Stickin' to it

Well, due to TOM and unmanagable pains today, I didn't make to the gym. I kept a heating pad on for 8 hours (max amount of time that i could) took some midol and it took 2 hours for the pain to go away. Since removing the heating pad I can't get the pain to stop. I took more pain killers before the pain started up again too. :( This is BAD. UGH. I keep trying to not think worse possibilities like ectopic pregnancy etc, but it's hard not to when it's never been this bad before.

I hope the rest of you are doing well and got in your gym time and ate well today.

Today's Details:

Calories: 1210
Fat: 38G
Sodium: 2300mg
Carbs: 149G
Protein: 72G

I'm feeling a little better today. YAY.

Today is also Weigh-In Day. I have reached a new low (but not what I was hoping for) ... 152.6

I guess I'll list Weights from Jan1 to May 1 using 1st of the month.

Jan 1 = 174
Feb 1 = 164.4 -9.6
Mar 1 = 158.8 -6.4
Apr 1 = 158.2 -.6
May 1 = 152.6 -5.6

I guess I can't complain because every month I've had a loss, but I've not met my goal losses since Mar 1. I know the beginning of March had me starting weights at the gym, but I also know that can't be the only thing to cause such bad numbers by April 1 (if it has something to do with it at all). If things keep going at the rate they are, there is no way I'm going to reach 140 by June 1st, but that's okay I guess. I need to reevaluate and update my goal list now. Perhaps losing 5lbs per month the closer I get won't be realistic, but I hope I prove myself wrong.

New Goals
June 1: 147
July 1: 142
Aug 1: 137
Spe 1: 132

Today's exercises: Stair Master 15 mins, bike 10 mins, 2 laps around gym: one running foward and one backward, treadmill 10 mins at incline 8-12 and 3.2-4.0mph. Later I have a volleyball game and will do weights.

Totally diggin the new avi. Its a cute pic :)
I'm wondering if it is about time for a new one myself...

Glad to hear your feeling a little better, spending the day in bed with pain is never fun.

Sorry to hear about your hip flexor issues. Sometimes when I run I get issues with my right hip. It hasn't done it in a couple weeks but when it was acting up it felt like my hip was out of the socket or something... pretty painful. Hopefully everything will clear up and there will be no more hip pain for either of us because it makes it impossible to run.

I think your goals sound great. I kind of want to make one for myself for June 1st and see if I can hit it.

Hope you have a great rest of the night,
Sam

Thank you so much for the compliments, Sam. =) I am starting to feel better about the way that I look and I only hope it continues as the weight falls away.

I'm definitely feeling better today and yesterday was a huge improvement over Wednesday as well. As far as the hip flexor goes, I had a lot of movement yesterday and it seems to be doing ok today but I'm babying it right now.

Maybe you should set a June 1 Goal and we can push each other or something. I dunno. ... BTW, I totally vote YES for a new avatar too! =) I'll be waiting.

So, I'm feeling really good today. Because of my poetry class this semester, I have written some good and some bad poetry and I am on a poetry forum online and the members have voted one of my poems the best poem submitted on the forum. I feel very excited to have one of my poems chosen for the forum as one of the best thus far and hope that I can only succeed in creating more poetry that is felt to be of high quality.

I didn't get weights in yesterday. After my volleyball game, hubby and I went to the gym and he wanted to do his running, so I did another 10-15 mins on the stairs and then walked on the treadmill again until he finished. We'll kick back up to doing the weights tonight, and are modifying our program to include 4-6 Lower body exercises and 6-8 upper body exercises. =)

I also am a mystery shopper and had a restaurant mystery shop to do last night. I really hope I didn't over do it, but hubby and I shared a light meal and an appetizer. It was good.

Fun, your a mystery shopper? That sounds intriguing to me:)

I will work on a new avatar and get it up soon.... I'm supposed to be getting my hair dyed and cut on Monday, so maybe if it turns out the way I want it I will put it up as an avatar.

So I'm really glad your starting to feel better about the way you look and stuff. That is part of what this is all about:)

I've been slacking a little bit on the weights lately. I need to try to kick them back up to how much I was doing them awhile ago. We all know how important strength training is but sometimes I get to the gym and just want to get my cardio done and leave... I'm working on it ;)

I'm definitely down to be in a challenge to see how much everybody can lose by 6/1. I told Darwin that I would be down for it too, so maybe there will be a bunch of us doing it? I'm excited. Now I just gotta get in the mindset of the gym being a 2nd home, lol:) I think it would be good for everyone who wants to so that we can make May really count! Plus, Pride her in SLC is in the beginning of June and if I could wear my skinny jeans that are a size 32, I would be over the moon:)

Hope your having an excellent weekend,
-Sam

Your new avatar and goals look great!

I'm so glad you are having more positive feelings about your looks/body, because you are beautiful!

Just thought I'd do a quick update here.

Saturday: The State Powerlifting competition was at my gym yesterday so when hubby and I went to do our workout, we used mostly machines as 99.9% of the free weights we could use weren't available. We have changed to a 3X/week weights and cardio on opposite days (and I'll still sneak in some cardio on those days we do weights too). We are doing full body 12 exercises with 4-6 lower body and 6-8 upper body.

