Stage 1: The long road to the New Year

Day 79: Sunday Evening (61 days remaining)

Well, the weekend (Days 77-78) was an aweful mess.

My wife's school had their yearly Gala day (fundraising) and I was drafted in to assist "as required". This basically meant Friday eveing spent sorting through second hand goods and putting prices on things, carrying heavy objects to and from trucks, pre-cooking meat for BBQs and the Hangi (a traditional Maori cooking method). I didn't get home until midnight and I was up again at 6am to go open everything up.

For most of Saturday I was on the BucketTip attraction (a toilet with a bucket of water above it. The Kids throw balls at a target and if they hit, I get soaked). Let me tell you; 8 hours of picking up balls, collecting money, being soaked over and over agian.... My quads workout for the next week is paid for in advance LOL

Needless to say, Today was spent recovering. First with a long sleep in, then with an afternoon of work in front of tv.
I went to my meeting tonight and had my injection of "I will not drink this week" which really does give me the right mindset for the week ahead.

I haven't bothered with the food or exercise logs for the last 3 days as they were a bit chaotic. I am sure my weigh-in tommorrow will be ok, however, as I didn't binge at any point and also got plenty of exercise...but we'll see

Wow, busy weekend Paul. sounds like you got a fair bit of a workout though between the lifting and your quads on Saturday. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your weigh in.
Take care hun
ciao bello

Day 80: Monday Evening (60 days remaining)

Weight has stayed the same despite the dreadful weekend! Had a slow start to the day, still not caught up on the sleep :( Didn't manage to rise intime for my morning Cardi, but jumped on the treadmill as soon as I got home for an hour at 7kph. A good sweat from that! I have had to put a fan in front of the treadmill now, as we are entering a hot summer over here :(

Food Intake:
Breakfast: one egg ommlete + 1 slice whole grain bread (no topping)
Morning Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Lunch: 5 crispbreads with onion, mayo and pepper
Afternoon Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Dinner: Planned: Tuna with a salad mix
Evening Snack: Planned: protein shake made with water

God today just flew by, not enough time to get everything done, so I'll make this a short entry.

Again JZ, I am in your debt! I guess I am to focussed on the weightloss to realise all the other positive effects this journey has imparted on me. You are quite correct and I cannot remember the last time I felt so in control of the direction my life is taking.

Thank you for reminding me of that!

Hey, I'm more than willing to smack ya around a little bit if you need it! That's one thing about this forum that is great... the fact that people you never met, that become your "online" buddies, are able and willing to help with accountability, and sometimes redirect your focus if your own vision becomes unclear!! Well in my case... I just do it for FUN!

Day 82: Tuesday night (58 days remaining)

Had a great day today. One of the schools I visit had not seen me in three weeks and 2 people mentioned the wonderful praise "Have you lost weight??"

It's a great feeling! It was also great to be able to open up my first box of stored clothes (from a slimmer time) and actually be able to fit some of them. I chose a new (old) pair of jeans and an old favourite jumper. Both looked great, but I really can't wait until I can do the big cull of my old fat clothes and hang up all the new stuff!!!!

Haven't had time for any work out tonight, but I will get a good cardio session in before bed.

Breakfast: One egg omlette + slice of mix grain bread (no topping)
Morning Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Lunch: Can of chilli tuna and Potato (small)
Afternoon Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Dinner (planned): 4 large mushrooms with onion/pepper/mayo topping
Evening Snack (planned): Protein shake + banana

Yeah, JZ's into the whole smackin' around thing. He thinks he can take me if he gets my shirt over my head...

Hey Paul. Aren't the complements inspiring? I love those four words..."have you lost weight". Keep up the great work!

Consistancy!!! You have it down!!

Day 85: Friday Evening (45 days remaining)

Life has been quite hectic lately hense the missing posts for wednesday and thursday, but I am back and on track again.

Great News!!! Weighed in at 225 pounds this morning, which is well past the halfway mark! 45 days left with 27 pounds remaining... not sure if I can manage this, but I'll be damned if that doesn't stop me trying!

I managed to get my cardio sessions in over the last two days, but my intensity levels were poor, just going through the motions :( I need to kick up a grear now I am on the final stretch!

My weekend in free of any commitments so I am going to make it my most active weekend in months. Down to the beach with the dogs for a 10k walk, then the Lawns followed by the treadmill and all my favourite TV shows recorded over the week!

Day 86: Saturday Night (54 days remaining)

Had a good Saturday. Managed to get in my Cardio on the treadmill and ate healthy the whole day, although my usual 6 meals reverted to 3 :( still all within my limits.

Went out to a 30th party in the evening and avoided alcohol the entire n ight!!! It helped that a friend had her son who is deaf there and I was needed to act as an interpreter. It's near impossible for me to sign when drunk as it requires some degree of co-ordination LOL

It is so nice to know that I can go out to parties now without the need to down lots of vodka.

Breakfast: Panini with egg filling
Morning Snack: skipped
Lunch: Tuna and 3 crispbreads
Afternoon Snack: skipped
Dinner: a small sausage roll, a ham and lettuce sandwich, boiled egg
Evening Snack: Missed due to dinner

Day 87: Sunday (53 days remaining)

Feeling a bit down at the moment. The not to sure why but it left me feeling lethargic and empty. Didn't get much work done today, nor any form of exersise. Eating was routene and within limits, but I did skip two meals.

Went to my weekly meeting and shared a lot about my mood of late, as well as my increasing short-fuse when dealing with stress the last couple of days. Felt good to get it off my chest, but still not quite right with myself.

Breakfast: Panini with egg
Morning Snack: skipped
Lunch: tuna and 3 crispbreads
Afternoon Snack: a palmful of mixed seeds/nuts (not really a meal)
Dinner: 10 Mushrooms grilled
Evening Snack: slice of whole-wheat bread with boiled egg

Off to bed now, still with an ominous feeling of dread(?) or something. Hopefully things will be better tommorrow.

Just a bump in the road Paul. Good eating and way to keep it from being a "bad" day. Get up and do it tomorrow!!

Hang in there, Paul--I partied enough for the both of us this weekend! (Although I didn't get drunk either--ewww and I don't like Vodka that much :p) I also just ran for 41 minutes on my lunch break when I felt too lazy to--but did it anyway. Take care! HUGS

I have noticed that I have been neglecting the weights sessions :( I am gutted that this has happened, but time has been tight. Will be doing an upper body session tommorrow! I Promise myself!

you may have missed out on some weight sessions, but your cardio rocks out loud.

Gotta get some weights in when you can though, don't want to fall back, you want to keep building up on the foundation you're laying.

sounds like your eating has been better than mine of late, but I'm good now.
