heya darlin

good to see you feeling better!

I don't think anyone really likes cleaning for a job, lol- I personally have a hard enough time keeping my bedroom tidy, at least with roommates, I can get mad if the kitchen or bathroom is dirty... lol
do DH and your son have chores? that's one good thing about not living at home anymore- every wonderful saturday morning, I'd have to wake up to 2 1/2 hours of chores, cleaning the house with my brothers. I still have to clean the kitchen after dinner when i'm there, but that's expected lol...

have a great day today!

My hubby tries to keep the kitchen up, but with his 12 hour shifts, he's pretty dern pooped.

He does clean his and Cory's Bathroom through. (I'm a pretty-pretty Princess and will not step foot in the "manly bathroom." YUCK! :D

I have my own beautiful bathroom and they are not allowed to step foot in it..*TeeHee* ;)

Cory Chores:

Once home from school:

Take out all trash - Unload/Load Dishwasher - Pick Up Room - (after I have scrub cleaned, he has to feather dust his room everyday...He has a ton of electronics in his room so this is a must) - Make Bed Neatly - Fold/Hang his own laundry.

Something we are fixin' ta start this weekend is: I'm gonna teach him how to do laundry.

Once I know he has it down and won't mess any of his school-clothes and other things up, he'll be responsible for that as well.

Next weekend I'll take him to the laundry mat for his laundry so I can show him how to tackle that.

That is very important I think bc of bein' on his own one day/college/etc..

After that project has been completed - next will be teachin' him how to chop up stuff safely/cook..

He has always had an interest with cooking so he'll love this..

I have taught him many basics already, but now we're talkin' full meals. :)

Hi Stacy

Good luck at the scales.

It sounds like your recovery has gone well. I am pleased.

You are wise to get Cory into the swing of what he needs to do to look after himself. Lots of kids are encouraged by parents to keep their heads in the schoolbooks - but they have no idea of how to do the really important things that need to be done.

Some girl will thank you for giving him such a broad education eventually.

Well done on the parenting.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks! :) I'm doing my best..

Both my parents have massive OCD and they could always be quite hateful.

I was never allowed to cook or partake in preparing dinner.
(Couldn't get things out of place of heaven forbid make a mess)

I learned everything from my beautiful and ever so loving Nannie. {Dad's Mom.}

I learned how to think on my feet and become creative in the kitchen.

I swear if FoodNetwork would have been around back then, she would have had a show! LOL

OooO she's plum crazy in a funny/youthful way. ;)

She's full blooded Czechoslovakian as well and believes strongly in cooking with love and havin' foods show your love for the family with whatever you're makin'..

Very much like the Italian spirit re: food/cooking.

My PawPaw, her hubby - God rest his soul- was Irish..

My mom's side of the family is a mixture of Italians and Indians.

Soooooo....My family is all about food...LMBO! :D

WOW, I need to get on the ball, I would be lucky if my sons dust their room once every 6 months. LOL LOL

They Vacuum their room once a week, and do their own laundry, oh and when I ask them to take out the trash or other items like that, then they do it. During the summer they mow, I should have been more harsh I guess, **BAD KIM*** :smash:

My H's first wife had OCD, he said it is extremely hard to deal with, WOW KUDOS to you and your family for being so strong!

Have a great weekend, hope the next weigh in is a good one!!
Sneeker Poo

LOL Val! :D It's true!

Kim:

OCD is very hard to deal with..

I always keep in mind how I felt as a kid and try SUPER HARD not to act that way w/hubby and son..I'm not perfect and sometimes I will catch myself nagging or doing something stupid like my parents did with me, but I always catch it and say I'm sorry for bein' a freak.

I never will forget one time when I was about 7 and my mom had me in this stupid ruffle dress I hated.(I was a tom boy and just wanted to dress normal)
Anyway, My Nannie was sitting me and I was out back makin' mudpies and got my dress all messed up..

Once I saw what I had done I started screaming and Nannie ran outside cause she thought I was dead or something..lol

I told her she had ta help me! Nannie ripped my clothes off and put me in a T-Shirt and washed my clothes.

I didn't know until I was older Nannie scolded my mother until she was teary eyed for makin' me feel like that.
I was always full of fear as a child.

I had no childhood.

I was grounded forever for the most stupidest things.

I left my coat on a chair in living room and was grounded for 3 weeks from everything!

I couldn't even watch t.v. with the family in living room.

Crap like that...

My only wonderful and peaceful memories are all the summers spent in the country w/Nannie & PawPaw.

Nannie is still my rock and I love her so much - she'll never understand just how much.

Wow.......

Guess some of that junk needed out..Sorry guys to spill such depressing stuff...It just kinda came out...lol

Soooooo....My family is all about food...LMBO! :D

Girl... my family's the same way. Food brings everyone together. Also, it gives me the opportunity to show WHY I'm the best daughter. (I'm like an Asian Paula Dean/ Emeril Lagasse..HAHA! jk)

So you were sick also, eh? Drink lots of liquids and take a Vitamin C supplement or eat lots of fruits with Vitamin C. I'm nursing Sean on this end too. He caught a wicked cold, so lucky me, I get to hear his ass whine. Missed ya, Crunkalicious.

Hey Sugar Lips, I'm glad you're feeling better. :hug2:

As to the cleaning, most people who live like pigs are too poor to hire someone to clean for them. It's the rich folks who can afford it, and their houses are generally pretty clean. I know this b/c I used to do some housecleaning. It's good money. I charged $15-20 an hour. The average house takes about 4 hrs to clean (b/c they're usually pretty large), so that's $60-80 per house. Clean 4 of them a week, and you've made $240-320 a week. Not bad for 16hrs work.

