against it, but I caved. I caved hard! It had caramel, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, peanut butter cups, and tasted a little bit like hopes and dreams! I had a nightmare last night... it's probably all related.

Tomorrow is the first weigh in of my first challenge. I can't wait! I really think it's an awesome motivator! I'll post progress pics at the end of that!

have a good day everyone!

In my opinion sweets every once in a while is fine so don't worry too much about it because you have been eating well and exercising. Did you eat the entire sundae? If so try eating like 30% of it next time so you do not feel so bad about it the next day. I had an English trifle last weekend but only ate 30% of it and have still lost a good amout of weight this week. Good luck with the weigh in tommorow.:)

Good Morning!!! I agree you have to splurge every now and again, NOT everyday! but maybe once a week allow yourself something naughty. LOL That way you don't regret starting the new lifestyle, because you won't feel like your giving up everything. Congrats on losing some more weight, I'm most certain the daily bike rides are working that metabolism for you. Man, I wish I could ride every day!! I miss California (sometimes) cost of living is sky high, so I don't miss that at all!! Well, have another good day today, hope you get to buy some new clothes real soon.

See YA!
Kim

Thanks guys, I felt like I had cheated myself by having ice cream so early in the diet, but I guess it'll be OK once in a while. Everything else I eat is pretty healthy...

The cost of living does hurt, but I think I'm finally getting financially stable. It doesn't help that mass layoffs are happening at work  I can't imagine the stress I'd have if I wasn't exercising and I didn't find these forums. How does everyone get the motivation to keep going after bad news? I feel I may need it soon... motivation... and a job! hahaha!

On a more positive note:
1. Tomorrow is day 1 of the challenge! Yay!
2. I watched my coworker eat about 4000 calories between 9 and 6 today... (this might sound bad) it made me happy that I decided to make a change. Hopefully he will too someday.
3. I'm not snoring as loud anymore... :rotflmao:

Today is my weigh in day! I've lost 4 lbs this week!!! 11 in total!

2 pounds a week... I can do it!

Wow, good progress! I'm sorry that you have a lot of stress right now over things you can't control but at least you can control being healthy and improved health and a nicer body is good motivation right?

Thanks. I guess when you put it in terms of things I can and can't control... I shouldn't be too stressed or worried about it at all.

Hi CurvieGirlie! Yeah... I'm in San Jose near Valley Fair Mall. I've been to Santa Cruz once and on accident. I had just moved into my new apartment and I couldn't remember where it was... so I kept driving. :jump: I hear there is a lot to do in Santa Cruz though; some weekend I should check it out.

Have a good weekend everyone!

There sure is! I'm about to go to Ben Lomond and see the Celtic games (never have.) I work in the wine industry and I was working the Capitola Art and Wine Festival late Aug. If you like butterflies, Natural Bridges Beach's wildlife preserve is full of Ecalyptus trees on which thousands of Monarch butterflies rest for the month of October--it's pretty spectacular to see! Anyway, have a good weekend:D

Thanks, I've never gone to see butterflies before, but I might check it out. It'd be nice to see more of the area... My friends are talking about camping out in Santa Cruz too before it gets too cold. Maybe I'll find some bike trails! Hope you had a good weekend at the Celtic Games!

I didn't get a whole lot of time for exercise this weekend. A few of my friends share a house and between the 4 of them, they have 3 broken cars... I decided to lend a hand in that. We're now waiting on parts for 2 of the cars, and the 3rd will need a little more attention. I believe that I'm a very skilled mechanic, but I really don't like working on cars!:) Good news though, they had beers... good... cold... wonderful beers, but I decided against it! Instead I had a good... cold... wonderful water! I have no regrets.

A little background.
My dad was heavy and diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Since then, he has become extremely healthy and strong. My mom was already fit, but decided to help my dad get healthy, she'd start exercising more with him. My older sister was very overweight and she's now down 90 lbs. from her heaviest weight. Now there is me... I feel really honored to be the one to finish my family's transformation!!! :rotflmao:

Ok... gotta go wrench some cars and design a level.

WOW, it's nice to see your whole family is working at staying healthy and fit, that certainly makes time together easier, that way nobody is trying to make really fattening foods and expecting everyone to indulge in it. I think thats awesome!! So your a mechanic huh?? everyone needs a friend that knows about cars, TRUST me, I'm very grateful for my family members who know how to work on them, they have saved me many, many times in the past when I was a single mom. Good luck this week on making your goal. Great job on saying no to the beer too, even though light beer would have been alright! Just one of course.
Later

Yeah... I'm happy that my family is all working toward the same goal. I really hope to surprise them the next time I visit Japan with my new and improved body!
I was a mechanic throughout college while studying to be a software developer... I think the curse mechanics have is that our cars never break down bad enough for us to work on our own stuff! I don't mind helping my friends at all though...

Today's bike ride home was pretty rough... check out my thread in the On Topic section for more details. My legs just feel so tired!!! My weight hasn't changed either, but I don't care(for now)!!! I'm getting healthy!

Here's to health! Cheers! I would put a "beerchug" icon but I quit drinking for a few weeks (for my health and also athletic performance and weight loss)...

Cheers! I too have put my drinking on hold until I drop more weight... I prefer dropping the weight though so I'm not too broken up :)

...Rain today. The ride to work will be clear, but coming home is going to be ugly... I'm going to drive.

Oh... almost forgot. Lucid dream last night! First one I tried to have. I had 2 false awakenings and thought about Green Eggs and Ham and the difference between the words: Cyanide and (fake word) Acenyde. I had some control, but not enough... really strange.

DREAMS, I love them!! I rarely have bad dreams, and I guess I'm one of those freaky people who can manipulate my dreams, work them to my advantage so to speak. AHHHH Green eggs and ham, not sure how to interpret that one. LOL are you eating bad food or what?? LOL LOL I think your doing an awesome job on your bike riding and you are RIGHT, you may not be losing weight, but you certainly are improving you heart muscles. That's HUGE!! GREAT JOB AGAIN!

This is a little embarrassing, but because I'm heavy and I ride my bike pretty hard... I think parts are wearing out already! I'm getting tons of noise from the rear hub... AHH! Another reason to keep trying! So my bike will give me lots of love! hahahaha...
Oh... I rode in the rain today! Pretty gross, yet really great!

Ok... so what I've been noticing so far.
- My calf muscles are getting nicely defined in such short time!
- The veins in my arms are more visible(larger?)
- I feel balanced... as if my posture had gotten better.

...Aside from the diet/exercise stuff. I'm still working on the lucid dreaming! I'd like to be able to control my dreams as well! Sometimes it happens, but not often.

Hey, you know how many toilet seat hinges I've broken? And how many plastic patio chairs I've cracked? And the heaviest I've ever been is 170 lbs! THINGS ARE MADE CHEAP, MAN!

That's excellent you're noticing your body changing for the better. Sweet, keep at it! :D

Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully my bike lasts until I can afford to replace parts or buy a new one.

It won't be raining today... so I'm gonna bike again! Tomorrow is the second weigh-in for October challenge. I don't believe I did that great this week, but we'll see!!! I'm finding it difficult to get in enough calories throughout the day without eating junk. That starvation mode sounds baaad.
