Sparrows Experiment

i took yesterday for myself as well. :p

well more for that wicked hangover from my installation dinner...oh did i mention i was in the top 5 responders for my FD? ;)

30 min spin...was in there too long before i realized "what the heck am I here for, I just rode 50 yesterday"

I went out to the "lawn" by the pools and did this wicked circuit for speed and power. It was a series of strides mixed in with things like 60 sec of push ups, or lunges, or leaps or burpies or bench dips or 1-legged squats etc. I found it in the "running times" magazine I get. It was awesome.

I got bored though and then went inside to the tread (as if that is so fun) I did 30 min of:
5 min@ 8 min pace
2 min @ 9 min pace
1 min @ 6 min pace
repeat for 30 min

Then a few weights with my weight buddy
squats-145#
barbell bi curls 35#
bulgarian split squats w/ shoulder press 15#
lateral raise 10#

Then a bunch of core: planks, reverse crunch off bench, oblique stuff

good workout but I was just A.D.D or something today.

You can squat 145#?! That's a lot!

really? I don't know whats good or not. Its more than I squatted last season by 10 pound, thats all I know and I'm happy about.

Took today off. Too much to do and I have a heavy next few days coming up. I got a LOT done without the gym!

WELL crud, feeling under the weather today. Just a low grade fever and a pretty nice sized headache. I had some good training plans today but I nixed them-trying to be wise. This is day 2 off

booo to getting sick. i'm just waiting for a bad cold to get me.. been lucky so far (knock on wood) but there are so many sick people at work right now its inevitable. i think the runnings been keeping me healthy though (wish it kept me uninjured lol)

Feel better Sparrow!

Thanks guys! I'm doing much better. Whatever it was just needed a really good sleep and its gone! I slept 12 hours last night!

I agree FF, as long as the body isn't overtrained, running-or any regular fitness greatly improves the immune system

Today I didn't want to, but I swam 3500 yds and of course felt better after doing it. I could tell I hadn't been in the pool for over a week though!

Tomorrow's long run is 12

Ran 13 in 1:47 which was 8:13 pace. Had some miles of easy and some of harder but all felt strong till the end. If I can stay healthy and injury free I'm pretty sure I'll PR at the March 7th race. Need to be faster than my last years best 1:44:29

2000 boring swim today. I felt like a drowning cow. I had a nasty cheat yesterday that is going to set me back a few days I think!

haha the question is "What DIDN'T I have" I'm not doing cheat days anymore. I can't handle them!

30 min spin (cranked it up to as high as I could stand for the 30 min)-I wasn't a fan of the instructor (sub) today so I was just trying to make the most of it

30 min HIIT. 3 min@ 8:30 pace/1 min sub 6 pace! I felt amazing! Total 4 miles

15 min moving stairs level 11 no hands-it was challening and breathless

30 min weights-back, bi, tri, chest

I'll do core tonight.

I went to Hooters Saturday with some friends and had a few wings while there. It was the worst mistake ever. Not only do the wings at this particular hooter suck on the good chicken wings scale, but I felt like HELL on Sunday.

Never again.

Plus the girls had on t-shirts...umm hi...it's called Hooters...not butts.

Missed a morning workout so I had to go at night-which I just hate. Its so crowded and gross! I had limited time so I did 30 min tempo run at 8 min pace, core work and a 1000 swim with my daughter :)

13.1 miles

1:47:30. Felt fabulous until the very very very end :) The last 3 miles were
all under 8 min pace
