Success Diary

Thank you so much! We should help eachother not eat out this weekend. If it wasn't for reading my diary and having more support I wouldn't have gone for that run. I am so glad it did. I couldn't do it without so much support.

So last night I made pizza with 100% whole grain crust and everything low fat, lots of veggies and ground turkey. It was really good, so good in fact that I ate 5 slices! I am so mad at myself! I do so good and then when I am so close to my goal weight I have a binge and kill it! So this morning I am going to the gym and working my butt off.
My right knee has been giving me problems so I don't know if I will run today but I am doing my step class and weight lifting for sure. Then off to work.

That pizza sounds so good - I wouldn't worry about 5 pieces, I bet it wasn't even that many calories when you added it all up. With all that working out your doing you probably burned that easily with one workout! Keep it up your doing great!

Please be careful with that knee. Ice it about 1/2hr before your run (make sure it's warm again before you actually start running though), and ice again immediately after for 10min at a time. Invest in a good brace and look into physio/massage sooner than later. Knee's are tricky and tough to come back from. You want to stop damage before it's too late!!!

Don't beat yourself up over the pizza. One battle at a time. Work on putting the healthy food into your body first, then focus on portion control. And like Lisa said, it may not have even been as bad as you think. Positive thinking will take you far... very far!!!!

Glad to say my knee is better! I worked out today and it didn't hurt at all.
I did 40 minutes of cardio today and it was a pretty good workout.
Tomorrow I have my weight lifting class and I am excited! I am so additcted to lifting weights.
So today was kinda of a hard day, just hoping tomorrow is better.

So I have to get it out. I am having the worst week of my life! I usually go to Indiana for Thanksgiving to see my husbands family but this year, because of the drama out there, I decided to stay home. Staying home means dealing with my sister. She has done some pretty mean things to me and I thought I forgave her but now I am mad all over again and I really don't want to go the Thanksgiving dinner at her house. I know it is really my problem and I am dealing with it but I am a little stressed.
Anyway, I am going to the gym tonight to lift weights and do some cardio. I should make me feel better.
 
The big day is here, Thanksgiving dinner! I am pretty scared to eat all that food, so maybe I will be good. lol
Great job to those out there that can get through a holiday dinner and not pack on the pounds. You have to share how you make it.

I have been increasing my calories so I can build muscle, I hope it works!
I didn't workout today so tomorrow I am going on a 3 mile run before I eat Thanksgiving dinner. After the holiday it will be time to hit the gym hard and shed those last little pounds !

Hey Kristie, I hope your having a fabulous Thanksgiving (even with your mean sister). I think the key to the big dinners is to take a "taste" of everything. Use a small plate and take the potatoes LAST!! I watch people take potatoes first, filling up almost half the plate, put the meat on top of them, a huge scoop of stuffing, pour gravy over the whole thing. Then reach for the veggies (which are usually covered in cheese sauce) and other salads, a quick dolop of cranberries and you have a plate of food about 3 times your norm, and full not even a quarter of the way in. The trick is to take a 1/4 of what you want to. By the time your down eating... your full!!

Thank you for the great advice. I did pretty good with dinner, only eating a little bit of everything but then I had a piece of pie and it was so good I had another. Needless to say my tummy hurts. Nothing that a little self control and time in the gym wont fix, right?
Tomorrow I am going on a long hike in the Superstition Mountains. I will be a beautiful hike and a great workout. I should take 4 hours to reach the top and a little more than 2 hours to come back down. My husband is going with me so it should be fun and challenging at the same time.
 
Well my hike went well. I was so excited because I wasn't the one who got all out of breath and had to turn around and quit. This time it was my husband! It made me feel so great when my husband made the comment that he was breathing so hard and I wasn't out of breath at all (not that he was having a hard time lol). It's just normally I wouldn't have been able to do such a challenging hike. We made it for 6 miles before we turned around, it was awesome!
Tomorrow I am going to the gym to do a step class and then workout with weights. They have been canceling several classes at the gym, so if they do I am going to still get my workout in on the treadmill. I have to stop relying on the classes to get my workouts in.

I can't tell you how great it feels to be stronger!
Well they canceled my class today and I was a little bummed out. I lifted weights in the gym and then did weights and cardio at home. It was a pretty good workout.
I am going to look at ways to count my calories. I really have no idea how many calories I am taking in. I have gained 4 pounds of the Thanksgiving holiday, so it is time to get serious again and get my weight back down.
 
So I feel awesome! I went to the gym today and worked out with a trainer and I can't tell you how much better my workout was! He really pushed me and I loved it!
I did 1 mile on the treadmill in 10.27, which is a little more than a minute faster than before. Then 1 mile on the eliptical in 7.25 and then 2 miles on the bike and I can't remember my time. But I am pretty proud of myself.
I have not been counting my calories today but I do plan to start doing that.
I did lose 2 pounds today, so that is good.
