Update:

At least I have some answers now as to why I'm havin' such a hard time w/weight-loss...It's a relief to know I'm not crazy or lazy..

My lack of energy and not feeling well is coming from Adenomyosis.

I'm in need of a hysterectomy. :ack2:

Bad News: bc of freakin' ins. this will not be able to happen until Jan!! :cuss:

My hormones are all out of wack and this also explains my horrible pain and other issues with my periods. (RE: Adenomyosis)

Doc said with all these things stacked against me - of course weight-loss is going to be difficult.

Once I'm able to have the hysterectomy, the doc said I will be shocked at how quickly I'll feel better, have more energy, be happier, and that weight-loss will be much, much eaiser.

It really pisses me off though that I have to wait 8 mo!!!!
150% SUCKS!
I want to feel better now..I want to have success w/weight-loss NOW!

I will just do my best until then of course, but I know it will be difficult.
At least now I know what the deal is and won't feel like such a flake/failure.

It's tom now and I'm just miserable.. :flame: :ack2:

I've been in bed for 2 days.

Should be gone by Friday I HOPE!

Anyway...

That's what's going on w/me.

:seeya:

Hello huney :). Did you know how many WL problems you can run into once the ovaries come out? I would get at least THREE opinions before I would ever have my organs removed. Doctors are QUICK to remove our uteruses and ovaries, as if they are of no more use once we're finished having babies. But they ARE SO important to our well being. Any alternative or other treatments you could try first, in the meantime? Hope you're well otherwise.

I'm a big researcher Cita, so I'm reading up.. :)

It's kind of a toss up w/women I guess..?

I know ppl that are doing soooo much better after the surgery and then those that have lots of issues after.

At least within my own family history women that have had it done are doing gr8.

With me it will probably be the best thing bc cancer runs rampid on boths sides of my family..

I also qualify for this bc of tons of scar tissue.. (son and I almost died during labor and delivery....There were many things that went wrong and I was so torn up inside. The quack dr. really did a number on me) This causes a higher risk for cancer and tumors.

Thank you so much for sharing and checking in w/me sweetie.

:hug2:

Hi Stacy

I am sorry to hear that you have told that you need this operation and also that you have to wait so long.

It is great to know that there are medical reasons behind your issues though and you have something that you can really get your teeth into researching to work out what is best for you.

Claudia is right in that our ovaries are so central to how our hormones work that it is well worth looking at this from every angle - not least because it would be really great if things could improve for you sooner than the eight months that you are currently looking at.

I have long thought it unusual that your periods are quite so heavy - is this connected?

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thank you Margaret. :hug2:

The doc said they "may" be able to leave my ovaries..

Yes, my heavy/long cycles are caused by this... I always thought that it wasn't normal. Along with the first few days always putting me in bed due to the extreme pain. It is also crazy that I feel so run down and 100% depleted during my whole cycle.

How are u feeling?

:seeya:

I really feel better than I have a right to feel this soon after surgery. I do have to make sure that I dont bend, stretch, lift anything or do anything energetic (so no carrying shopping for me or doing exercise classes) but I can walk again so am ok.

Take my advice and take Zu-zu on plenty walks between now and when you have surgery. The hospital said that my walking had made me really healthy for it. My blood pressure was fine throughout. It was so good that I had got fit.

I always thought that your periods were to cruel for words so am not surprised that something is wrong that needs attention there. Hopefully the treatment will sort you out. If you lose that much blood - no wonder you feel run down. You are probably permanently anaemic.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Awwww Stacey~
You poor thing. I can totally relate. Up until last November I had nothing but problems with my cycles. I could easily go thru an entire box of super tampons in one night of work. Plus an entire package of pads as back ups for all the tampons every month. Add to that cramps and headaches and I think I know where you are at with this.
By accident I learned about a procedure, which I had done last November, called Endometrial Ablation. You can google it on the net. I had the Novasure done.
The results have been awesome! I still have all my parts but no longer have the monthly mess. I do still get the hormonal stuff but that is good since that is still natural.
Have you heard of this or did the doc even tell you about it? My gp never even mentioned it. Like I said it was basically by accident that I found out. I took my mom to the gyno and there was a poster on the back of the bathroom door! LOL I was all like "what's this all about?"
If you haven't any idea about it and you want to talk to me you can pm me with you telly number and I will give you a call.
It really has changed my life. I was very much like you. Run down always and for 2-2 1/2 weeks every month I was basically "outta commission".
Just let me know sweetie.
In the mean time take care of yourself.