Sunday: Cardio (running day) today we went out to do a run and went to a park by our house. We weren't sure how about the distance, but hubby said we would park at the end and then beginning and back to the car. So this is what we did. It was amazing to be outside, but there's so much crap in the air that it was flying into our eyes the entire time.

Anyway, we ran the entire time (well, I tried to walk 3 times for about 3-5 seconds each time) but hubby kept encouraging me to pick up the pace to a jog but no walking! We finished 4.3 miles in 42:36 (I had on a stop watch and started and stopped at the end). That is running a 9.85 minute mile. Which is really good considering that I have never run that far before EVER, and it was outside with hills and stuff. So I'm starting to feel better about a 5K but I still don't feel 100% ready for it. I think I'll try to run this same distance a few times before signing up. So I guess I'm on into week 8 now. =D

Hope you all are having a happy Sunday!

Hi!

Just stopping by to see how you are doing. That's cool that you and your dh workout together at the gym. I've tried to get mine to go to the Y, but he doesn't like crowds. Right now his knee is giving him problems; in fact he had to have an MRI done on it. So it doesn't look like I'll have any luck convincing him to come to the gym.

Pretty cool about your poetry! I tried a poetry class in college, but it wasn't what I thought it would be, so I dropped it. :) I don't mind dissecting poems and such, but I wasn't too good at it. ;)

Congrats on the mile! Under 10 minutes is a BIG step.

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I was amazed that my average for the 4.3 miles was under 10 mins per mile too.

Thanks for stopping by SweatPea! I hope your hubby's knee gets better soon. How are your workouts coming along? I hope you had a nice business trip!

Sunday: Running
Monday: Weights
Tuesday: Free
Wednesday: Cardio: 30 minutes stairclimber 114 floors Levels 6-5 (15 mins each) and 1.3 miles treadmill (15 mins). Weights later
Thursday: more cardio or running

We are heading out of town tomorrow for 1.5 weeks. My mom is having surgery tomorrow and we'll be heading to the beach first and then to her house on Sunday.

Tomorrow is also weigh in day for me, so I hope I see a loss from last Thursday. =) Wish me luck.

We also should be getting our vehicle back from our fender bender, but it's not because the shop called to tell us. They picked it up 1.5 weeks ago (it had to be towed) and we haven't heard a word from them since we authorized them to start working on it. I called yesterday and they said it'd be ready yesterday or today.. I hope they call when it's ready. Just in time to go out of town, YAY!

I hope you all are doing well and seeing a loss on the scales, in inches or in other ways you are watching.

Have fun going out of town, that sucks about your car though. A nice vacation at the beach sounds nice, and I hope your mom does well with her surgery and makes a full recovery :)

Your running is blowing my mind. I think it's great that your dh is so good about working out with you, and you him. Your turning into a running machine!;)

Tell Sam the gorilla "hi" for me ;)

Take Care,
Sam

Thanks, Sam. I hope she does too!

Hubby has always been really good about working out when I do. He's always been pretty fit except during the 2-5 years of our marriage - we both kinda got in this rut and didn't do much of anything then. LOL

Today is Weigh in Day, and the scale was good to me YAY. All this hard work is paying off.

Weight 151.2 that is -1.4 lbs from last Thursday YAY!

I gotta get things ready for leaving today. See you all later!

About darn time that that scale starts to behave. Congratulations. You can taste the 140's, can't you. You're soooo close. I'm hoping I can hold on to them. My scale's acting stupid. I swear it is the scale's fault not mine! DOWN WITH SCALES!

Have a great trip!

DH has a torn miniscus (knee), he has to see a specialist. I was actually on a school field trip. It was ok, but I was a little disappointed with the set-up of things and the teacher, she was very arrogant.

Congrats on your new numbers! Have fun on your trip (well you're already gone now, but hope you do have a great time!)

Hey gang! I hope you all have been doing well. I was out of town there for 2 weeks and it should have only been 1.5 weeks. I wasn't great with eating nor was I great with exercising after the first weekend. I'm not sure what it is but when I'm at mom's I just can't seem to keep myself on track much of the time. :( So here I am back home and back on track eating and can't wait to get back to the gym.

I started my summer classes last week and have 7 weeks left of one and 9 weeks of the other. I also have one additional one that I must start in 4 weeks that will last 5 weeks.

June 7 will find me heading up to the NE USA for a real vacation. While I was at moms I helped her with getting yardsale stuff together and with a yardsale, and I also worked on one of her rooms, ripping out baseboards, patching walls and holes and getting it ready to be painted. I then smashed my finger so bad (the one that I had a torn ligament in for the last 6 months) and I had to stop working and keep ice on it. It was swelled for a few days but it's back to normal and getting less sore to the touch. I'm sure if it had been anywhere else on my finger, that I would have snapped it in 2, but it was caught around my knuckle and I'm positive that saved it. =)

So, here I am with TOM visiting and trying to kill me, but I hopefully will feel like working out this week regardless.

I'll try to visit diaries soon!
