Squeeze My Lemons

Luscious, where are you? I miss ya! You have to come back! Unless of course you're enjoying the beautiful weather, in which case take all the time you need. The sunshine is good for you!

Just wanted to say Happy Thursday and I'm trying not to miss ya! LOL!

Hey Lush.. hehe.

Hope you are having an awesome few days and not being stressed out over life, wedding, and weight stuff. I know running helps that too, good thing you picked that up.

Come back soon, we miss you!

I've been MIA for a while. The fiance is in town for Easter, so we've been spending a lot of time together. The weather has been quite nice and we are definitely enjoying it. I am trying to keep my eating on track, which is always hard when I have a partner in crime with me. Anyways, I just wanted to give you all a brief update. I weighed in on Thursday at 154! I am very excited I didn't expect that much of a drop considering that I lost a fair bit last week as well. Lets just hope I don't mess it all up while the man is here. LOL. I am probably going to be MIA until he leaves on Tuesday, so I'll give you guys a better update then and I'll check out all your diaries to see how you've all been doing!!!

Happy Easter...don't eat too many bunnies!

Yey! Congrats on the new low Luscious! Not only did you reach a new weight milestone, you get to spend time with your man in the same week. Sounds to me like you're have a pretty darn good Easter! Not to mention the weather there is nice. It snowed here the past couple of days and is supposed to continue I hear. Needless to say I'm not excited, but I'm optimistic for the week following. I love the sun and want it back daily.

Have a good one, honey! You and the finance try to contain yourselves, now you hear? LOL.

So I'm finally resurrecting my diary. Excuse a remaining Easter pun. LOL.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I ate fantastic, but not well. As in it was good to eat so many wrong things! By some miracle, I weighed myself and I am only up 0.4lbs. Yesterday, it looked like I was up way more then that (1.4lbs), so I'm not too sure which weight to believe. Anyways, you guys are probably dying to hear what I indulged in. Here's the highlights: french fries, mexican food, cheesecake, pulled pork (and other slow-smoked meats), steak, pizza, halibut & crab burger, beer, and wine. One good note... I DID NOT snack between meals, so that helped.

It was wonderful to have the man in town. It's going to be lonesome not having anyone to snuggle up against at night...oh and to have someone wonderful to hang out with. LOL.

The man and I both went out for my couch to 5K run. I told him he didn't have to but he came anyways. He broke his leg back in October and is still going to physio for it. I was worried but he said he'd play it by ear and quit if he needed to. He managed the whole run and said that he didn't think he pushed as hard as he could have. I was disappointed because this was his first time out and I've been working on it for a month. However, the next day he could hardly walk. I thought the problem was his gimpy leg...but it wasn't. He was sore everywhere for three days. I didn't feel a thing. I have to say that I was pretty smug about that fact. LOL. It was nice to finally be in better physical shape then he is. Its a bit unfair though because since he broke his leg, he hasn't been able to play hockey once a week and soccer four to five times a week.

I had to laugh at you showing up your man..lol. :hurray: Ok, ok I'll cut him some slack for having had a broken leg..lol. Way to work off your Easter indulgences--which, btw, sounded yummy. :cheers2:

lol, very nice on the running.
I get a lot of people doing and saying similar to me, sure they can out do me, but they hurt the next day! .. well ok there arnt to many who can outdo me at what ive been doing lol. Though im not good with running :D

Wow Luscious, that's an impressively low amount of weight gain for all those goodies you consumed. I'm actually really proud of you for sticking to your exercise regime because of it. Not to mention that you stuck it to your man!

Way to empower the female race, chica. You rock that unsore body! I'm glad you had fun with the fiance!

Hope you're going to have a good week still despite his absence! Big hugs, sweetie!

Thanks for the positive thinking, guys! I need it...I guess we all do otherwise we wouldn't be here. LOL.

I'll give you all and update but I won't be able to check out your diaries until tomorrow. I have to get back to an academic article I'm writing. I went on a writing binge for 13 hours yesterday, so I need to keep it going... especially since I need to finish it for a class tomorrow. The research (and writing) has been going really well. I'm actually thinking of using this article as a draft towards a bigger article that I hopefully will undertake this summer. I'm thinking that I might consider it for publication if I can refine and strengthen it. I'm a feast or famine kinda person. Right now I'm experiencing a research feast, but the famine still might be on the horizon. We'll see.

As for my weight...today was weigh-in day and I am at 153.6. So I'm down again but only by 0.4lbs since last week. Good considering that I pigged out for five days of the last week...not good considering I had lost over 2lbs the previous two weeks. You win some, you lose some. Its kinda funny how winning and loosing can be the same thing (losing weight, I mean). LOL. Yes I know that's pretty lame. Last night's 3hr insomnia following my 2am writing session is catching up with me. Seriously, I was hoping to at least reach 153, since it would mean hitting my 30lb loss milestone. That will have to wait until next week (or maybe I'll break my rules and weigh myself everyday until I reach it).

A good milestone I hit today was running further than I ever have. I ran 4.1km in 30mins. Sure it was running and walking intervals but it is a big change from the last session where I only ran 3.5. Went to physio, and the kinesiologist and I further discussed the running. So far I haven't been having back pain during or after my runs, which is good. He checked out my running form and gait, he says that its pretty good and has even improved. My glutes and outer thighs are getting stronger from the nasty lung and swat exercises (as well as core stability exercises) that he subjects me to. He says that my "biomechanics" are greatly improving and so I will have less chance of running associated problems, like knee and hip stress. He still thinks that there may be some back problems looming ahead if my running program outstrips my core training. We discussed different program modification if this happens. He thinks that even ten minute run intervals is a great success for me considering my back issues. Today I did eight minute sessions so I'm getting closer. The couch to 5k has a 20min run slated for my next session. I think I'm going to give it a shot and see how it feels. I see him next Thursday, so we can re-evaluate the situation again then.

So that's what's new with me. I can't wait to see what you guys are up to, since I've neglected your diaries all of the last week. I'm resisting the urge to take a peek! Happy Thurday...bring on the weekend, again!

Ah, Lemon, you never fail to dissapoint me. I love not only the way you write, but that your charismic personality emotes from it. Seriously, you're one of those people in life everyone wants to hang out with. I'm glad to know you, chica.

That being said, the fact that you haven't gained is impressive, and surprising. Maybe Providence is providing you a leeway from feeling a guilt trip over the past five day's eating. Because you aren't feeling extrodinarily guilty, you can focus your mind on your article. Yep, that must be what it is. Haha.

I hope you get your writing finished to your satisfaction. I'm sure you'll do amazing things with it. I'm glad your alive and back here, hon!

Okay, this praise is WAY more than deserved...but I'll soak it up anyways :D I am not always loves by those around me... I can be grumpy, know-it-all-ish and some times just plain annoying. Remember, I 'm human! I spend the majority of grade school being made fun of. Its only now as an adult that people can put up with me!

All being said...and being that you started the love-fest. I have to say that you are pretty darn wonderful yourself, Rae. I'm am absolutely positive that you are an incredible person to hang out with in the "Real World". I'm glad to have you as a buddy on the cyber side of my world!

Guess what guys. I just passed the 30lb loss milestone!!!!

WOO HOO for Me!!!!

Awesome!!

Congrats on your couch to 5K run too.

Thanks, Wishes!!!!

So I got already for my run this evening...all dressed... shoes, pedometer, and mp3 player and all. I opened the door and it was pouring outside. I had my raincoat on as I was expecting a little rain, but this was ridiculous! I have my limits. I'll run tomorrow instead.

Its been a strange sort of day...if I can even call it a day. On Thurday night, I only had an hour and a half of sleep since I was frantically trying to finish my paper. I had only a page left to write, had to set up my references, proof read, print. I had one day to do it. No problem, right. Guess again. It took me 13 hours!!! I have no idea where the time went. So, only a nap on thursday night. Anyways, so yesterday after class, I slept for a couple hours before physio. I left physio wide awake and didn't think I could sleep even though my body really needed it. Finally at midnight I was tired so I went to bed. I didn't wake up until 3:30 PM today!!! Fifteen and a half hours straight! Needless to say today wasn't much of a day. LOL!

holy shit 15 hours! thats impressive. You would need a run after sitting couped up for that long too. Pity about the rain, though you could always just get into tiny shorts and singlet, and run in the rain getting totally wet, then come home to a nice hot shower!

Just cup your boobs with your hands for support. That's what I did when I ran the naked mile in college. :D

Congrats on losing 30lbs!! :hurray:
