Starting Over

Glad to hear you will be looking for counselling. Sounds like you really need it in your job!

I'm curious, do you enjoy your job, company, or industry you are in? Or why do you seem so willing to put up with the stress?

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the whole needing a job thing, but it sounds like it is a lot of stress that is leaking into other aspects of your life and affecting your health. And I know how hard it can be to find new work too but.. Would a job change either within the company, to a new company in the same industry, or even a completely different job be better for you? I've been in that predicament myself before. I put up with it as long as I could but when I finally couldn't handle it my husband supported my decision to quit. Luckily I was able to find new work quick enough, but definitely not an easy decision to make. And I wouldn't recommend leaving if you can stick it out until you find something else to move on to. Financial stress is horrible.

Whatever you choose, make sure you take care of yourself. Hopefully you can start counselling soon and find some other stress relievers to help you cope with it all.

Thank you icychic. I'm not really in the right head space to give this a proper reply (stressful day, brain is shut off), but I do appreciate you taking the time to give a well thought out comment. Everything you say makes sense.

Counselling sounds like a good idea (& inexpensive with your insurance). A dog eat dog work environment does not sound very healthy :(
Yeah, it's not healthy. I never got around to researching counselors. I'm actually going to start looking tonight.

Yesterday:
Weight- 126.2
Exercise- 2 miles on treadmill
Alcohol- Zero (this was a bit of a struggle yesterday)

Food:
Egg and cheese on an english muffin - 300
Salad (lettuce, tuna, cucumbers, peppers) - 250
Mozzarella and tomatoes - 190
1 small piece of cake (it was someone's birthday at work and I couldn't/didn't want to say no) - 400?
Baked Chicken - 300
Bread crumbs - 100
Mayo - 200
Steamed broccoli, carrots, water chest nuts, snap peas - 100

After dinner I was still "hungry." I should have just gone to bed and ignored it, but instead I had 1-2 cups of white rice (an extra 200-300 cals?). All in all, not the best food day. Not the worst either though. So ready for the weekend.

Hey, if you´re so cravey you eat plain white rice you might as well be hungry. Much better than chocolate!

I like plain white rice....I've eaten it plain, or with some lemon juice, or with plain yogurt. I don't think I could ever do a low carb diet. I like my rice and potatoes and pasta and bread...

Hope the last few days were good.

Today's weight: 125.5

I've kind of been bad about writing down everything I eat and tracking calories lately. Despite that, my eating hasn't been too bad. It hasn't been too good either. Like I'm not eating mcdonalds for breakfast and pizza for lunch, but I am eating things like preprepared salads, diet soda, etc. I would really love to clean up my diet so that it consists of 80% lean meat, fruits, veggies, and nuts.. get rid of the processed shit and artificial sweetner. However, I feel like I have to tackle one thing at a time. My weight is still going in the right direction, so maybe I can focus on getting to 115 for now, and then adjust my diet to be more "healthy" during maintenance. Or maybe this weekend when I have the opportunity to go food shopping, I will veer towards all natural food again. We'll see.

I haven't had alcohol since Saturday night (8/20/17). Yesterday after work, I forced myself to go for a walk at the park and it was nice. I did the treadmill in the morning as usual (2 miles). And I did another 2 miles at the park, so 4 miles in total yesterday. Going to try to do that again today (getting on treadmill shortly for my morning 2 miles).

I have a new dinner dish that I really like. It's chicken breast with a little mayo and I sprinkle bread crumbs over it. with 4oz chicken, 1/2 tablespoon of mayo, and 1/2 a servicing of breadcrumbs, it's only about 250 calories. I've been eating it with steamed veggies and sweet potato- so good and filling too.

Yeah, it wasn't bad. The options were limited and I just wanted something more in my greedy stomach, so it did the trick :)

I'm amazed that you ate plain rice. I think you must have been hungry, rather than "hungry" :D
Still not a bad day :)
I've always kind of enjoyed plain white rice. Have eaten it straight out of a chinese food container on more occasions than I care to admit lol. It was slim pickings, what can I say :)

Changing everything at the same time is hard. As long as you're going in the right direction I think it's important to do the right thing when you feel like you can do it and not get toooo fussy about it all.