I agree that Cory's future wife will appreciate your teaching him how to do things for himself. I think it's great that you make him do chores. Too many parents these days think their kids shouldn't have to do anything to help around the house.:cheers2:

OooO Sheryl, I LOVE Crunkalicious!! :D *TeeHee*

That made my night!

Much nicer than Crunk-Thug-Bitch Val named me!
(Val... :p )

Feels good to be the best huh? Then....It gets ya in trouble..lol

I just had ta show off I could make awesome southern cornbread dressing one year and then Nannie informed me since it tasted just like hers/maybe even better, QUOTE: I'm too old for this shit and PawPaw is gone and it's not the same bc he was my taste tester. You now have the job.

 I just had ta show off. :D

lol...I've been makin' it for 3 years now..

It can be a pain at times to be so good, right? ;)

I do enjoy most of the requests though and I feel like I have a special place in everyones hearts for the things they love. :)

One thing my mom is already begging for (bc I make them every fall) is my chocolate mocha - mocha glazed cupcakes.

LORD HELP ME!! I don't think I'm strong enough yet to make those..

:D

My gosh, I've been known to put away 5-6 in one day.. :blush5:

Hope Sean gets well super fast!

Kimberly:

Thanks so much!

Yep..We want Cory to be responsible and to be able to "think for himself/problem solve."

Most of the family think we are too harsh--I say: None of yer beezwax!

They think we're mean for makin' him save for a car.. Oh well...

They didn't go through 16 hours of labor and almost die giving birth so they can shut-up! HA!

:D

He will save half and we will pay the other half.

He will have to gas it up or he'll be stuck home.

He will have to pay ins. and upkeep or it can stay parked.

It's up to him to make the correct choices.

If we do everything for him and baby him, he'll grow up to be a moron.

We don't want that.

lol

There are so many morons running around out there that just didn't get good parenting!

Weigh In Day:

Was: 175.0 - I'm now: 173.5

:banghead:

I was wanting to see 173.0 or any # in 172

Oh well...The problem is exercise..I need more of it If I want to see the 60's..

DANG! I want to join 24 hr. fitness and I also want an exercise bike!

Bein' broke sucks!

*****

I won't let this spoil my day...:seeya:

It's beautiful here again today...

Once I get laundry done/put away, I'll be heading to my parents for a short visit. lol ;)

May end up bein' longer if everyone is in a good mood.

Takin' ZuZu as well. She will have a blast in their huge backyard!

They have a good fence so she loves going when the weather cools down.

No leash..She loves running free. :D

She only gets ta come in the spring/fall/light winter days (not too cold of course.)

I'm gonna review my menus in diary bc if I recall, I was eatin' a lot of tuna fish when I lost the 1.5 lbs..

Gonna check things out to see what I may need to repeat - along with MORE exercise.

I have just got to get w/it! I'm sick to death of the 70's!

**Have A Goal Reachin' Day Everyone!** :waving:

You said it, sister!! I wish more parents were like you and your hubby. :)

You don't have to be wealthy to lose weight. I think your walking, pilates, etc is just fine. If you want to step up your cardio, try doing some interval training on your walks. This is where you do short bursts of intensity. Like spend a min jogging or running, then slow down to your normal pace until you recover. Then repeat. I dropped a ton of weight in the early summer doing that.

Hope you have a good time at your parents' house this afternoon. I'm watching Wisconsin kick Michigan's ass. :(

:beating: Thanks Sweetie!

*******

Hey, that's a great idea.. That won't be too rough on RA either since it's just in bursts.

Anything else I can do that you can think of while walkin'?

I need to make the Circuit Training a major part of my routine..

I need to do DA more as well...(I love it but it's hard bc someone is always up my butt..)

LMBO! :D

OMG STACY!!! your parents sound just like mine!! except... i'm the only girl, and i'm the oldest, so I got it way easier than my brothers... lol. they're always getting into trouble, and getting grounded, and sometimes even for the stupidest reasons... my mom doesn't trust them with the washer and dryer, or the kitchen- so they never cook or do their own laundry. it's cool for my youngest brother cause he's only ten, but my other bro is 15, and he's so sheltered compared to me when i was his age. oh well, when i'm there, i get my brothers to cook with me- they dont mind, they love cooking! And our van is nicknamed "precious" and my mom's only let me drive it once, so I'm fairly certain it'll be teaching my brothers how to drive- once i get my own car, lol.

have a great weekend!!

:seeya: Thanks Kimberly!

LOL Star. ;)

I'm the oldest as well.. Steph is 25 - Bubba (Jimmy) is 21 - and my lil MaeMae (Chrisy) is 19.

If anyone is wondering..I'm not misspelling her name...
My dad is a Horrible speller and when mom gave birth and was bein' wheeled to her room, the nurse asked dad what her name would be. Dad said, Chrisy and spelled it like that! The dumb nurse should have asked him if he was aware of the incorrect spelling!
Too funny!
Poor MaeMae. :D

They had it made...They have never been strict w/them...The main reason though is bc of all of their health problems.

Whelp, the last load of laundry is about to come out of dryer..

I'll be heading out to parents house in a few.

Once home and hubby is off ta work/dinner is made/ I'll be doin' pilates and have a short walk.

I'm so sorry, that was a headtrip and a half! This may sound melodramatic, or it might offend people, but I think that treatment like that is sort of like terrorizing someone. My mom is an alchy but when she was hung over she was a clean freak and would SCREAM at me when she got fed up. WHat is the feeling you get when someone is mad at you for something unwarrented? You tighten up; you feel your heart in your throat; your blood runs cold with dread. No WONDER people get panic attacks. On top of the siblings' conditions....well, I'm glad you're very introspective. I feel for you sweetie!
