Okay, so maybe Stasia won't get skinny, but she'll sure as heck get healthy!
On Monday, January 12, I was prescribed Zoloft for my anxiety. After reading the horror stories online of people gaining massive amounts of weight, I decided to recharge my weight loss journey and defy the Zoloft!
I am 21 years old, and at my heaviest I weighed around 195. Never wanting to break the 200 barrier, I began losing weight. I got down to 155 and hovered in the 160s for a year or so. Then I got married in November of 2007. You know what happened.
I ended up weighing 190 pounds just a year after we tied the knot. I have lost a little bit since then. My husband insists I haven't gained weight. He makes me feel sexy, but when I step on the scale, I know I don't want to let myself get to an even higher number. I know what that can do.
My mom tipped the scale two years ago at 300 pounds, diabetic, depressed, taking way too many pills a day. Six months ago, she reached her goal of 150pounds and completely medication free. My mom is my hero, but her journey has made me very aware of my own road.
I started actively trying to lose weight exactly one week ago. My scale read 182 pounds. This morning, I was thrilled for the scale to tell me I was 178.
How much weight do you want to lose? I would like to get down to 140 pounds. From where I am now, that's 38 pounds.
What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? I have a short-term goal of 162 by my birthday (February 16). That is exactly four weeks from yesterday, and I have 16 pounds to lose. It's a big goal, but I usually lose pretty fast. I'll see where I am then, and set a time goal for my 140. Definitely by May 17th, my husband's birthday. Maybe his birthday present can be something for me to wear to show off my new body, haha.
How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? I ride the stationary bike 30 minutes a day, and do a random show on Fit tv 30 min to an hour a day. I watch what I eat, and eat often.
Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? My husband, though so far he's kind of failing.
He has a bad habit of offering me Cheetos and the like.
How realistic is your goal? I think it's very realistic for myself. I do better with bigger goals. It motivates me to push myself, and not reaching my goals never bothers me. As long as I've done my best, I'm always proud of the things I've accomplished.
When will you start? Last week!
