Me too!!!
I have nightmares every spring. Have had them like that since I was in 8th grade and a twister hit about a mile down the road. It was only a tree topper but to a kid living in a trailer it might as well been an F5!
We got lucky and were in the clear, BUT I have been a nervous wreck over my sissy in college! She's in Abilene and they had 2 tornado warnings and now they are gettin' hit again.
She is trying to freakin' recover from surgery. She blew out her acl in basketball and they had to take muscle from her leg to put in her knee.
I need to try and get some sleep bc we will get hit this next round at 6AM with high winds and possible tornadic activity.
MaeMae's phone stopped getting a signal I guess and I cannot reach her now.
I've given myself a headache from worry.
I better get to bed.
Food was on plan today and too much has been going on for me to get a serious work-out..
I was able to at least get this in.
Exercise Bike:
4.4 ml - Level 2 & 3 - Used dumbbells to work upper body/arms while riding -
It really is an eye-opener for me what horrible weather you all seem to get. Some of you get months on end of horrible snow whilst others seem to get terrible storms and tornadoes. I feel so sorry for you.
I am pleased that you got the water back and I am not surprised that you feel extra grimy. We all feel like that when the water has been off - it is the fact that you could not wash when you wanted to. I can imagine how the OCD magnifies that for you.
Well done on getting any exercise in - you will do more tomorrow. We never expected to win the battle in one day.
I am sure that it will turn out that Mae-Mae is fine - we always worry when we cannot get through to people.
Hello darlin' . Such an excellent job on the bike! Keep it up.
Margaret, the weather here in New York is very temperate compared to the extreme weather you hear about from the others. In the winter its usually above freezing temperature and I believe we only had 1 or 2 very minor snow storms this year. We dont tend to get drouts and floods and things either (though the state next to us has some rivers which seem to flood the towns regularly). Keep in mind this is a huge country so conditions are very very different depending on where you are. My sis in Florida is already in the 80's, which is already warmer than England tends to get in the summers.
As soon as I posted my last message and was powering down the computer for bed, ZuZu was growling and I peeped out the window and found 2 men breaking into cars in front of our bld.
I turned the lights off and called 911 - I was talking to dispatch giving them all the details of what I was watching the guys do while waiting for the police.
An officer was 2 streets over patrolling the area and was here in a flash.
A 2nd officer pulled up and they had both men on the ground thank goodness.
Once the guys were in the police car, an officer came to my door asking for all the info. I saw and then asked me to help them find the residents of the cars.
I got dressed and showed them where everyone lived.
Ms. ZuZu was the star/hero and she ended up w/tons of doggie treats.
lol
I didn't get to bed until almost 3AM and then was woke up at 4:05AM with ZuZu crying. I got up and then heard our tornado sirens.
Thank gosh for my precious daughter ZuZu!
I ran outside to see if we were in trouble but everything was passing just shy of us. As soon as I got back inside & turned on the news, I learned Mesquite was not in trouble but it was our border cities.
My husband works in Addison which was hit. Their plant was evacuated to their safety bld. and they lost all power bc of down power lines and damage.
Thank gosh he and others were ok.
They all got sent home of course bc the plant didn't have power.
He got home at 5AM. He said the hwy was a mess..Tree branches - debree - etc!
MaeMae is ok bless her heart. She was scared.
I've had 4 hrs. sleep. This will be a long day. lol
I know, bc most often w/crimes such as this they are never found/busted.
I think it worked out bc an officer was only 2 streets away when he got the call.
Thanks Kimberly. It was a rough morning..lol..
So far it looks like we'll finally get a dern break. At this time they are saying we'll have sunshine/some cloudy days and it should be beautiful 5 days.
Most in the mid-70's. That'll be great walking weather.
I'm gonna dust and then vacuum. That will be the only cleaning for today bc I'm too tired lol.
I'll finish my chores tomorrow and everything will be spotless.
I hope to have enough energy to get on the bike and also do pilates.
I don't think I'll lose anything this week..(tomorrow I weigh in).
I just hope to not see a gain!
This week has been difficult:
Kidney Infection
On Meds
RA messed up my Feet/Off-On Swollen
Low Energy - Not enough Rest
B-Day Cake (Hubby's b-day on the 8th)
Bad Weather - Lack of Sleep
Drama Last Night
Tomorrow should be the last day for RHC.. (my period)
Wow Stacey, that is a wild adventure of a night. Those idiot thieves must've gotten quite the shock when the cops showed up considering they do always seem to get away with it, like you said. Zuzu's the shiat! Bless her little heart. I just love animals to pieces. I miss my baby pit bull puca so much. She died last summer.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious puca.
ZuZu is my angel baby. I didn't know you could love a pet so much!?!
***
Whelp, I'm pooped and going to bed..lol..
The coolest thing happened tonight!
Brian, (the guy that had both cars broken into), came over tonight and gave ZuZu a whole box of milkbones and gave us a $50 On The Border/Chili's Gift Card!
That was too flippin' sweet.
I told him he was precious and he did not have to do that.
He put his foot down and wanted us to have everything. lol
I should be finished w/the cleaning in about an hour and a half.
I'm sweatin', so at least I'm burning cals. lol
Once finished and before my shower I'll hop on the bike.
Can't wait to be finished.
Once I'm out of the shower, I have to go through all my coupons and make out the grocery list.
We are out of everything, so tomorrow is the big shopping day.
Hey girl--a half a pound loss is great after the week you had! Every little bit adds up.
That was nice of the neighbor to drop off the milkbones and gift card. I'm sure all 3 of you can have a nice dinner out with that, and bring home a doggy bag for ZuZu.
Great job getting the cleaning done and the exercise.
I would be looking at the half pound loss as a definite victory after that week.
I am sorry that the weather was so bad - but it is great that you were all safe.
ZuZu is indeed a hero and fully deserved her present. I am sure that you will all enjoy the thankyou gifts that you recieved. It just shows that sometimes we get rewarded for doing the right thing.
Even though no one has noticed (lol), I have not been able to get on-line for a few days.
Sunday morning we all had to rush to the hospital (Baylor of Dallas) bc my hubby's mother is very ill and Dave's dad had to call 911.
She has a long list of problems and her little body is just giving out.
(She's 4'9 and 75 lbs.)
There is no telling if she will even be able to get out of the hospital.
We have only been able to eat once a day bc of just not bein' hungry and bc of always being at the hospital.
We are getting tons of walking in though bc of where we have to park and the walk just to get to her room.
I wore my pedometer yesterday and from the car to her room is 2 miles.
Plus all the walking in general all over the hospital/outside.
(We are all smokers, so we have to almost walk back to the cars to smoke bc Baylor is "smoke-free.")
I'm now 177.8
May not be the best of ways of course to lose, but at least I'm away from the 80's and my weight is coming back down.
Hubby is losing as well and before all this happened with his mom, he's just as excited about the bike as I am and was using it.
We have no desire to hop on at this time bc we are sore from all the walking.
That'll just have to be our exercise for now.
Well,
I need to go... We're fixing to head back out there again.
Hubby goes back to work tonight so he is sleeping.
It bothers us both that we now cannot be at the hospital.
****
My goodness, we are living on fumes...I was never able to make it to the store, so I have to do the big grocery visit today.
I 110% dread it bc I'm so worn out/tired.
I don't have a choice though.
I hope once I'm home and rest from the big visit I'll feel like getting on the bike..?.. We'll see..
If I don't, the store - loading/unloading/going up-down stairs/and putting all the groceries away will just have to be my exercise for the day.
Hey Stacey,
Sorry to hear that you have been going thru so much stuff! OMGOODNESS!!!
You must have a resolve of steel. There is absolutely NO WAY I would ever live where there is such a threat of tornadoes. Uh uh NO WAAAAAY! LOL
If all you get to do today is the groceries than that will be okay. Take what you get when you can get it. That's what I say!
Have a great day!
