Katie,

If you pm me her address I'll mail her a debit card. Or, better yet, if she accepts PayPal, give me her paypal email address.

Heart surgery is scary, but cancer is even scarier.

huh?? lol.

Spin class for an hour, then taught Masters-the class is really booming. We had 3 to a lane today. After a short jaunt to the grocery store I thought it was too nice of a day to just eat lunch and be inside so I took advantage of my husband being home for lunch and went on a short 4 miler with my new pal, Garmin :) I felt wiped out but my average pace was still 8:09. It was hotter than I'm used to. I'm looking forward to learning to train in the heat. It will be challenging for me. I may be a CA girl but I HATE the heat

I think I'll just go out and run 4 miles in 36 minutes, thank you very much! :eek2:

with my new Garmin! could you have it any better!!!!!! :newangel:

32:35 thank you very much. lol. but really, who's keeping track ;)

no kidding. the garmin is magical. I felt all wired up on that run. I had my music, the garmin and my heartrate monitor. lol. ridiculous. For now its cool and I hope eventually after using the training aids I can just put them away and know what pace I'm hitting and how hard my heart is beating. I can do that in swimming so I'm sure its the same with running.

wutz this garmin? is it like charmin?

lol. no. Its a jogging gps. The one I have has a lot of features. You have access to regular info like your time, pace, distance, average pace, heart rate, calories but it also will save your runs and then you can either race against yourself (from old workouts) or you can do a virtual partner where you enter in the distance and time and literally race "someone" in your workout. The thing beeps at intervals you want it to. Mine is set at every mile so you don't have to keep looking down. Mine also measures bike cadence and speed. I especially like that i no longer have to preplan my running routes. After I'm done with a workout I can download all my training info onto the garmin training website and it charts my progress. I can also blog there. I also just found out you can plot coordinates on it so I could even use it to geocash! Its just the coolest thing since pb&j :D

That sounds awesome. If you don't mind my asking What did that set you back?

Went to the foothills with a friend and went mountain biking and trail running. I forgot how much fun that is. We went 8 miles of hill technical bike riding (didn't fall horray!) and then put our bikes up for 4 miles of hill trail running. She took me on this one hill that was only about 1/4 mile long but straight up. It was so hard. She made me do it twice. She's my spin instructor too and knows I'm pretty much unlimited so she pushes me hard.

Went to the most awesome little itallian cafe afterwards and had a killer hot grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia with roasted red peppers, red onions, mozz. cheese and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic. It was worth the hard work just for THAT. Observation from the day-I need way more hill work :(

I got it as a gift but I know the garmin forerunner 201 model that I have runs abotu 140-160. The older model before it basically does the same stuff (no bike though) and its about 110-120. There are more expensive models out now too but really, they all basically do the same stuff.

oh dang it all. I was gunna take a rest day and blame it on you taking one, and here you didn't take one!

doesn't that just beat all!!!

ha who said I was resting today? ;) My rest days from here on out are....Sunday :D

I'm trying to drop that last 5ish pounds that hasn't vanished since babies. I'm convinced its absence will give me a good race season. lol

Aerodynamics are everything. :)

What is this Modified 300 workout? Just wondering.:D