I'm so glad yer feelin' better Margaret. :hug2:

You hang in there and keep up the great work as usual. ;)

Hi Bell. Thanks doll. :hug2:

I will google that and no, the dr. did not mention it..hmmm... :willy_nilly:

Thank you so much for the info. and for sharing. :)

Nothing new w/me...

This should finally be the last day of cycle and I'm slowly starting to feel human and get some energy back..

I'm cleaning in spurts and trying to get the laundry done.

I hope to feel well enough to give myself a pedi and manicure..

I want to get ready for Mother's Day. :)

I hope to get my haircut Friday or Sat. as well.

Have A Great Day E1 :waving:

Update:

Hey guys... :seeya:

My start over day is coming soon..

Had to wait until we got the money from stim.pkg..
My gosh gas and groceries are CRAZY here!!
I've had to buy junk meals and hardly any produce/veggies..
Hubby's work is always very slow in spring/summer.

I hope to stock up on lots of fresh and frozen veggies and fruit since this may happen again with having to be on such a strict budget.

I'm anxious to get started bc I'm of course in the 80's again.

The rain/t-storms are FINALLY over for a week as well..(hope it lasts longer.)
We have had so many tornado warnings lately!
This has been the worst spring for us in quite some time.

I'm still not feeling well and my energy is so low..
Oh well..Guess I just have to push through it.. I'm tired of waiting to "feel better."

Sure wish I could have the surgery NOW!

Have A Great Thursday. :grouphug:

I have a new challenge starting Sunday.. :willy_nilly:

Hubby and I are going on the patches in hopes to become Non-Smokers.
(Stage 1 starts this Sunday)

Goodness, I hope I don't turn to FOOD! :willy_nilly:

After watching Dave's dad struggle with the highest stage of COPD and of course his mother's poor health, it is a real eye-opener!

I hope and pray we can both be successful..

I'm of course worried about me with all of my disorders, high stress levels, etc.
I have tried to quit 5 X before, but that was cold turkey.

Only lasted a week each time.

I hope the patches work.

Hi Stacy

Good luck to giving up the cigarettes. I really do hope that the patches work for you both.

It is often the case that people put on a few pounds when they give up - but it really is worth giving up if you can. All the experts agree that smoking is so bad for your health.

You have the exercise bike and a lot of knowledge about nutrition etc so hopefully you will be able to minimise any weight gain during this period. The forum is always here to help - and of course you have your own forum too.

I think that smoking is so hazardous - it is well worth giving up even if you do experience a weight gain. Whilst I can understand why you would like a lower BMI - your current BMI is not at the level where I would expect it to have a serious impact on your health in the short term. If you do gain - it can be lost again - and you can steer Dave through losing any weight that he puts on too.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks Margaret for always supporting me no matter what and no matter how long I may be MIA....lol....

You're such a fantastic person. :hug2:

I no longer have my forum sadly... It was too expensive to have it placed on-line in yahoo or google so others could find it, and those that were there often at the start faded away or had tons of stuff going on with them..

I shut it down a few days ago..

I go to the store tomorrow for the full grocery visit and I will buy lots of SF Extra Gum and some other things to help of course with not smoking and just basic things to get BACK to a healthy diet/exercise routine.

I HOPE to use exercise as my weapon against the smokes!

Everytime I get anxious and jones to smoke, I want to walk ZuZu around the property and hop on the bike...Things like that which will change my thought process and help to get this blasted weight off! :rotflmao:

Whelp, I'm ready ta go..

The whole house is spotless, I cleaned up both patios (front/back) and removed all the things that say "smoking." lol - Like the ash trays and other things.

The grocery list is made out and ready for the store tomorrow.

Also, Chrisy/MaeMae is home for the summer! :hurray:

She'll be coming to stay with us this weekend. :grouphug:

We got the new debit card Monopoly game which is a blast and we'll be playin' that along w/other games.

We got a grill as well, so I'll be cookin' yummy and healthy foods.

First up will be my pineapple/teriyaki chicken and grilled veggies. :hurray:

Chrisy bein' here will help keep us busy and smoking off our minds.

