I hear ya! :dupe:

I was hopin' they would win of course, but also hopin' if they were not gonna win, it wouldn't be by them gettin' stomped. :toetap05:

POO! :banghead:

*********

I'm so excited bc I finally got all the dog-gone C-Mas Cards filled out. lol

I'm so late this year! Every year I have them dropped in the mail by the 2nd of Dec. :biggrinjester: oops! ;)

I'm fixin' ta take some Nyquil and I hope it knocks me out. Hubby of course is still sick and already in bed.

I don't guess I ever got out of my rut bc my eating has not been enough and I have not exercised in a couple of days. *sigh*

I'm just in this strange funk..

I have felt like this for a long time now, and I'm ready for it to end! :willy_nilly:

I'm hoping since tomorrow I will finish all the cleaning and then Tuesday starts the Official C-Mas Shopping, it will perk me up and get me back to normal.

I really love the cold weather - all the lights - the smells - the music - just everything Christmas brings.

Maybe I have cabin fever? I have only been out here and there to pick up grocery items/run errands/ and to mainly get Cory from school!

Shopping may be just the thing!

I'm such a happy/cheerful giver. I LOVE to shop for others and bring them joy.
I take care to pick out just the right thing and have been known to spend hours looking for it..lol

This may just be the pep I need.
I may not even get crunk with the crowds! :D

Gawd, I really need a GF/GF's...

I just don't understand why it's so hard to meet new people?

My hubby is a hermit man, so that does not help!

He doesn't even take me out any longer.

He's so tired when he finally gets time off work, but it sure would be nice for him to just say -
Hey, lets go grab a bite to eat and catch a movie.
I used to make it happen, but that got old bc I felt like I was forcing him.

I don't say anything any longer bc I'm tired of always bein' the one to try and get us to go out.

I may just start a new thing by myself and just go out alone once a month.

I can take myself to eat/movies and maybe he'll decide to join me one day.

This has turned into a mini vent, but I guess it needed to come out.

I have been so stressed out lately and was hoping hubby would want to get me out and us both relax.

I'm so sick of bein' home all the damn time!

Whelp, I am going to put an end to it and find something for me to do at least once a month.

Y'all name off a few good ideas of things that you can do alone?

I need ideas. :hug2:

Hi-ya Stac!
You just gotta hate those Pats!!!!
They beat my team too. Colts.
I was trying to think of some things that you could do that would get you outta the house but not have anything to do with eating.
So here are a few ideas:
1. Visit the library....(we have a brand new one that is gorgeous and it is wonderful to grab up a favorite magazine and just sit and browse thru it without a care in the world.)
2. Check out (if you have one nearby) the Botanical Gardens. I know lots of people who actually pack lunches and head there for the peace and quiet.
3. Have you thought of voluntering at a nursing home. Lots of times the residents don't have family who can come to visit. And all they really want is someone to chat with. Someone to show them that they still matter.
Well those are just some of the ideas I came up with.
Idea #3 is my particular favorite cuz' I really love old people. They have so much knowledge and love to be loved. It really does something for my heart to touch theirs.
As far as hubby never taking you out...........do you tell him you want to go out? He may just assume that you are fine staying in. Give the boy a clue LOL.
Anyways hope that your day is going well and that you make it outta your funk.
Get some sleep!

:) Hi ya Steve, thanks. ;)

Bell: Thanks doll 4 your help!

I have done #3 before but stopped. I'm such a super sensitive gal and very emotional. I'm the type that wears my heart on my sleeve.
That was actually hard for me bc I got attached to everyone like if they were my gandparents. When a few of them passed on it tore me up.
I would love to do that again, but have to think about it.
I'm just so emotional..lol

Thanks for the ideas, I haven't been to the library 4-ever!
I mostly hang out at Half Priced Books when it comes to books. ;)

Monday Happenings:

Whelp, now Cory is home sick..

