Starting Fresh..Looking for support!

Last night was good! No slip ups lol!! Very proud of myself.. its becoming easier and easier everyday( although it has only been 3 days :D ) I feel good.. but last night i felt kinda weird.. my arm kinda went numb, and i was getting a lil short of breathe.. it was making me pretty nervous!!!

but other than that all is well! i can feel every muscle in my body!..lol and boy r they sore!!!! But thats what i get for stopping exercising!

O and... I'm thinking of having 1 1/2 serving of hamburger helper for dinner.. there r 510 calories all together.. and 6g. fat.... Is that healthy?... and ok to eat on a diet???:confused:
 
I'm not sure there's anything that's NOT ok to eat on a healthy eating plan - if it's what you want - depriving yourself is what leads to binges...

however - id' bet since it's processed, it's high in sodium and probably low in fiber so you could make your own version of hamburger helper with whole grain noodles, a low fat low sodium soup base, and lean ground beef...
 
so if its low in all of that stuff, its not that healthy?

Will it slow down me losing weight??

I'm still new at all the sodium and fiber..etc. b4 i only watched the fat :eek: lol but this time Ive only been watching calorie and fat, Ive never really paid attention to the other stuff
 
more than 2400 mg of sodium a day isn't good for you - high sodium can lead to high blood pressure, it also causes water retention, which slows down weight loss...

Having at least 20 - 30 mg of fiber in your diet a day is good for helping to control cholesterol, helps keep you "regular", and helps with that feeling full feeling which leads to less overeating - all of which are good for you.

at your age you probably don't have to worry so much abut it -but it's a good habit to build for the rest of your life -- so you don't get tomy age and have to do it all ove again.
 
if you use an online food journal -and there are tons of free ones out there like or or - the one that is the best is the one you are most comfortable using - there are more as well... theonline food journal will keep track of those nutrients for you and makes it easy to monitor...

Ok.. I'm really sore today.. and idk if i should exercise today... but I'm not sure how many days a week i should exercise.. and how many consistent days i should idk.. i will feel horrible if i take today off... but..i don't want to get SO sore that i cant do nething..and then ill fall off the diet!

Any suggestions... how many days a week does everyone usually do cardio?... and for how many consecutive days?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!:eek:

I guess i could try to do someting else.. but i dont really know what. I would go for a walk i would love that.. but I dont really like the neighborhood i live in right now (thank god were moving!) so i cant really go for a walk...

If you're still really sore, I'd say you shouldn't do any weight training today. You can do cardio as it's always great to burn off calories. With weight training you're exerting your muscles, and it's important to give them time to rest and regenerate, otherwise you risk damaging your muscles, which is contrary to your goal.

You don't have to exercise every single day, unless you really want to. If you choose to, then be sure to alternate between cardio on one day and weight training on the next. That way, you're not constantly putting your body under strain, and are giving your body valuable time to rest and develop muscle. Don't forget that you'll be doing this for a fair while, so don't place too much strain on yourself or you may not be able to sustain it.

Not many, but if I remember correctly, you were really under-eating already, so I wouldn't worry about it.
 
home made food or was this prepackaged?

has a searchable database that you could enter potatoes, ham, carrots and get approximates - or use one of the online food journals mentioned above.
 
Well heres my Food Log for Day #3

Breakfast:
2 Slices of toast w/ spray butter: 130 calories 2g. fat
1 Serving of Strawberry Delight mini wheats dry: 180 calories 1g. fat


Lunch:
1 Toasted cheese sandwhich made with spray butter: 190 calories 6g. fat
1 cup of chicken noodle soup: 140 calories 4g. fat


Dinner:
1 cup of Hamburger Helper: 340 calories 4g. fat

Snack:
1 Mixed Fruit Cup: 80 calories 0g. fat

With a total of 1060 calories and 17 grams of fat. Well at least its getting better!!! i feel GREAT tho!!!

Do you normally eat that low of calories, or was today an exception?

As for how often to work out, I don't know what the "right" answer is, but I strength train 3 days a week and go for my walk 6 days a week.
 
No, M2M.. my calories usually rnt that low.. but when i start a diet i tend to think that i can rarely eat anything.. but I'm trying not to do that.. so I'm still getting use to it!.. but I'm getting better.. and eventually ill get the hang of it! :p
 
Ugh.. I hate drinking so much water!!.. Only because I have to pee every 10 mins lol...

Ahh.. o well.. at least i have to run up stairs to get to the potty;) lol..More exercise!! haha
 
Once your body gets used to the amount of water you're taking in, you probably won't have to pee as often!

At least that's how it worked for me.

Glad to hear you're not always eating that low...I was doing that for a long time, and it's just not worth it.

What helped me, is to plan out my meals the day before, (with wiggle room) so if I want to eat 1800 calories in a day divided by 3 meals and 3 snacks, I'd break up the calories into groupings.

Otherwise, I was ending the day with too few.

Last night i did weight training for about 15 mins!.. so at least it was something!

Today i still have that headache.. idk but i think its just from me dropping my calories...my body still isn't used to it:confused: Idk but i hope it goes away soon because its really dragging me down.. i mean I'm not stopping the dieting or exercsing..its just got me in a bad mood lol!

I think Ive finally got my calories just about where i want them!... but we will c later how much they add up to!

Well I'm off to finish making dinner, ill b back later to post my food log for Day FOUR!!!!:D
