Starting Over

Great news. I just received a phone call from a local television station and have been asked to come on their saturday morning show to discuss the benefit party. Woot!

I'll have something nice to wear because I have the best husband ever. Yesterday he decided I needed a completely new wardrobe to look cute in until I can fit into my old clothing again. He stocked my entire closet full of new and really cute clothing plus 3 new pairs of shoes. He threw all my current stuff in the garbage and told me I am not allowed to dress frumpy anymore. The new clothing is great and I actually feel good it it. He even got me tons of accessories to go with everything. He also helped me dye my hair back to dark brown. (I had highlights in it for summer). He spoils me way too much!

YAY YAY and YAY!!!

you'll have to get us a video of the interview for the party so we can see your smiling face :)

what ag ood boy you're m arried to - that's so wonderful :)

Wow, very cool that you'll be on TV and you get to promote your benefit. How exciting!

That is so damn sweet of H, after more than 2 years of dressing frumpy (including during the pregnancy itself ha ha) I agree its definitely time to get nice things that fit you properly. Once you go down half a size you can have some things taken in at the waist to make it last longer. I dressed mad frumpy until June, so I know exactly how it feels. I had about 2 pairs of pants and a few tops that I wore over and over. Ugh, glad that's over with!

Thanks. Sean is a pretty great husband. He pises me off sometime like all husbands do but I am very luckyto have him. We are one of those couples who are disgustingly happy. The clothes make me feel like an actual female again. I never thought a new wardrobe would help so much. I had to go down a size in my pants and 2 sizes in my tops so that's awesome!

Once again I didn't get my ass out on the pavement last night. It was storming when I got home so I stayed in and cleaned the house all evening. That's got to burn some calories right? Especially if you are constantly cleaning up after an 11-month old whose favorite game is to unfold the laundry and pull toys out of their baskets only to crawl away and not play with them.

I only had 56 carbs and 1470 calories. Calories are kind of low but the carbs are good.

Awwww that Sean of yours is an absolute doll. Lucky girl. :D Also, congrats with shrinking down a few more sizes, Amy! So have you picked up everything you need for this weekend (clothes wise)? And have you decided how you want to do your hair and makeup? You're going to look killer!

You're such a trooper. I can't do anything except feed and play with the baby after I get home from the office. I usually do all my cleaning on Fridays on my day off. Have a good one TTYL!

I need to floow MGB's lead and start posting all food and workouts here. So here's yesterday's accomplishments. If you want to call it that.

Breakfast:
EAS Protein Shake (110 calories, 2 carbs)

Snack:
1/2 cup Mixed Nuts (438 calories, 8 carbs)

Lunch:
3oz. Tuna with Light Mayo (150 calories, 1 carb)
6 crackers (90 calories, 10 carbs)

Snack:
Laughing Cow Cheese Wheel (47 calories, 0 carbs)
Jello Sugar Free Pudding Snack (34 calories, 8 carbs)

Dinner:
Chicken Wings (650 calories Ouch!, 0 carbs)
Pinto Beans - 1 cup (290 calories, 20 carbs)

Total Calories - 1809
Total Net Carbs - 49

I forgot to add a couple items on fitday so my earlier count of 1470 calories was wrong and I forgot to deduct the fiber from the pinto beans so the carbs are actually lower. BooYeah!!

Exercise:
NONE!! Wow, I'm such a lazy ass.

You are NOT a lazy ass. Dont distort things and dont feel bad that you cant go running when its storming outside. I'm sure Annabelle wouldn't appreciate you injuring yourself out there!

I only got 2 out of 3 miles in last night due to the storm. I was soaked from the rain when I finally reached my driveway. It felt pretty good. I did weight training for 45 minutes and went to bed early. I went a little higher with my carbs yesterday. I had about 70. I am incredibly tired and busy today so I will have to keep this short. Thanks Blancita for telling me about Hood milk. Yum! This will definitely help with any sweet cravings I may have. Gotta go to a meeting for now. I am doing another charity event for my firm. I need a vacation!

Glad you like the Hood milk. Try the Hood 2% regular milk too, its also lower in calories and only has 3 carbs per cup. Enjoy your busy day :).

How long are you going to do this? Are you going to cycle in some carbs after a little while on this ketosis nonsense? I sure couldn't keep it up longer than a few days without something carby.

What charities are these 2 events for?

Well, hope this message finds you well Amy :).

The charities are for the Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure and a design event called "Canstruction". It is in every state including NYC and benefits charities that battle hunger in the US. Go to canstruction.com and you'll see what amazing structures these firms design and build out of canned food.

I'm not sure how long I plan to cycle the carbs. Some days I have a low amount and some days around 60-90. It just depends on how my sugar levels are doing that day really.

I just read that "some study" (for whatever that's worth) noted that people who are apple shaped lose weight best on a low carb diet, whereas pear shaped people tend to lose the same amount of weight whether they do low carb or low calorie (in other words it has no special effect on their metabolism). I think it had to do with how each body type handles insulin differently. As for me, I'm pear shaped but the low carb helps me control my appetite and calories so I dont care about the study ha ha.

I am pear shaped also and the low carb helps keep me form getting hungry too. We all know the low calorie thing wasn't working!!

Is it me or is all my girls doing low carb as of late? HA! Hey whatever helps with the weight loss ... as long as it isn't forever. Sometimes a bitch just needs to big out on fresh baked bagels and bread... yum.. hahaaa! I hope everything is going well with the charity event, doll!

Hey Amy, you need to change your ticker back to the weight tracker as I've lost track of your prior weight! But you sound excited so I can see you lost! Yay!!! But how much?! A whole pound would be great :).

Eating a bit more could also be accounting for things. Dont you have that RMR test appointment coming up?