Boy, I have my hands full! - lol -

I'm hoping dinner just didn't set well w/him and he'll feel better soon.
{he's been throwing up}

Hope he doesn't have a virus or something.

I've been drinking airborne again..lol..

I'm hoping this week will go better w/food/exercise.

I'm gonna try! :)

RE Hubby:

Yep, I talked to him several times - brought up going out - so on.

He always said he didn't feel like it and he was too tired.

I got sick of bringing it up and bein' told no, so I just stopped.

Maybe he doesn't want to be seen with me? Who knows?

I sure don't.

Have A Great Monday Everyone.

:hug2:

Hey don't be so hard on yourself.
I am sure that you would be a wonderful person to go and hang out with!
I fall into that trap myself as soooo many people are too scared to hang out with the minister's wife for fear they may "slipup" and I would judge them.
Like I am not human and don't just want to cut loose myself!!!! LOL
Hurts to not have people to just call up and say "hey lets go........"
Sorry you gotta deal with it too.
Just don't be so hard on yourself.
Cuz' if your 1/2 as witty in real life, not cyberville, then you would be an absolute trip!
I'd hang with ya! :seeya:

Thanks so much sweetie. :hug2:

I am a ton of fun to be with/hang out with. :sifone:

That's why it makes me so sad hubby just doesn't want to.

We used to have date night, and we also used to just decide: hey, let's go do this and that.

That stopped when we were really broke bc hubby's job slowed down and he wasn't gettin' a lot of hours.

Once the co. got taken over by a new big-wig, his hours got back to normal and we got on our feet.

I mentioned we needed to get back to what we were doing which leads to what has already been stated now..{where I gave up}

Y'all feel free to list as many ideas as possble bc I'm going to start this after C-MAS!

Thanks again Bell. :seeya:

Join a sports league or two. Co-ed softball, or kickball, or something light and fun like that... If nothing else, he'll be itching to come and join, if he doesn't outright join when you join up. Every girl that I had on my team always was like "well... my boyfriend said he could play tonight if we need someone"...

It's a great thing!

I agree with Bella--you're too hard on yourself. Hubby probably is tired--I'm sure it has nothing to do with your looks, silly girl.

This is something I love to do--go to a big bookstore like Barnes & Noble or Borders--one that has a cafe. I could spend all day browsing in one--and they have comfy chairs to sit in. Then you could get a decaf from the cafe. I dropped H off there once while I was out doing things he didn't wanna do. When I came back to get him 8hrs later he said to me, "Oh, you're back already?" He was serious. lol Yeah, we are both bookworms.

I agree with Bella on the volunteer thing. If a nursing home is too sad for you, how about the local humane society? Or what about a soup kitchen? There are all kinds of volunteer oppourtunities out there that will not only get you out of the house, but you will meet new people and maybe make friends. And you'll get that happy feeling inside of knowing you've helped someone out. :)

Or you could just go to a coffee shop, bring a book or magazine. Kinda on the lines of the bookstore, but maybe a bit cheaper. :D

Oh, another thing--what about Cory's school? I'm sure the teachers are always looking for parents to help out with field trips and other things. Is that a possibility? You could run into other moms and make friends.

Sorry to hear you have two sick guys on your hands. Well, that'll keep ya busy. I'm sure you'll pull out of this funk soon. As far as the exercise goes, tell yourself it's mandatory--not optional. That's what I do.

Yeah, tell me about the football misery. The Lions led the Cowgirls the whole game--up until the last 18 seconds when they scored a TD and won the game. Talk about depressing!! :ack2:

Thanks James :hug2:

Thanks Kimberly. :hug2:

I love book stores to.. Too bad our Borders doesn't have a cafe', that sounds great!

I'm so glad I accomplished everything! It's such a weight off of me!
Especially w/2 people sick now. I felt like it was germ city here.
Not no more! What ever was around is DEAD! :D
My hands are plum raw from them bein' in water all day.
Gotta put my Moisture Ther. Cream on them before bed! {Avon}

Laundry was completed to.

