yeah, don't I know it :(

I'm trying to keep a few "bricks" around no matter how small just so when I start training for the beast I won't be so shocked. I remember last year what a rude awakening the transitions were for me as I trained and it took a while to get used to. Running after SPINNING isn't that hard anymore but I have a feeling a real bike might feel differently.

I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT A BRICK WAS UNTIL YOU TAUGHT ME!

now that we have that out of the way.

Give me one mile OPEN WATER before Sunday night. k?

I'd like to, seriously but not sure that can happen. The nearest swimmable lake is 45 min from here and I won't go alone out of safety and I really doubt anyone is going to come with me. I can try though.

That's prudent - you don't need to be swimming the middle of a lake by yourself....

Now, Flyinfree would probably swim an Australian lake with a lamb chop taped to his back if someone dared him...

Ride there, swim around the edge for 30 minutes, get out, run back to your bike and then ride home.

see! sometimes you just need a MAN to fix it.

heheheeh

Just got back from the bike store and I am a 54 cm.
eye candy for your thread.

GOOD place to challenge g8r80 too. Sat morning ride-- come with me. we meet at 8:am. unless of course yer scared!

p.s. if you don't practice yer open water- you will end up in the middle of a lake by yourself! oh wait-- they have people on kyacks to help "you NON-training people" **ducking**

ahahahhhga

AH dem are FIGHTING words! lets remember who the REAL swimmer is here eh mr blow chunks? :D

I don't NEED to train for that part, at least right now, I did a flippin 10K national open water swim :D ok ok
so what that it was like 15 years ago ;) I just need to swim period. In a pool more than 2 times a week would be good!

Well really, I don't feel like i need to do that NOW, things are still fairly far off and the swim is the last thing I'm worried about. I feel like even open water is one of my stengths. I am used to sighting as I swim and I even go in a straight line with my eyes closed :) I will practice more in open water as spring approaches. My weakness right now is LONG bike rides and long runs...um..cause i have no bike. hahaha I think it will make a WORLD of difference when I get a new one and it actually FITS. I was pretty tough on the bike before but now I'm going to haul.

G8R and Sara, you guys are too funny

well glad to see you again Christi and you know we're all going to get on your butt and get you moving :)

Today was tri class and I was a participant. normally we lift but we're lifting tomorrow. It was a cardio circuit and pretty tough if I do say so! There were like 12 stations 3 min each and they weren't easy. Things like suicides, burpies, sprinting, jump rope etc. We did it 3 times through. Then abs. I'm really hungry.

I have a great base going into training at the turn of the year, but its going to be painful to move me forward into a fitness level I've not yet known. I can already tell.

blah blah blah.... try to embarrass me with "mr blow chunks" HA!! that's right. I blew twice in the water and once on the bike- and finished an Olympic length in 6 hours-
AND that was before the course was closed.

then the 70.3 in 7:00:02

BUT-I can not imagine swimming 6.48, SO you can have your credits for that. Of course you didn't need to wear floaties back then - :)

I got my eye on this bike. It is a year old brand new- $1250.00

SO- can I borrow 1,125 dollars sweet lady friend of mine?

maybe we should talk a bit more about yours.

Sure, let me reach into my back pocket to get it...*reaches into pocket*, oh shoot, sorry, its empty *shrugs*
I spent my last dime on some upgraded floaties for christmas :biggrinsanta:

Took the morning and it was fabulous. My hubby flew to Mexico (not for a holiday) this AM so thats sad but he'll be back in a few. Kids and I have some fun stuff planned.

Did the eliptical for 30 and then Hypertrophy 1 workout B. On paper it looks harmless enough  is all I have to say

140 squats
115 deadlift shrugs
12lb DB for step ups and split squats

and today was supposed to be an "easy" day

Yup H1B looks pretty simple on paper, but doing squats and deadlifts in the same workout is difficult. Looks like you did ok.

I was losing my grip on the deadlifts. that was the hardest part. I've also never done 140 squats or even close to 115 dead lifts. Then on the splits and step ups my legs were pretty shakey. I was sore going into it from yesterday's tri class. I know tomorrow morning I'm going to be hatin' life. The pool is back filled and heated. Maybe I'll go float in it tomorrow with my floaties :D

Taking the day off. Seriously. I promise I am. I know I often state this and then go off and do some crazy workout later in the day as I get stir crazy, but not this time. I'm totally relaxing. Plus its just me and the kids and they have formed some sort of alliance in rebellion of not wanting to go to the gym. I'm outnumbered. I surrender. I got pretty sore from the lifting yesterday paired with tri class the day before. I think doing any activity today would be counterproductive. I plan to swim tomorrow. I'm looking foward to it since I haven't been in the water for about 10 days.

Today is Dec 1 and I'm back to squeaky clean eating and sacrificing my taste buds for nutrition, no matter how gross that ends up being sometimes. I'll edit the menu later.

B-whey/flax shake
L-2c steamed brocolli, 6oz can tuna, 5 olives chopped, red onion
S-2 large carrots, 1c airpopped popcorn-no protein:( this was survival right here..just to not eat the cookies I have to make for a Christmas party tomorrow.
D-more brocolli, chicken and sprouted low carb tortilla w sprinkle of parm cheese

Good for you, girlfriend.