It's gonna be a great weekend.

I can't wait to get back ta eating right and exercising as well of course.

:seeya:

Looking good! Nothing quite like a go-get-'em attitude. You'll drop the weight in no time, Stacy. Sorry to hear about more of your health woes. Keep looking for those better days...they really are coming!

Way to go Stacey!!!!
I love the new attitude!
Way to go Stacey! Way to go!
Sounds to me like you got a really good plan.
I am also sorry to hear that you had to shut down your site. I know how much you liked it. And how much work you put into it.
Maybe you will get an opportunity later on to start it back up.
Also glad to hear that you guys were okay with all the bad weather. I was very worried about you. Kimberly aka Ladybug as well.
You guys take care and have a GREAT WEEKEND with you lil' sis.
Later!

Hey Stacey, was just catching up on you :).

Good luck on the smoking and please let me know how the patch works and which one you're using as my H also wants to quit. His latest plan was to only smoke 5 cigs a day, not sure if he's kept at that or not. I think he needs a patch too.

That procedure Bella had sounds so promising, hopefully something like that less invasive could help you. But I guess you're concerned about cancer as well given your family history. That's a tough call. I think Omega is onto something with the anemia, so I hope your doc has been checking your blood for this. My mom has had anemia before from long periods.

Let us know how the exercising and food is going! And the smoking! Remember if you slip up on any of it, you just try again the next hour or next day. YOU CAN DO THIS WOMAN!!

Hi y'all. :hug2:

L-Lemon: Thanks, I'm trying to re-program my brain..lol :waving:

Dawn: LOL - Thanks Ms. Cheerleader! ;)

Cita: It's a lot to deal with right now, but I just have to look at it like this: That's life - you can only live one day at a time.
I have to make the most of each day.
I can't beat myself up to no end over mistakes (like in the past), and I have to hang tough when things don't go my way. (a big challenge bc of my OCD.)

Yes, my next dr. visit I will bring up what Dawn explained.
I want the best for me.
My family history is very scary, so I want to make sure that what's done will eliminate or lower the chances for cancer.

Thank goodness I will also have a better chance of greater health from puttin' down the smokes.

Hope y'all are havin' a Great Saturday! :hug2:

Day 1

Stacy's "Breaking the Cycle."

Notes: Last time I weighed, I was back at old starting weight.. :willy_nilly:

187.0 lbs.

Day 1 -- Weigh-In: 182.4 lbs

Measurements:

Waist - 36 1/2

Mid-Section - 35

Hips/Tummy(ending under belly-button) - 44

Inner Thighs - 26

Big Yikes! :iagree:

Notes: I will keep track of my waist in siggy area.
The reason I chose that ticker is for a positive reminder re: how much money will be saved from NOT smoking! :)

My ticker is set up to reach First Goal of 168.0 lbs.

My Main Goal is to reach 150.0 lbs. so I can see if that's enough or if I need to keep going. I have no idea since I have not been that weight in 4 years now.

I want to be a 9/10 again. If I remember correctly, I was around 148 and everything fit perfectly. I was healthy and pleased with my body.

I'm 5'8 -- I will weigh-in & take measurements every 2 weeks.
(Reason: I don't want the scale telling me what mood to be in.)
I think this is the smart thing to do for me at this time as well bc of putting the smokes down. I may go up/down a bit.

Currently: In a size 16 Jean/Capri Pants

Tops: 2X

Positive Notes 2 Self:

Punishing yourself stops now.

Emotional Eating stops now.

Failure stops now.
YES, there are going to be mistakes and slip-ups. So What. :chillpill:
I can dust myself off and leave that behind the moment it happens and move forward.

I did not get myself in this mess overnight, & it's not gonna come off overnight.

Slow and Steady WINS the race.

It's Now or Never!

I WILL reach my goals! :hurray:

One last check in for now.. :)
(I'm about to start dinner and MaeMae is comin' over..)

I read the booklet that comes with the patches and it said a 5-8 lb weight gain is normal at first bc it messes w/your metab.. :eek2:

Join me in positive thoughts and vibes that this will NOT happen w/me!! :smilielol5:

I better see my weight/ticker down in 2 weeks! ;)

Y'all have a super great night.
