Strictly BEFORE shots... Oh boy..

Please be nice. No way in heck would I normally post such unflattering pictures of myself online. I just turned 23 and I'm realizing that it is truly time for me to start leading a healthier life. I am genetically predisposed to heart disease and diabetes, among other things, and I really want to get my butt in gear before it's too late.

I always joke to my friends that I look like I've birthed 12 children (very self-deprecating, but that's me), but I honestly do believe that my body looks a lot older than it should at my age because of my weight and the way that I carry it. As humiliating as it is to share these pictures, I feel like once they are up it will be a huge boost in motivation for me to make sure that in the future I can post some awesome "in-between" and "after" shots. Maybe someday I'll even show my face, who knows! I'm shy.

To be clear, I'm 23, 5'4, 180 lbs as of right now. The plan is to get down to 140 by the end of June. Wish me luck! And again, I know some people can be rude, but trust me, I beat myself up enough as it is, I don't need any nasty comments!

Welcome to the Forum!! 40 pounds is totally doable!!!

No need to beat yourself up lady, honeslty I dont really think you look that bad... You have a figure... if you look in your behind shot you can see that hour-glass shape all women die for... Stay positive!!

:):)

Wow! Thanks for the support! I didn't expect replies so quickly. Just a few words of encouragement has already boosted my confidence so much.

IwanttoKEEPfit, I would battle you, but I'm pretty sure you're way ahead of me already! haha, good luck reaching your goal, though! Hopefully we'll both be all smiles by June.

I have to agree, I dont think you look that bad at all! Id love to be where you are right now! Good Luck, you'll definitley do it!

Haha.. that's why I wanted to battle... No, just kidding..

People who started ahead of us could be our inspiration.. And we can be an inspiration for other people later...

It doesn't matter when we start.. But THAT we start...

Oki, very good luck... Don't give up.. When you feeling down.. Or I do.. Just go to this forum... I'll be waiting for your journey and your story!

~~LOOKING forward to June~~

You look awesome for how much you weigh hun!!...you are going to have such a knockout body once your to your goal weight!!!

It sounds like we are in similar situations...I am also 23, 180lbs, but just a little taller. You can do it! Keep me updated...I'd love to hear about what works for you.

:seeya:Good on ya for posting your B4 pics...they will serve to inspire many, I'm sure!

Best wishes on your (very do-able) journey!

Like the girls said, you already have a good shape to you so that is a major positive. Now, no more talking bad about yourself out loud or on the computer. You have to quit that stuff. :smash: If someone says something negative or asks you about losing weight, just say "I'm working on it, so far I'm off to a good start." Or something like that. In no time at all people will start asking you if you have lost weight. It just gets better from there. It's a marathon but you can't give up. If you get down, just come here for motivation. :coolgleamA:

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with everyone else. You have killer curves! 40 lbs is very doable and you are gonna looking smokin'!! YOU GO GIRL!! :D

You and I both are 5'4" and around 180lbs. Except you have curves. My weight is carried more in my breast and stomach. Wow! I will check back in June and hope you reach your goal.

Thanks again to everyone who has offered their support! It was hard for me to post these pictures, but they are definitely keeping me motivated. My progress has been slow, but at least it's progress. Even if I don't make my exact goal by June, I should definitely have some much-improved after pictures to share!
