Stage 1: The long road to the New Year

In your omlett, you don't use oil..does that mean you don't use butter or oil in the pan at all? How do you keep the eggs from not sticking?! Everytime I've ever tried that, I ended up with a hugeeee mess. Even on nonstick pans! :(

Well, it's not an omlette in the traditional way. I mix up the egg/s with a drop of milk and then microwave for 60 seconds. I'm not a fussy person on taste (it's still nice), and the outcome is oil free ;)

Problem is that the bowl gets egg stuck to it if you don't wash it immediately lol

Hey there Paul, an hour and a half on the treadmil, huh? not too shabby. ;) definately more than I've ever done on one of those. :blush5: Good to see you're doing well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather stays nice for your beach trip.
Take care hun.

Hey Paul.. it's ok that you drank.. just don't do it again.. lol j/k... but look at it this way.. you could have messed up ur whole day.. and eating all horrible foods then finished it off with the vodka.. you were on track for most of it.. and it looks like you got right back on the boat the next day.. you didn't let one mistake from one day mess you up completely.. so good job! and btw I finally exercised.. lol

Paul, we all slip with something sometimes right? Every one of us has an achilles heel somewhere.

My biggest was cigarettes and It's over now. I have to work o my next one - food - a little harder.

it's just one step right, then another, then another...

BTW, I don't know how some of you do it. Absolutely could not spend 1 1/2 hours on a treadmill. Gregolso does that kind of time too on an elliptical... I'd be bored to tears.

Made a bit of time to catch up on recorded TV shows whilst doing a comfortable 1.5 hours on the treadmill.

Great idea Paul. I removed one of my couches from my family room and am doing the same thing. I walked the entire Ohio State vs Penn State football game on Saturday night!! 2 hours and 15 minutes!! Great minds think alike I guess! Actually, I got the idea from "Paula 5's" diary with talk of the treadmill desk. Looks like your kickin' butt... keep up the good work! :hurray:

Days 72 & 73 (67 days remaining)

Well, I went away for the public holiday weekend (sunday/monday). Had a great time but got very little exersise in other than walking from A to B. Unfortunately, meals went back to break/lunch/dinner and of larger potions than usual due to my absence of routene.

Thankfully, got back tonight and discovered my weight has remained the same. Gotta kick it in to full gear this week in order to make up for lost time ;)

Yeah, I don't mind the walk/jog if there's something to distract me ;) How does a desk treadmill work? Does she write as she's running?

Day 75: Tenacious Tuesday (65 days remaining)

I guess i lost day 74 somewhere LOL

I had a really good "on track" day today and managed to get loads done at work. Ate well, although I missed out on lunch again :(

Got home at 4pm and straight on the treadmill with my ipod for 50 minutes. I hiked it up to 8.5kph and managed a steady jog for 90% of the time. I found that full bore music (rather than tv) was a lot more motivating and kept me going! Best cardio yet, but still only an 8.5 in intensity. I can definately push it harder!!!

Straight off the treadmill and into an hour upper body workout. The weights seem to bit a bit easier than 2 weeks ago. Managed a great session (an 8 intensity) and now soaked in sweat!

Bench Press (5 sets) - Awesome. Managed to stay focussed for all 5 sets without weakening.
Standing Barbell Press (2 sets) - No sholder click this time. Perhaps cartalige or something?
One arm dumbell Rows (2 sets each side) -starting to get used to these.
Bench Dips (6 sets) - Great feeling after these!
Dumbell curls (6 sets) - Still my favourite. Could barely make the last set. Arms feeling tingly and well worked!

JZ's Wall Sit Challenge - Decided (after comment from Jz to do these as part of my LB workout once a week)
Cruches: - x100 (Now a daily addition to my cardio)

Great session! Back in the saddle and making up for lost time!

Food Intake:
Breakfast: one egg ommlete + 1 slice whole grain bread (no topping)
Morning Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Lunch: skipped :(
Afternoon Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Dinner: Planned: Steamed mushrooms and mixed veges
Evening Snack: Planned: protein shake made with water

Right, time to make dinner and check out some of the other threads before taking an early night ;)

Day 77: Thursday Evening (63 days remaining)

Been pretty busy the last two days. Work is reallly sucking up all my time :( Got home really late last night and didn't have time for a Wednesday entry. It was a good day and ate well, so I'll skip the writeup and get on with todays...

Lower body Workout:
Dumbell Lunges: 5 sets
Standing calf raises: 5 sets - much better weight this time!
Crunches: 5 x 30
Twist crunches: 2 x 25

JZ's Wall Sit Challenge - 8 minutes exactly! God my legs are sore!!!!

Was quite tired and lacked the 8 intensity, more like a 6. I need to get more sleep!!!!

Food Intake:
Breakfast: one egg ommlete + 1 slice whole grain bread (no topping)
Morning Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Lunch: Salad mix + vinigerette dressing
Afternoon Snack: 3 crispbreads + tuna
Dinner: Planned: grilled fish and salad sandwich
Evening Snack: Planned: protein shake made with water

On a positive note, I looked at myself in the mirror after my shower and was pleseantly supprised by the guy staring back at me. I can already see the effects of the weight-loss in my face and (thank god) belly and man boobs. They are still there, but they are fast on their way out! Also some of my shirts now feel like tents so tonight I do a wee cull on the wardrobe. How exciting!

Hey paul... I fixed your post for you(see above in bold print)... no worries... you're welcome!!! :D

Just wanted to swing by and say hi :) I never know what to say here usually though because I'm at such a different stage, lol. Your exercise routine is inspiring...and intimidating. The most I've ever stuck with long term is daily cardio...I've never set out any strength or weight training and stuck to it. When I get ready for that next step though I have examples now and places I can ask for advice :)

Sorry work sucks--and yes, by all means, sleep is very very important. I'm vowing to get more than 6 and a half, 7 hours next week--

Glad your moobs are disintegrating! YAY!

Again JZ, I am in your debt! I guess I am to focussed on the weightloss to realise all the other positive effects this journey has imparted on me. You are quite correct and I cannot remember the last time I felt so in control of the direction my life is taking.

Thank you for reminding me of that!

Lisa, you have said just the right thing ;) Thank you

My exercise routene is not easy when you are in my shape LOL It kills me each time to do, and I am by no means streamlined. Often the walking and jogging actually hurts my flabby parts LOL

2 months ago I could not have seen myself doing this sort of routene, but I look at Karls Journal and see that in mere months he has doubled the weights he uses. I suppose the secret is to start really small and just slowly increase what you do? I truely believe you would be able to undertake some weights, and from what I hear; weights training can use more callories than cardio (correct me if I am wrong you experts LOL)
