Stickin' to it

Tasha is a very beautiful name. I've always liked it. It's so uncommon. I think that's why I love it. It's not a popular name like 'Mary' and/or 'Emily'. Oh, I'll call you Tash, hon. I love it. LOL.

I hate insurance companies. They drive me up the wazoo. Thank GOD yours provides you with a gym. I'd definatly check that out too if I were you.

Again, your food list impresses me. I'm always eating the same thing everyday and though I always seem to spice it up a little, it's always based on the same thing...carbs and veggies. haha.

I'm coming to your house for dinner, honey. LOL.

Awww, thank you.. :blush5:

As far as dinner is concerned, I'm thinking it's going to take you about.. 14-15 hours, so it might be better if you leave about 1 or 2am to make it for dinner tomorrow, AND, make sure you account for the timezone shift. heh. So, what should we have tomorrow? I can do homemade low fat low cal lasagna or perhaps english muffin pizza's with whole grain breads and turkey pepperonis. YUMMY. I need to figure out my meals for the week.

Hubby and I lived in Minneapolis for a year when we were first married, and man, that drive home at Christmas and then when we moved back to VA it was tough.

Ok, before my daily weight and food post, I'm going to do something that I don't really do.

So, hi (again) everyone. I'm Tasha. Yes, that's my real name and I normally don't share it online in forums or anything like that, I'm always worried about crazies I guess. Well, I have been here over a year, and I like referring to people by their names - it makes the whole experience a little more personal. So, please call me Tasha or photo or whatever it's up to you. I answer to almost anything.

As far as the pronunciation of my name, it's not like a lot of people pronounce it with the 'ah' sound after the c in cot. It's like the schwa or the 'a' sound after the c in 'cat'. My mother decided she wanted to torture me for the rest of my life and pronounced it that way.

Anyways.. here goes my normal daily stuff.

Just found out that our health insurance company gives a 60% discount for members of a specific health club in our area and I think we are going to take advantage of it YAY!!!! So, now I'm going to start looking into that and see what is available for this particular club. :jump:

I've also been dealing with the ridiculous insurance company this morning (health) for listing a recent claim as me using a non participating provider when the idiots who process the claim don't have sense enough to see that the claim numbers provided to them are for one state and they are denying them based on claim numbers from another state. Can we say :boxing::mad:

Well, I'm putting it on hold for 2 weeks to see what happens.

Sounds like your diet is pretty solid!!! I'm very impressed, because like rach, I eat the same things over and over. I guess its because i find it easier, but your dinner sounds terribly good. lol, I don't even know what I'm going to eat tonight, its kind of a spur of the moment feeling when i get home.

Have a great afternoon,
Trevor

Awww, gee, Thanks! I'm really working hard on eating as much organic and whole grain as possible and really have found that some things are just as good or better. (Perhaps my tastes are changing).

Although don't get confused.. last night, I saw a Wendy's commercial where a lady has a fish sandwich and breaks a piece of it off to show the insides.. well, I was thinking of snicker bars and how I'd break open the candy bar like that hehe.

Hello my alter ego! It appears that we have a heck of a lot in common. We're the same age, high school reunions this year, started couch-5k the same day and both photography and image editing have been on my resume. Interesting...

Just curious, if you don't mind my asking: What's your bachelors in?

Awesome diary BTW.

Ut oh, I feel like I am being quizzed and afraid of the answer...hehe.

I don't have the bachelors yet, but I'm majoring in English. I'm finishing the last 2 classes for my major now and will have 8 credits to go this summer.

This is really neat that we have so much in common. WOW. Do you use any photography sites to upload photos and such?

Oh definatly the pasta. I haven't had any in such a long time. We can have the english muffin pizzas for breakfast considering I wouldn't want to make the fifteen hour drive home tomorrow night. LOL.

I can believe it. Though I enjoy car rides, after about three hours, they tend to get on my nerves. I really do think it's because I can't fathom being sedentary for too long. I don't understand how people can be lazy. It just *wouldn't* work for me. I've always got to be moving.

No I haven't. Do you? I never even thought of using one. Unfortunately photography has had to be put on the back burner for a while since I'm so busy with school. I did a bachelors in Fine Arts back in 2003 and a lot of my work had a photography component. I also photographed weddings on the side while I was in my undergrad. I haven't done it for a while but I might have one lined up for this summer. They are fun but sometimes very stressful because I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

Now that I've hijacked your diary... What type of photography are you interested in?

I love capturing anything behind the camera, but I am not a great photographer and have had no formal training. I tried to get into some classes here for electives to finish my degree, and they require drawing as a prereq to photography.. I'm not quite sure what one has to do with the other, but I can't draw a stick figure..so it probably won't happen.

I love nature and macro photography and people. I use flickr and there you can have accounts that link to other flickr members. I joined one group that my friend asked me to join, and it's a lot of fun, but I haven't had much time to do as much because of my current school load and due to missing school for a week and trying to catch back up.

Ut oh. I got this too late, and we had the lasagna last night. Oops. Just wait until you hear what I'm having tonight.. YUMMY!

An even better dinner tonight, huh? Well, I'm a gal who can't pass up deliciousness, whether it be on my plate or on the movie screen yelling in an Irish accent and parading around in a wife beater...

Yep, Tonights menu will be:

Whole wheat Chix enchiladas.

Boil chicken, mix with cheese sauce, fill tortilla and roll, place in pan and top w/enchilada sauce and 2% mexican cheese. We'll have some fatfree refried beans and perhaps some veggie.. not sure what maybe corn or something else.
Hmmm.. I could put the corn inside the tortilla.. hmm.

Mmmmm... enchiladas!

I love your name, and I am SO happy that you broke into the 150's!! I can't wait to join you! :D

I am excited to hear your thoughts on the Couch - 5K, and I would love to hear more about this club you joined! I am so honored that you thought of me! :)

Yeah, that seems kind of bizarre but if I knew anything about photography or drawing it might make sense on some level. I mean, I guess principles of line/shade & perspective apply to both. And framing.

But drawing as a prerequisite to photography?? explain that one to me.

It might to do with learning composition and basic design concepts. However, what I really think is that photography classes are pretty popular in university, so they try to limit enrollment by putting some crazy prerequisite on it. At my U, photography was a part of the graphic design department so you had all the first year studio courses as prerequisite. THEN, they had attached it to a typography course making the combination of the two a 9hr/wk full year course. You couldn't take one without the other. Needless, to say few people outside of the program take it as an elective. For me, my fine art program offered photography as its own course, but it was just for us in the program. It was a required course in my degree (one of the few really awesome requirements).

For the average person photography courses are best taken out of the university setting. Then you can really focus in on what you want to learn. Some community colleges have outreach photography courses that don't give credits. Otherwise, check out artist-run organizations. Some studios often give classes if they have darkroom facilities. If you love photography a black and white darkroom course is a must. Its so much darn fun and opens so many more doors. One of these days I'm gonna set up my own darkroom at home. Although these days, it seems a looooong ways away.

Ooooh macro lenses...definitely a favorite of mine, too.

I've heard a lot of good things about flickr. If I ever join I'll let you know.
