Starting Over

Let's hope the new med combo works out. It really is great that your doc is being cool about this. A lot of them would just poo poo that book. Even if your weight probably won't change until the new treatment begins, at least you've had some decent weight loss over the last few weeks to keep you happy. I was so thrilled you and Kim lost so much during the challenge!

I'm sure I will work up to the 5k. What I need to do is get my eating under control so I can start losing weight again. I'm sick of stagnating here. :ack2:

Just popping in to say I hope you are all ok there. I heard Arkansas got hit by that string or tornados. Hopefully it didn't get near you or any of your family/friends. :grouphug:

We're okay here in LR but other parts got slammed pretty hard again. My poor dad had to crawl under the bed at our cabin on the lake in Helena, AR. The weird thing is that 13 other cabins around his were completely destroyed and either thrown in the lake or across the road but his only sustained roof damage. He walked away unscathed so I'm happy!

Wow! Glad to hear your dad is ok. It's funny how tornados strike like that. Several years ago my cousin's neighbor's garage was completely destoryed in a tornado. But their house and all the houses around them were fine.

Looks like the earliest I can get is in 10:30--11am ish. Is that soon enough? If not, I can always fly in to LR the night before if you can let me crash somewhere at your place. My flight back on Sunday would leave LR at 5pm. Will that work with Kim and Claudia's flights? Let me know. :)

Either one sounds fine to me, we have plenty of room for you to crash here. Let me check and see what time Claudia is getting in.

Since the Clinton Library is in LR, I might just fly in the day before so I can visit it. :D Plus maybe you and Bella and I could go for a walk by the lake I've heard you talk about. :)

That sounds fantastic! I was actually thinking of how we could squeeze in a visit to the library since we drive right past it from the airport to Fayetteville.

 I get to go to the Clinton Library. :D I'm sure you think I'm totally silly, but I can't help myself. :D If you ever want to go to the Gerald Ford Museum here in Grand Rapids sometime, I'll be more than happy to take you--I actually really like going there. :)

I see that it's only 3.77 miles from the airport according to Mapquest. So I was thinking that if you had to work, I could just walk there or take a taxi from the airport. But if you wanna come with, that would be even better. :)

I've been pretty busy at work, I need to look into this. Is Fayetville nearby you or ES, or where should I be flying into?

Lol!! The Ford Museum would be really cool. I think you are really going to like the Clinton Museum, it's really beautiful. And a LEED building which is impressive.

Trust me you don't want to walk from the airport, it's outside of town near the ghetto. Lol!! It won't be a problem at all for me to take off work, I'd love to walk you around the River Market which is where the library is located.

Fayetteville is near ES and LR is where I live. LR is cheaper to fly into but it's about a 2-hour drive to pick up MLB in Fort Smith and another hour to ES from there. It just depends on where you want to fly into.

Wow, I didn't know you're only 2 hours from MLB. Have you spoken lately?

That would be cool to see LR and MLB's house too! he he

I'll check out the tickets when I get a second.

Have a good one mama.

I actually live 4 hours from her but her grandmother lives in Ft. Smith and we will be picking her up there. She and I are planning on getting together sometime this summer since 4 hours isn't really that far either.

LR is actually a really great town and is getting better every year. The River Market down by the library has tons of great restaurants and fantastic art galleries. Sean and I used to live in a loft in the River Market overlooking the river, loved it.

I hope you can make it into LR but if the drive is too much, I completely understand.

Ok, so I'd take a taxi instead of walking through the ghetto..lol But I'd much rather have you along since you get take off work..:)

I'm getting really excited about this trip! I think we're going to have a lot of fun--even before we get to ES..lol.

The Ford Museum is pretty cool, and they usually have a temporary exhibit that is interesting. On the other side of the state is the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village--which is even better imo.

Claudia--you might as well fly into LR, as you'll either spend 4hrs in a car with Amy and me or 4hrs in airports dealing with crabby travellers and airport employees. :D

I'd LOVe to see Greenfield Village!

I'm getting excited about the trip too! I hope MLB can make it with her new job and all. Claud, 3-4 hours in a car with us shouldn't bee too bad, I'm sure we all would make the most of it.

The Henry Ford Museum is just as good at the village, imo. Both are great. The museum houses what they believe is the actual chair Lincoln was shot in, plus they have some famous presidential limosines and a letter to H. Ford from Clyde Barrow telling him how he always found Fords to be the best getaway cars...lmao!!

Yup, Claudia--even if it's a Wednesday, I promise to leave your boobs alone during the car ride. :smilielol5:

Okay, here are the promised boobie soapings. :waving::waving: :drool5:

Ya know, with Sean being gone for so long, you might be desperate enough for a lil lezzie action by then...

Scuuuuuuuuuze me!!!
But I happen to have first dibs if Amy ever goes to the homo side of town!
Did I say that out loud??? :leaving:

Sooooo, the past three weeks have been hectic. Sean was gone a couple of weeks ago for 7 days so I decided to take that week off from the gym. Last week I only got half of my usual exercise time in but what I did get was great. Sean is gone again this week so I will be unable to get much exercise in until this weekend when he gets home. I got 45 minutes of weight training and pilates in last night after the baby went to bed and hope to have time to jog around the neighborhood with her in the stroller tonight.

I have recently started the "thyroid diet" which isn't much different than my typical diet but I have now switched EVERYTHING to organic and changed the quantity of food at different times. Blanchard suggests eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. So instead of my usual two boiled eggs and whole grain toast for breakfast, I am eating an omelet, two pieces of toast and half a piece of fruit or a smoothie. It will take some getting used to with so much food first thing in the morning, but I am finding that I am barely hungry at night and have to force the grilled protein and tossed salad down. Instead of 6 small meals a day, I am now consuming 4 (3 meals, 1 snack) with each being a different quantity.

I have been doing this for almost a week and the scale came back down to 165, it had been showing 167 for a couple weeks. I hope this is due to the changes in my diet and not just loss of water weight. I will find out soon enough if the scale decides to drop some more. I will definitely be on the new treatment by friday so I hope to have answers soon. This diet is designed to help people with this problem to LOSE weight (even if slowly) while in the midst of trying to balance out one's hormones. It basically helps MAKE my body burn calories more efficiently.

Claud, Kimberly, have you both decided whether you are coming in on wednesday or thursday in september?