I cannot wait to spend the whole day out tomorrow!
I really need it and I'm super excited.
I'll be a C-Mas shoppin' fool. ;)

I can't wait to get to Petco and pick out stuff for ZuZu's stocking. lol
{Yes, my lil girls stocking is hanging right next to mine.} :p

I'm actually sleepy and heading off for bed.

Poor Cory started throwing up at 5AM and didn't stop until after 6PM!!!
Of course after the first few times it was just heaving after that.
He 4 sure has a virus/bug..I called the school and let them know he'll also miss tomorrow.

Finally at 7:30PM he kept a glass of water down and then I made him a small amount of oatmeal and he kept that down. Thank gosh!

He had a few more sips of water and was passed out at 8:30PM!

Poor sweet guy! He was plum pooped.

With all that plus cleaning, I'm plum pooped!

Hubby and son will have to take care of each other while I'm gone.

It'll be hubby's last night off as well.

I talk to y'all once I get back..

I'm sure I'll have a ton of stories, and I'll try not to get crunk. ;)

:seeya:

Hi Stacy

I think that you both will enjoy ROCK BAND as much as Cory. It should mean that you have a great Christmas in your house.

I am sorry that you now have two sick boys on your hands.

As far as meeting people goes - are there any old friends that you could try to renew acquaintance with? I have lost touch with many old friends over the years - not because we fell out - just everyone hits a spell when they lead busy lives. Many people move away - etc. Is it worth checking out websites like friends reunited or facebook to see who you find? It is the perfect time of year to get in touch and / or send them a christmas card. Even if they have moved away they may be visiting relatives in the area over christmas.

I only heard about my school reunion because of friends reunited, and I am definitely staying in touch with some people from that. Had I not lost weight this year I would not have gone - but at this size there were quite a few people heavier than or the same as me! The fact is that I would guess one girl was not too far short of my start weight. You are quite a bit slimmer than me now if you check your BMI so dont feel self-conscious about size or anything. The fact is that no-one stays 18 for ever.

I have heard from quite a few distant relatives and not so distant ones too through genes reunited. We can all put up a basic tree on there for no cost. Even if not interested in family history we can throw together names of parents, grandparents and maybe an extra generation if you ask someone. Stick in siblings that you know and see if you get any matches.

I had so many older cousins that I had never met (family bred like rabbits) that I have heard from adult children and adult grandchildren of cousins. We have met up with some. You only need pay anything if you want to get in touch with someone else - not for them to get in touch with you and you reply. The cost is pretty minimal anyway if you want to get in touch.

I think that I have mentioned to you that I have this long term idea of joining weight watchers as I approach my goal weight. Not to follow their diet or anything - but as an aid to maintenance. If you join and get to your goal weight - you can go to their meetings for free while you stay within I think 5 pounds of it. I know someone who is at goal but still goes every week. She enjoys seeing people there and she has to get weighed so it keeps her aware of her weight. If you time it right it could be a pretty cost-effective way of meeting new people. It has quite a few positives including moving area with you if you move house and helping you stay weight-aware.

Some people make a lot of friends through churches. My parents for instance have outlived all their original and old friends - yet still have a very wide circle of friends. The reason for this is that they are regular church-goers. It isnt just for old people. Whilst it would not suit everyone - churches do tend to provide a meeting place within the community and they do tend to have inexpensive local social events.

I agree with Kimberly about telling yourself that the exercise is mandatory. It is amazing what I can force myself to do when I think "if I dont go out I will be back at 21 stone".

I hope that you enjoy your shopping trip.

Take care
Love
Margaret

That works if you're athletically inclined...lol. Me, I'm hopelessly uncoordinated and suck at sports. I was always one of the last people picked to be on gym teams in school, if ya know what I mean. And I'm emotionally scarred for life b/c of it. ha! I'm only good at indoor sports. ;) But I think Stacy used to play some sports, so that could work for her. :D

I hope you had a fun time shopping today. And don't forget--it's almost TLD!!! :drool5:

Margaret: Thanks sweetie for your ideas/tips/support! :hug2: Means so much.
I won't be able to do the WW thing though bc they are so over-priced..{It's not a free service}

I'm going to call the YMCA tomorrow and I hope they are cheap!
I have called all the health clubs near me and they are such a rip off!
Too expenisve + contracts.

