Sprite's Progress Thread

Thanks changeforlife -I recently started a new job which is physically hard work and I have to take two buses to get there so work alone is making me tired. Add the diet and all the new excercise I've taken on, plus my bad habit of staying up too late and this is what I get. My own fault really.

I weighed myself today and no change :( Disheartening, even though I know I shouldn't place too much faith in what the scales say.

I am tempted to excercise today and tomorrow, especially as I have the days off work, but as I'm not feeling great I think it would be a better idea to give myself a rest so I can put 100% in when I do get back into it...

Anyway I will continue to work hard at the diet. I guess this is where it's going to get harder to see the weight go... :(

Thanks hillbillylee. I felt a bit better today (a good nights sleep did wonders) and as I say it was my own fault for trying to do too much too soon with the excercise, and going to bed far too late. I just felt that I should use the weekend to get back on my feet so I can do my best this week.

I haven't really had a good day with eating... aside from 4 hob-nob biscuits (SINNER!) which is definately not diet food, I have just eaten too much in general I think. I was on a bit of a downer after the scales didn't change for me and I think this was what caused it.

BUT. I haven't used the "may as well have today off then" excuse and allowed myself to stuff chocolate... and I am not going to let myself get off track because of one not-so-brilliant day.

I didn't like standing on the scales and not seeing any progress, although I know that I get too hung up on what they say- I can feel the difference, and see it, so I'm definately doing some good. It's just disheartening. My boyfriend said exactly what I needed to hear when I told him about is this evening though, bless him, and that helped a lot to keep me going with it.

Tomorrow I am going to get in some good excercise... I will either take a long walk or do my excercise DVD in the morning and in the evening I have my weekly aqua-fit class. So hopefully by tomorrow evening I will be feeling a bit better about it all again. :)

I am also going to be very strict with myself this week... NO MORE OVER-SIZED PORTIONS for a start. I know as I go on it will be harder to lose the weight, and some weeks nothing will show on the scales, but that dissapointing feeling has still driven me to be determined; I want a result next sunday.

I am also going to start writing what I have eaten each day on here. Hopefully this will help with the portion control; how shameful if I have a huge long list of food to tell you all at the end of the day! :D

Thanks changeforlife. I know the important thing is that I keep it up and can feel the change... but it's amazing how dissapointing it can be isnt it. :)

Yeah, it can be REALLY disappointing. My scale is in the bathroom, and btw it is very inaccurate so I don't even know why I bother to stand on it every time I go in the bathroom. It really frustrates me, but then I just remember that it takes time...

LOL I know the feeling, mine can be a bit temperamental as well. I don't tend to get on much, mainly out of dread that it will say I've not lost anything- or worse, that I've gained a pound or two!

I love this forum now, I'm hooked. I must spend at least an hour on here each day... but it really strengthens my resolve to read other people posting their success or even how good they're being (getting their excercise in, etc or just little acheivements.)

I have made myself a new promise... two pint glasses of water a day. I know this doesn't sound a lot but I HATE drinking water (I made a thread under "nutrition" about it) so this sounds like a lot to me for the time being! (I will mean just holding my nose and gulp it down. :D)

Keep posting as often as you can because that way you can look back over what you have done and what has motivated you and also find out what you haven’t done to help you loose weight for the week. Everything looks good so far though, are you feeling better? I hope you have a wonderful week. Oh and congrats on the new job.

rosered -thanks, the new job is great I'm loving it so far, just it's very tiring.

I feel a lot better after giving myself a bit of a break. I intend to get stuck in again this week. :)

I'm going to start keeping up with your progress now :)

I was wondering--how often do you step on that evil scale? Everyone's weight naturally fluctuates anyway depending on a lot of different things (including the time of the month and lots of other factors)... I don't weigh myself more than once a week IF even that often. If I've done well for a week, my body tells me so by how good I feel. Plus, I think it's more fun to not look for a while and then be surprised and happy to find that you've lost 5 pounds or something instead of 1 (which could just be natural fluctuation..)

anyway. YAR!

Thanks Kaitie.

notimelikenow, I weigh myself once a week, I try not to step on them more than that. I know what you mean about feeling the difference, but I like to keep track and I write down what I am each week. If I didn't weigh weekly I'd worry that I'd put on a few pounds or something.

The natural weight gain and loss is annoying, as you say I think it does affect what you see on the scales a little but there's not much that can be done about that.

I look forward to checking out your thread when it's done. :)

I weight twice a week, once offically and then once midweek...Just wanted to stop in and say hey and I will drop by regularly...by the way I love your name and the av pic...sooo cute:):):)

hey sprite keep up the good work, i also weight once week, no more or else i get scale obsessed!!!!! It is good to see you progress, and once a week is plenty;) have a great day......STAR

Just dropping in quickly to report back on the day.

I have eaten;
bowl of rice krispies with canderel (a sugar alternative)
boiled potato and boiled veg
1 tin of spagetti on crackers

And on the excercise front I did 30 mins of my excercise DVD and went to aqua-fit tonight which is an hour.

:)

Hey. :)

Well yesterday went ok really. I ate:

-1 banana and 1 apple
-One sachet of pasta (this brand is diet friendly so I have a lot of these)
-One small plate of veg with a little gravy. (no meat)

However I did have a couple of low-fat crackers with Philadephila-Light spread on them as a snack, which probably wasnt so good.

So this wasnt bad, and I did get my excercise in, I went down to the pool and I ended up swimming 30 lengths :D I'm not sure how far that works out as but I'm sure it did some good. (I didnt do them non-stop, I'd do a few lengths then rest, but it's still excercise.)

Today I had an apple before work, pasta for lunch, and later I will have a small plate of dinner again, so much the same as yesterday really. I'm going down to the gym tonight to get half an hour in before aqua-fit, so that should be adequate for today.

I'm quite pleased with myself the last few days. :D
