Sprite's Progress Thread

On the up-side I did drag myself out of bed and get down to the gym today and burn off 750 calories. :D

Miraculously I still lost 1lb this week!

Another bad food-day with a full English this morning! But I've been good for the rest of the day... and that's the end of the sinful weekend.

After lunch I burnt off 1000 cals at the gym :D so I don't feel so bad. And I'm really getting back on track now, gonna work really hard this week.

Hi Sprite! just stopped in to say- I hope you have a wonderful day! Good Job on the weight loss!
GO SPRITE!:D

Thanks guys.

twolilangels -I just use the cardio machines. 1000 is more than I usually burn, I usually aim for 750 but yesterday I was on a mission to help work off the weekend food! (I was down there about 2 and a half hours because I took it slow and steady and had nowhere else to be.)

At the gym I go from one machine to another, I usually start on the rowing machine, then move to the treadmill, then crosstrainer, etc... and on each I will burn 50/100/150/200 cals, depending on what feels comfortable. If I feel like a change I change, and I take it easy in that I take frequent stops for drinks and a breather.

I find it's easier if, on each machine, I set a target such as "another 150 on here" and work towards it. :)

I've set myself a challenge - 3000 calories to be burnt in gym by end of Saturday. I think this will give me more of an incentive and help resolve those "should i or shouldn't i" thoughts when considering a trip to the gmy each day. :D

Good stuff, sounds like your finding out what works adn such and what you need to do gfor yourself...good for you!!! Keep up the good work and remeber it is all a balance of finding what you need to do for you...

Thanks you two.

Today's gym session burnt 800 cals, then I swam 10 lengths. (Also walked to and from the gym/pool :D)

I was tired after a late night last night though, so I'm really feeling it now I've worked out today.

I am keeping in mind that I have a big night out next week; 1. if I've worked really hard until then I will feel a lot better about "letting my hair down", and 2. us ladies are each expected to wear a skirt  something I don't think I've donned in about 5 years. (We are supposed to be going in school uniform!)

Hey all. Just a quick progress report.

Yesterday I had the day off work... and overall I was pleased, it was a good day. I consumed about 1200 cals so that could have been better.

But I got plenty of excercise in. I went for a walk & did my sit-ups. I then did my ENTIRE workout dvd; it was the first time I've done it right through and OH MY it's a hard workout :| I felt tired right out by the time I finished. But I still made myself go to the gym in the evening and burn 800 cals.

So I was quite pleased with myself yesterday :D

Today I planned to go to the gym but after my 11-hour day was over I just felt SO tired... I have another 11 hours tomorrow and I don't want to feel this tired all the way through that shift as well so I gave the gym a miss. I am going to rest up this evening and have a good night's sleep.

But I AM going to go down for an hour in the morning. Tomorrow is weigh-in so I'm sure that will inspire me to work hard whatever the scale says.

Wish me luck. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'd be soooo pleased to have lost a lb, I really want to get rid of the last 4 and have lost a whole stone.

Anyway... I will be back tommorow. Hope you're all having a good weekend. x

Wow Sprite, you're an inspiration, you're really pushing yourself!! I wish you luck for your weigh-in. Just remember to drink that water, and push yourself a little harder. Maybe you can do some sort of exercise at work??? Just a thought. You're doing really well no matter what happens.

:D

Hey changeforlife. Thanks for the post.

I don't get a chance to do actual "excercises" at work, but work is quite physical for me anyway -I'm on the go all the time, and I work in a big old victorian buidling with 5 storeys and 3 staircases. Lots of running up and down them like a mad-woman is involved. ;)

You're right I'm pushing myself. I really am pleased with how this is going so far, I think it's since I've seen what a difference hard excercise can do.

Plus I had a really bad weekend last weekend food-wise (Chinese buffet, full english breakfast, 2 slap-up pub meals, and millions of calories in drink LOL) so I've been trying to make up for that. :D

Wow, well at least you have a very active job, I wish I did...

*ugh* it isnt as glamorous as it sounds...You really need to push yourself to work out aside from work...I have a physical job as well and it takes alot of energy and balancing to get alot of work outs in...

Sprite you are doing well...congrats and obviously it is working, I believe we need to shock our bodies into loosing the lbs it is holding onto...

This is true...

After I typed that I thought about it and figured I wouldn't want a job like that. lol. Last year I had a seasonal job and I was on my feet almost 8 hours a day. With only just a few minutes to sit down for breaks and I almost died!! lol. My feet were killing me and I did nothing but work and sleep because I was so exhausted. It was horrible.

So let me take that back. lol... I wasn't thinking clearly. :p

Hi Sprite
Just popped it to say I cheering for you!
Have a good day! Keep up the good work :)