James: Thanks sweetie for bein' so helpful, but I cannot play sports bc of my RA and badly screwed up spinal cord. {my vertabras have lost most of their cusion/fluid now.} I have RA in 100% of my joints.
Long story short: A dr. did not treat me for strep throat as a kid{age 11/12} and all of the sickness settled in my joints. I had Rhumatic fever and almost died.
I was also crippled and had to go to Scottish Rite Hospital for rehab until I was 18.

Before this happened, I was on the track team and I loved to run!
I also played soft ball and was pretty darn good.

The other thing I'm excellent at and love is swimming! {That's awesome for RA as well!}
I hope I can afford the Y!
That way I don't have to wait for summer to swim!

Kimberly: LOL! I'm ready! :waving:

I had a wonderful day out..

Felt so good, plus I got 97% of the shopping done!

Only a few things left I need that they were out of today.

I went to the PO to mail C-Mas Cards - 2 Target's - Petco - and Half Priced Books. {Lots of walking!}

I also ate lunch at the Golden Corral. {country buffet}
Let's just say this ended up bein' a "cheat day." lol :p

Breakfast/Snack was on track.. I didn't eat dinner bc I was still so full! <giggles>
I really don't think I did much damage bc I didn't eat dinner and had my big meal at lunch. Plus all the walking.

I really needed this break and I hope it helps me break out of my rut!

Cory is well enough for school tomorrow so I will be a wrapping fool so I can get it done before he gets home.

Hubby goes back to work..I'm sorry to sound like a total bitch, but I'm kinda glad.
All we did was fuss at each other. I think bc since he's sick, he took his crabbiness out on me..That don't fly w/me so boy did he find out that I will not be talked to/treated that way!
He got an ear full.
I mean good grief..When I'm sick I have to get up early so he can go to bed for work, run the house, take care of him - Cory - ZuZu, cook, clean, pick Cory up from school, help w/homework, grocery shop, etc!!!
I have been lil Ms. Nurse and doing everything for him and he has mostly just slept and laid around. SO, how dare him snap/snip at me everyday!
I haven't even been told thank you.

So not like us to be like this..??
I wonder if he is a lil jealous of my weight-loss?
Who knows?!

I'm soooo pooped, and headed 4 bed. lol

Nite-Nite :hug2:

I'm going to call the YMCA tomorrow and I hope they are cheap!
I found that most YMCA's (there are a few that are waaaaay overpriced) are fairly reasonable. And if Cory or hubby are not inclined to go then the single rate should be decent.

I cannot play sports bc of my RA and badly screwed up spinal cord.
I am sorry to hear that you have to go thru/did go thru all this. It must make life difficult at times. I can only imagine what you must go thru. :grouphug:
The other thing I'm excellent at and love is swimming! {That's awesome for RA as well!}
I hope I can afford the Y!
That way I don't have to wait for summer to swim!
You know when I started going to the Y with-in a week I had someone approach me about being a swimming instructor for kids. It only takes 1 hour a week (two 1/2 sessions on 2 different days) and I get paid for it and I get my membership free. Plus any classes I wanted to take are free as well.
Could be you could look into this. That way you would get to swim, get paid and get your membership. Just a thought.

I had a wonderful day out..

Felt so good, plus I got 97% of the shopping done!
Sounds like you had fun!
Only a few things left I need that they were out of today.
I still have everything to buy! Since we won't be here for Christmas (visiting family in NYC) I haven't bought a single thing!

I also ate lunch at the Golden Corral. {country buffet}
Let's just say this ended up bein' a "cheat day." lol :p
I love the Golden Corral!!! Though I don't think it would be a good idea for me to go there now. *giggle* I would most definately have a cheat day too! And here lately with all the Christmas dinners that I have gone to I have done enough cheating!

I really needed this break and I hope it helps me break out of my rut!
Sounds like it will!

Cory is well enough for school tomorrow so I will be a wrapping fool so I can get it done before he gets home.
Glad Cory is feeling better.

Hubby goes back to work..I'm sorry to sound like a total bitch, but I'm kinda glad.

I haven't even been told thank you.
That is so like my hubby!
Once when I was sick with the flu I asked him to bring me some juice and he tossed the jug at me saying he didn't want to catch what I had. I was sooo mad. Couple days later when he was sick *hahaha he caught it anyways, and he asked me for some juice.......yeah you guessed it I threw the jug at him. He was so sad and hurt that I didn't want to wait on him hand and foot. I told him that what goes around comes around and next time he better baby me if he wanted babied himself!

So not like us to be like this..??
I wonder if he is a lil jealous of my weight-loss?
Who knows?!
Could be, my dh gets grumpy when I start losing weight.
I'm soooo pooped, and headed 4 bed. lol

Nite-Nite :hug2:[/FONT]

Hope you got some good sleep heaven knows you needed it!!! LOL

Thanks so much sweet Bell!

Wouldn't that be awesome if I could do what you are at the Y?
You never know?! lol

I know my son would want to come and work-out + swim!

He takes after me..We are both fish. ;)

Hubby is the party pooper and doesn't really like the water.

That will never stop Cory and I! We live at the pool and Surf 'N Swim all summer!

:hug2: Thanks again Bell.

H Y'all..

Today I'll be wrapping all the gifts and gettin' them under the tree.
I'll also clean out fridge/freeze/pantry and clip coupons so I can make out the Super*Target grocery list.

Sheewww, it'll be a big one! Gotta add all the C-Mas stuff on their I'll be making. My sissy Steph is gonna split the cost with hubby and I since mom and dad are so broke. That's so helpful! :)

I'll be going in a day or two..

Have A Great Wed. Everyone! :hug2:

*Can you believe C-Mas Eve is in 12 days??!!!*

Hi Stacy

I think the key thing about the WW thing is to time it right. Basically here the cost of it is split into two bits. You pay so much to join up - then you pay so much per weekly meeting.

Now they do promotions every few months (normally one just after christmas, others dotted around the year) where you do not have to pay the joining up fee. I would only consider on joining on one of those promotions.

Then the thing is that you do not want to pay the weekly meeting fee for too many weeks so I wouldnt dream on joining the promotion that I expect that they will start advertising in 2 to 3 weeks. I still have far too much weight to lose.

There are plenty of people who suddenly decide to diet when they have a huge 10 pounds to lose. My intention is to go along and be one of those people in WW eyes. Agree a goal weight and then get there asap.

I know that it is not a free service but I dont plan on giving them that much money at all.

Take care
Love
Margaret

whoa, so sorry 'bout that darlin...

Weather Report:

We just now started gettin' heavy sleet!

Thank goodness it's 37* and above freezing!

If it wasn't, I'd have to wake hubby up to go get Cory bc I do not know how to drive on ice!

We also have a very chilly wind.

Pretty dern cold in Texas and I LOVE it!

Still kinda scary to drive though.

I leave in 25 mins. to get Cory from school.

Glad you got all the shopping done and enjoyed your day. :biggrinjester:

What is it with men expecting to be babied when they're sick, but unwilling to baby us in return. :toetap05: I have to give my H some credit b/c he is good at bringing me things like tea and coffee, etc.

And what is it with men getting annoyed with their wives when they lose weight? I mean, I'd think they'd be happpy with the new and improved you. Unless they're heavy and worried you're gonna ditch them for a guy in better shape. My H couldn't be happier about my weight loss. But he isn't overweight, so that could be part of it.

Glad you finally got your "cold" weather. It is currently in the teens here. :biggrinjester:
